Chapter 486 If You Fail...

Two days later, the surgery for Larry Cruz, the head of the Cruz family, officially commenced. In the past two days, Jenny had prepared the surgical plan and had several exchanges with the doctors at Bardoff Hospital. Only after everyone was familiar with the plan did they decide to begin the surgery.

Early in the morning, Larry was wheeled into the operating room. Jenny changed into her surgical gown and headed toward the operating room as well. When she reached the entrance, Natalia looked at her with reddened eyes and said, "Dr. Walter, my grandpa is in your hands.'

Jenny nodded without saying much.

"If..." Natalia started to say something but hesitated. Then, she took a deep breath and said, "If...if you fail, I wont blame you for anything. I know you've tried your best."

It took a lot of courage for her to say those words. She wanted Jenny to do her best without any worries, so she made up her mind to get it off her chest so that Jenny could carry out the surgery without worries.

Jenny raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything. She walked into the operating room. The 'In Surgery" sign lit up, and many Cruz family members waited at the door. They didn't believe in Jenny's ability but didn't want her to fail either-it was an extremely complicated feeling.

Not far away in the hospital corridor, Derrick looked toward the operating room and asked someone next to him respectfully, "Director, aren't those people the Cruzes? Wasn't it said that Mr. Cruz didn't need surgery? Why are they here today?"

"I heard that Miss Natalia Cruz brought a doctor from out of town, and it's that doctor performing the surgery on Mr. Cruz today." The director clearly knew more about what was going on.

Derrick was surprised. "The hospital's director said there was no need for surgery. How dare a doctor from out of town perform surgery on the old man instead? They must be doing it for money."

"Who knows? They insist on believing in that doctor, so we can't do anything about it." Derrick's director didn't like the doctor, but since the Cruzes insisted, there was nothing he could do. He just hoped that if the surgery failed, they wouldn't be too sad.

Derrick thought the Cruzes were foolish. In the whole of Clusia, which doctor could be better than the doctors at Bardoff Hospital? He didn't leave in a hurry but wanted to see the outcome of the surgery and how the doctor would invoke the wrath of the Cruzes should the surgery fail.

Larry was in surgery for a long time; it went on from morning till night. The Cruzes started out with hope, but as night approached, they all looked dejected. Can a surgery that took such a long time really be successful?

Right then, the 'In Surgery" sign dimmed, and everybody started to crowd at the entrance. It wasn't only the Cruzes, but some doctors from the hospital also wanted to know the result because they didn't trust doctors from other places.

A nurse came out and looked at the Cruzes. "The patient, Larry Cruz..."

"How is my grandfather?"

"Did the surgery succeed?"

"I knew that the doctor Natalia brought was unreliable!"

The people present spoke one after another, and obviously, they assumed the surgery had failed.

Natalia felt sad, but she still scolded everyone, "Quiet down and listen to the nurse. Nurse, just go ahead and tell us the result. We're ready to accept any result.' Natalia looked at the nurse downheartedly. The nurse was confused and, after a while, spoke up, "Everyone, Dr. Walter said the surgery was very successful." They were stunned as soon as those words came out of her mouth, doubting whether they'd heard her correctly.
