To Be Yours Again novel (Alec and Jenny)
Chapter 1318 Urging Me Already?

At the same time, Melanie also looked at Alec and Jenny, who were on the stage, enviously. "I really hope my wedding will be grand like theirs in the future." As she said that, she couldn't help but sneakily glance at Paul sitting next to her.

Unfortunately, Paul didn't pay her any attention. Instead, he looked toward the other side as if naturally drawn to something over there. Melanie followed his gaze, and as she expected, she saw Stephanie. Bitterness enveloped her heart in an instant. Although she and Paul had publicly announced their relationship, Paul didn't consider her his girlfriend at all. He only took her out when he needed to put up a front. Melanie felt hurt but didn't dare to speak up for herself. She was afraid she wouldn't even be able to hold on to her fake relationship with Paul in the end.

"No matter what, I'm still his girlfriend now, right?" she comforted herself inwardly.

She'd heard that Stephanie and Leonard would start preparing for their wedding after Jenny's. Once they got married, Paul wouldn't keep holding on to any hope of rekindling his relationship with Stephanie. By then, it would be Melanie's chance to step in and perhaps claim his heart.

Paul had no idea what she was thinking. If he did, he would probably mock her for her unrealistic thoughts. He didn't have any feelings for Melanie. Regardless of whether Stephanie got married or not, he would not develop any feelings for her whatsoever.

The wedding ceremony ended quickly, and then came the toasting session. Alec went table by table, toasting merrily with Jenny by his side. Jenny didn't drink much; it was mostly Alec downing the alcohol. He didn't mind it one bit because he was genuinely exhilarated.

After the toasting, Jenny returned to the resting room, and Stephanie followed. "Jenny, I can see that Alec has put a lot of effort into this wedding."

"I know, right? He handled almost everything, so I hardly had to worry about anything," Jenny agreed contentedly.

"Well, I'm not sure what to do for my wedding after seeing yours. We definitely won't be able to match yours in terms of grandeur, so we'll have to think of something unique instead." Stephanie sighed, feeling a bit troubled.

Jenny laughed in response. "Are you trying to compete with me?"

"No, it's not that. Leonard and I are ordinary people, so there's no need for us to have such a grand wedding like yours." Many people attended Jenny's wedding that day. Besides Alec and Jenny's friends, a majority of the people present were business acquaintances. The guest list for Stephanie and Leonard's wedding wouldn't include these people. Hence, their wedding shouldn't be as large in scale; it could be a more intimate affair.

Jenny listened to her woe like a true friend would, but she had no useful suggestions for Stephanie. "You figure it out yourself. I don't have any good advice for you concerning wedding arrangements." "You're super fortunate, Jenny," she said with a sigh. She wished to be carefree like Jenny, but when she thought about Leonard...

If she didn't take the helm, Leonard probably wouldn't know how to make such arrangements either. Moreover, he was busier than her. She could foresee that the wedding preparations would probably become her responsibility.

"Now that you and Alec are married, when do you plan to have children?" Stephanie asked an astute question, catching Jenny completely off guard. She was so surprised that she paused in motion halfway through removing her makeup.

She turned to look at Stephanie disbelievingly. "Seriously? Are you urging me to have kids already?"

"To be fair, I thought we could discuss it later. We could get pregnant together. If we happen to give birth to a boy and a girl, they can become childhood sweethearts. If they're both the same gender, they can become best friends too. Wouldn't that be great?" Stephanie couldn't help but fantasize about that. It seemed like a wonderful scenario to her.

Jenny laughed reflexively but refused Stephanie's proposal outrightly. "Sure. But we'll have to see how it goes. I'm not in a hurry to have a child, anyway."

She was still young, after all. She felt she would be tied down and lose her freedom if she had children now.
