The box opened, revealing a delicate cufflink. It was a deep blue shade, which suited Alec very well.

Content, he smiled. "It's gorgeous."

"Of course it is. Don't you know who chose this?" Jenny asked with a hint of pride in her eyes.

She knew it was perfect for Alec the moment she saw it, so she didn't hesitate to buy it.

"Well then, goodnight," Jenny waved at him before turning around to open the door.

"Goodnight," Alec replied.

After Jenny closed the door, Alec didn't leave immediately. He stood still and gazed at the cufflink in his hand, his eyes deep in thought.

When Jenny went to the hospital the next day, she learned that Yvonne had been discharged. She overheard some gossip from the nurses that Yvonne's enemies had come looking for her.

Curious, Jenny listened to the nurses' conversation. It turned out that a handsome man had come to see Yvonne. From the nurses' description, Jenny found him vaguely familiar.

After thinking for a while, Jenny realized that the man the nurses described was very similar to Evan.

She wanted to believe that Evan wouldn't visit Yvonne but couldn't help but recall what had happened the day before. She realized she didn't know much about Evan, so she went to the control room to replace out who had entered Yvonne's room.

It was Evan.

Jenny felt uneasy. After leaving the control room, she called Gilbert and asked, "Gilbert...do you know Evan's true identity?"

She used to believe that Evan had an ordinary job when he was overseas, but she didn't buy that anymore. How did he have so many subordinates?

Coupled with what Zeke said, Jenny guessed that Evan's men might have been involved in Xavier's case. Although most involved had been captured, Evan still had so many people. It only proved that he had many subordinates.

"True identity?" Gilbert didn't seem to understand what Jenny meant. "What do you mean?"

"Oh, I'm just asking." Jenny could tell that Gilbert didn't know more than she did.

"Is something wrong, Jenny?" Gilbert had been busy these days, dealing with company affairs as well as those of Zack and Janet Hale. He didn't know whether it was Zack who was an idiot or if Janet was just too strong. Despite presenting the evidence to Zack, his brother remained unmoved, making Gilbert anxious.

Jenny didn't want to worry him, nor did she want him to know too much, as it could be dangerous. "Nothing's wrong. Are you busy these days?"

She changed the subject in time. Fortunately, Gilbert didn't ask further questions, and the topic shifted to Zack and Janet's issues.

"I don't think Zack will give up easily." Gilbert sighed, not knowing how to advise him.

Jenny had no better way to handle the situation, so she said, "Take it easy. He won't be able to accept it immediately."

"I'm afraid he'll stick to his decision, even if he knows who the other person is and shouldn't be with her." He didn't want to argue with Zack, but Janet was not suitable for him, so he had to speak up to stop him That could very well happen, but Jenny and Gilbert knew that there was nothing else they could do except give him advice.

After ending the call, Jenny rubbed her temples, feeling that she had been increasingly bothered by things recently, and hardly anything made her happy.

Jenny decided she had to replace a way to get rid of the bad luck that had been following her.
