Chapter 761 On the Brink of Death

Although Alicia didn't say it, Jenny could guess what she was thinking.

"I only told you because I didn't want others taking advantage of you. You can still seek revenge on me. After all, Jonathan's death was related to me."

Although she didn't think she was wrong, she knew it was logical for Alicia to hate her.

Alicia began to waver, and it seemed she didn't truly want to kill herself. Noticing that, Jenny continued, "Think about your brother. He sacrificed so much to save you. Do you really have the heart to let him die in vain?"

Alicia gritted her teeth. Of course, she didn't want her brother's sacrifice to be in vain. But she knew clearly that she couldn't kill Jenny. It would be difficult for her to even meet Jenny as they were from entirely different worlds.

Jenny didn't care about what she was thinking. When Alicia hesitated, she slowly moved closer to her and grabbed her when she was distracted.

Perhaps it frightened Alicia because she fell off the roof instead of toward Jenny. It caught Jenny by surprise. Fortunately, she reacted in time, grabbing Alicia's ankle with one hand and holding onto the edge of the rooftop tightly with the other.

It was also fortunate that she had some combat training and was not weak. Otherwise, she might not have been able to hold onto Alicia.

At the brink of death, Alicia began trembling. "Don't let go! I don't want to die yet."

Jenny was exasperated. She wondered to herself why Alicia made such a scene if she didn't want to die. Nonetheless, she was too afraid to speak for fear that she might end up letting go of Alicia.

All Jenny could do was pray that the rescue team would arrive soon. Otherwise, she wouldn't be able to hold on to Alicia.

Just then, Jenny heard footsteps. She didn't know who it was, but she cried, "Hurry! Pull me up."

As soon as she said that, someone grabbed her hand and then pulled her and Alicia up. It was then that Jenny discovered the person was Alec. "Thank you," she said, unsure how to feel about the situation.

"You are too impulsive! What if you didn't catch her? Do you really want to die with her?" Alec scolded her. He didn't know why he was so angry.

As soon as he heard that Jenny was on the rooftop, he rushed over immediately. Fortunately, he arrived in time, or the unthinkable might have happened.

Jenny looked at Alicia, whose legs were trembling. It seemed that she was facing difficulty standing up.

"Let's send her to the hospital first." Alicia's body was not in good condition to begin with. If something really happened to her, Jenny would feel guilty even though it wasn't her fault.

At that moment, Evan and the rescue team arrived. Although he saw Alec there, he didn't ask about it but instead accompanied them to send Alicia to the ward.

After that, it was Jenny's turn for an examination. The doctor confirmed that Jenny was fine, and Evan sighed in relief.

"You scared me."

He had panicked when he saw Jenny falling off the rooftop when he returned with the car. Although he rushed up there as fast as he could, he was still a step slower than Alec. However, he didn't feel like Alec had stolen his thunder. Instead, he thanked him for showing up on time. Otherwise, Jenny might have... Evan didn't dare to think about the consequences.

Jenny let out an embarrassed smile. "I'm sorry I made you worry. I didn't think it through at that time."

All that went through her mind was that she couldn't allow Alicia to have an accident.
