To Be Yours Again novel (Alec and Jenny) -
Chapter 463
Chapter 463 Things Won't End Well for Them
No one would take what she said seriously. Alec didn't, and not even Yvonne herself. When she came to think of it, what kind of retribution would really lead someone like Alec to his doom?
She left the Perry Residence and stood on the side of the road, not knowing where she could go or who she could turn to. The Dickmans were gone, and she'd divorced Sam. The world was such a big place, but there was no place for her.
"How ridiculous!" Yvonne sneered inwardly.
She was once the proud young lady of the Dickman family. She was at the top of the world, yet, she fell from grace because she fell for Alec. Standing under the streetlamp, she looked around in confusion. In her drunkenness, she was a little unsteady on her feet. She held on to the pole, and it was unclear what she was thinking.
Following a loud rumble, several motorcycles stopped in front of her. Someone got off one of them and approached her.
"Hey, pretty. You look like you need a place to crash. Come on, I'll take you in."
Yvonne raised her head and looked at the man in front of her. His striking red hair failed to leave a good first impression on her.
"Get lost!"
"Oh, she's quite fierce. I like that."
The man with red hair didn't care whether Yvonne agreed as he stepped forward to grab her. He didn't pull Yvonne onto his motorcycle but to an unoccupied alley not far away. Soon, Yvonne's cries could be heard coming from the alley, accompanied by the laughter of the gangsters, who sounded as if they were enjoying a show...
The next day, Jenny was woken up by the alarm coming from downstairs. She got out of bed, stood on the balcony, and looked down. Unfortunately, she was too high up and couldn't see anything. She deduced that something must have happened. Jenny didn't think too much about it and turned, walking back to her room. After washing up and changing into fresh clothes, she went out.
Outside, Alec seemed to have been waiting for her for some time. Jenny saw him as soon as she opened her door.
"Uh...were you waiting for me?" Jenny couldn't help but ask, her curiosity piqued.
Alec nodded and said, "There seems to be an incident downstairs. I'm concerned for your safety, so I'll drive you to the hospital."
He didn't really care about what had happened, but he'd heard a little about it. Word got around that a woman was sexually assaulted by gangsters. Alec was naturally worried for Jenny when such a thing happened in their vicinity.
"There's no need to be so nervous. You know what I'm capable of." Jenny was helpless, as she felt that she was not that weak.
Alec didn't seem to think the same. "How many times has it been? Have you not learned your lesson yet?"
Jenny fell silent, unable to conjure any words to refute him. He was right; it was time she learned her lesson. Every time she thought she had the upper hand, she would always face powerful opponents whom she had trouble defeating.
She obediently followed Alec into the underground parking lot and got into his car. With that, they made their way to the hospital.
When their car passed the entrance of the alley, Jenny could see many people crowding around to have a look. She couldn't help but lament, "That kind of scum should be given the death penalty!" "Don't worry. Things won't end well for those despicable people," Alec replied.
Jenny stayed silent after that as they drove by. Though she felt sorry for the girl who suffered such a tragedy, it had nothing to do with her, and she couldn't help much.
"Didn't you say you were going to visit Grandpa? When are you going?" Alec changed the topic, afraid that Jenny would continue to think about what had just happened and be in a bad mood Jenny thought about it and said, "I think I'll go tonight."
“Okay, I'll inform him," Alec said with a laugh. He was happy that Jenny was willing to pay his grandfather a visit.
They arrived at the hospital soon. Alec didn't get out of the car. After he watched Jenny enter the hospital, he started the car again and left.
