Chapter 489 Not That Petty

Jenny's words made Alec reflect deeply on his recent condition. Even he felt something was not quite right as he got no relief after psychotherapy. On the contrary, the fear of losing something became even more pronounced. Hearing what Jenny said, Alec realized that maybe the psychiatrist he was seeing was not good enough.

"Didn't you say you know a psychiatrist?' Alec asked. He decided to accept Jenny's arrangement, hoping to achieve an improvement. He thought he was fine the way he was since Jenny was his everything anyway. However, if she wanted him to return to normal, there wasn't anything bad about that either. He believed that no matter his condition, his love for Jenny would not decrease by any margin.

Jenny, of course, didn't refuse Alec's request since he took the initiative to ask her. Compared to the psychiatrist Alec found himself, she trusted the one recommended by her senior more. She immediately sen the contact information to Alec, urging him to contact the psychiatrist as soon as possible.

After sending the contact information, she comforted Alec, worried he might overthink things. "I have no other intentions. Don't think too much. I'm just worried about you."

Over the phone, Alec heard how cautious she was with her words and smiled helplessly. "I know. I'm not that petty.'

They chatted for a while longer. Alec reluctantly hung up when it was getting late.

The next morning, Jenny received a call from Natalia telling her that Larry had woken up. Jenny was surprised that he had recovered so quickly. She immediately got changed and headed to the hospital. She had to see Larry in person to gauge his condition and ease her worries.

After a thorough check-up, Jenny confirmed that Larry wasn't in immediate danger. After informing the Cruzes about his optimistic condition, they all expressed their gratitude toward her.

"Dr. Walter, my parents would like to treat you to lunch. They are very grateful to you,' Natalia told Jenny as they left the hospital room.

Jenny glanced at her and politely declined, "There's no need. This is what I should do."

"But..." Natalia was still somewhat unwilling to relent. She felt that Jenny had helped them a lot, but they had nothing to repay her with.

As if knowing what she was thinking, Jenny smiled and said, "Don't feel like you owe this to me. You guys have paid for the surgery, after all.'

Her surgery fee was expensive, especially since she came from Parrington to Bardoff City to do it.

"I know you don't care about money, Dr. Walter." Although Natalia didn't spend much time with Jenny, she was sure of it. If Jenny really liked money that much, she could have just married Alec instead of going through all this trouble.

Jenny smiled but didn't nod at that comment. No one could say they didn't care about money; it was just that everyone had a different perspective on how important money was to them.

After rejecting the hospitality of Natalia's family once more, Jenny was ready to leave the hospital. Since she'd already instructed Natalia's family on what to do, she didn't have to worry about Larry's recovery anymore. The doctors in Bardoff City were experts in that aspect.

Derrick seemed to have been waiting for her as she walked out of the hospital doors. He went over to her as soon as she appeared.

"Jenny, do you have any plans for today? Let me treat you to a meal." At this point, Derrick had changed out of his white coat and was wearing a black suit, looking quite sharp.

Jenny, however, was truly uninterested in him. "I'm sorry, I'm busy today too. I appreciate your offer, Derrick, but we don't need to have a meal together.'
