To Be Yours Again novel (Alec and Jenny) -
Chapter 482
Chapter 482 Could She Have Failed?
The woman said nothing, but Alec paid no attention to her.
Looking at his men, he instructed, "Take her to the dungeon and interrogate her well. Pry out everything she knows."
He wasn't as kind as Jenny toward someone who wanted to take his life.
Naturally, he had to deal with them accordingly.
The woman was taken away, and Alec stood in place for a long time, his heart a little heavy.
As Jenny got closer to uncovering the truth, the danger around her also increased.
Alec wasn't sure how long he could protect her.
If she returned to the Walters, would he still be of help? To be more exact, would he even qualify to help? It seemed to him now that he was still too weak.
A few days later, after Natalia returned from Bardoff City, she immediately came to look for Jenny.
"Dr. Walter, I have contacted both Parrington Hospital and Bardoff Hospital. The two hospitals are now cooperative, and you can perform the surgery at Bardoff Hospital." "Good. You're quite efficient."
Jenny couldn't help but acknowledge that though the Cruzes were only a secondclass family in Bardoff City, their influence could not be underestimated.
The Walters, one of the Ten Elites, would be even more powerful.
If she really went there, she didn't have a solid plan as to how to deal with them.
"Well, my grandfather's life is at stake, so of course I have to get everything arranged as soon as possible," Natalia said frankly. She had indeed asked many people for help in this matter. Jenny didn't say anything to that.
Natalia quickly asked, "Dr.Walter, when will you go with me to Bardoff City to perform my grandfather's surgery?"
"Tomorrow," Jenny replied.
"Huh?"
Natalia was surprised.
"So soon?"
Before she came over, she'd expected that Jenny would agree to go sometime within a week.
As long as Jenny was willing to perform the surgery within that time frame, she would
be content. She didn't expect it would be the next day.
"Is that too soon? So do you prefer for me to go at a later date?"
Jenny looked at her, amused and thinking that Natalia was a little weird.
Natalia shook her head quickly.
"No, no, I just didn't expect it to be so soon.I thought you would go in a few days."
"Your grandfather's condition isn't optimistic. Since you've decided to have surgery, we should do it as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the worse it will be." Natalia nodded. "Okay, then I'll arrange for the flight tomorrow."
"Okay," Jenny replied and didn't say anything else.
After Natalia left, Jenny didn't busy herself; instead, she leaned back in her chair and thought about how to get to her family's residence in Bardoff City.
Of course, she wasn't in a hurry to return to her family. She just wanted to take Ash to her family to confront them.
Ash was the woman from the previous night-Alec had just told Jenny her name earlier that morning.
Jenny didn't ask Alec how he found out, nor did she care if he'd done anything to Ash.
Since Ash wanted to kill her, Jenny wasn't a saint and couldn't possibly help her.
If she went to the Walters and looked for Rowena, she would be throwing herself into the snake pit.
The person she needed to approach was her father.
"Does my father know what his wife is up to? Oh well, it's pointless to think about that now," Jenny thought.
She started to study Natalia's grandfather's medical case again.
Although the chances of a successful surgery were slim, failure was not an option for Jenny. She had to succeed.
In Bardoff City, at Walter Castle, Rowena anxiously awaited Ash's confirmation that she'd accomplished what she was told to do. However, she heard nothing from her. "Could she have failed? How is that possible?" Rowena pondered.
Ash was skilled in Bardoff City and had few opponents, let alone in a small place like
Parrington. no.velebook She should be able to handle Jenny with ease.
Nonetheless, it had already been several days, and there was still no news from Ash.
Rowena was no doubt worried and unsettled.
"What're you thinking about?"
Graham asked while looking at Rowena at the dining table, his expression probing as he watched her. He'd long noticed that something was off about the woman.
Coupled with the fact that he didn't see Ash around for the past few days, he couldn't help but speculate. He'd previously thought that Rowena didn't have the guts to do anything drastic, so he didn't inquire much. That didn't seem to be the case now
