To Be Yours Again novel (Alec and Jenny)
Chapter 981 He's Changed a Lot

Jenny's answer was as ambiguous as it could get, and Jade didn't interrogate her further. At the end of the day, it was Jenny and Alec's business; as an outsider, it wasn't appropriate for Jade to be too nosy. "Come on. Let's go for a meal together." Max walked over to them. He'd really pull out all the stops for his confession to Jade that day.

Jenny quickly waved her hands back and forth, declining the offer, and said, "I don't think that's a good idea. We shouldn't interfere with your first date."

Max and Jade had just started dating. Jenny felt it wasn't good for her and Alec to tag along and intrude on the new couple's precious first moments together after their love had just blossomed and bore fruit. "What are you all concerned about? We're just going to eat." Max glanced at her. He didn't make plans for another round of romantic gestures for Jade at the restaurant. Instead, he merely intended to treat Jenny and Alec to a meal and thank them for coming over.

Jenny was still hesitant, but Jade said, "Come on, Jenny. It's the best time to have fondue with this heavy snowfall."

When Jade put it that way, Jenny was instantly tempted by her suggestion. She looked at Alec and asked, "Are you going?"

"Sure, I'll go." Alec nodded in confirmation. He knew that if he said he wasn't, Jenny wouldn't go either.

Since he said he was going, Jenny had no reason to refuse. Everyone followed Max and left the park. They then drove to a famous fondue restaurant in Bardoff City.

After they left, the central park was officially opened to visitors. The decorations Max put up for his confession earlier attracted the park visitors, and they soon crowded the place to take pictures. It became a popular spot for taking photos instantly.

On the way to the fondue restaurant, Max and Jade's car drove ahead, with Alec's car following from behind. Jenny sat in the front passenger seat of Alec's car as usual.

She glanced at Alec beside her, driving the car, and couldn't help but say, "It seems like your relationship with Max now is much better than when you were both in Parrington."

"Yeah. Maybe it's because of Mortimer." Alec didn't deny it.

Max didn't really hate the Fausts; he hated Mortimer and his own mother.

Now, Max's mother had passed away, and Mortimer was lying in a vegetative state in a hospital bed. If he still refused to let go of his hatred and sought vengeance on the Fausts, the hatred would consume him, and he would never be able to overcome his demons and start anew.

The moment he decided to confess to Jade, he'd already decided to let go of the past and start a new life.

"Is he still in a coma?" Jenny hadn't paid much attention to Mortimer. Alfred hardly mentioned him in front of her, let alone Alec.

Alec nodded and didn't show any emotions. It was as if Mortimer was just a stranger to him. With that, they fell silent, and neither spoke again for the rest of the journey.

Fortunately, their car pulled up at the doorstep of the fondue restaurant in no time. It seemed many people had the same idea to come and enjoy the bubbling hot fondue on a cold winter's day, so business at the restaurant was booming-they had to wait for a table. Jenny didn't mind, though, as delicious food was always worth the wait.

However, Max couldn't bear to let Jade wait since it was a special day for the both of them. Jenny didn't know what he did, but soon, they got a private room. As they sat down, the warmth from the heater dissipated the chill from their bodies.

At the dining table, Jenny watched as Max carefully asked Jade what she liked to eat. He was entirely different from his previous wayward self-no trace of his old self could be seen. Jenny couldn't help but sigh at the power of love that could change a person completely.

"I don't like how you keep staring at him like that." Alec leaned over and whispered in her ear.

Jenny snapped out of her thoughts and responded, "I just think he's changed a lot."

Alec was quick to joke. "True. He's unlike me, who has been consistently great."

Jenny rolled her eyes and stood up. "I'll go get the dipping sauce for you."
