To Be Yours Again novel (Jenny and Alex)
Chapter 821 Me? Afraid of Her?

Jenny didn't retaliate against Paul's argument. He had a ton of points, especially after what happened tonight.

When Paul thought Jenny might relent, she said, "I'll send Steph back home myself."

So he ended up watching the two women leave in Evan's car until they disappeared on the horizon.

He held back the ball of anger in his chest, choosing to glare at Alec instead. "The hell is this? Can't keep your woman in check?"

Alec scoffed, rolling his eyes. "Why can't you manage yours?"

"Hey!" Paul yelled but didn't know what else to say.

Alec went up to him and patted his shoulder encouragingly. "Calm down, man. We're in the same boat here."

"No way in hell! At least there's no one else preying on Stephanie right now."

The instant Paul said that, Alec winced. It was true he wasn't the only one setting his sights on Jenny, what with Evan Clarke and Luke Faust on her tail, as well as countless other men. The thought alone was enough to send Alec into a headache.

"C'mon. Drinks on me." As if reveling in Alec's pain, Paul's mood immediately shifted for the better.

Alec accepted the offer. A drink or two might just be the trick for his headache.

Outside Brandon's villa, Yvonne was silently panicking in Brandon's car while he smoked a cigar.

"I really didn't mean to, Brandon. It was just a slip of the tongue," she tried clearing her name again. She didn't particularly like Brandon, but he was still the best she had currently, so she couldn't just give up. Brandon gave her a disinterested look, snubbing out the cigar. "Do you take me for an idiot?"

"Pack your bags and leave. Never show your face before me ever again."

Yvonne gaped at him in shock. "You're kicking me out all because of Jenny Walter?"

"Why else? You think you can stand up to her?" Brandon sneered. Where did the woman get her guts to disrespect Jenny? He didn't know.

Yvonne gritted her teeth. "I can't, but you can't just kick me out all because of one thing I said."

"Be grateful I didn't drown you in the middle of that river to redeem myself." Brandon knew exactly what that look Jenny had given him earlier meant. If he didn't do something, she would, and soon, too. The only reason Brandon was still letting Yvonne live was because of his particular affection for her.

Yvonne continued gaping at him like a goldfish. She'd thought she'd sink her claws into him enough to have him hooked on her, so this was way out of her expectations. Only now did she realize just how difficult Brandon was to manipulate compared to those bums in Parrington.

She started sobbing. "I'm sorry, Brandon. Please don't kick me out. I promise never to get in trouble with Jenny Walter again. I won't ever show up in front of her again! I really do love you, Brandon. I'd follow you till the ends of the Earth. Please let me stay."

For a split second, Brandon showed hesitation.

Yvonne seized this chance like a tick on blood. "Plus, you don't have to kick me out just because Jenny doesn't like me. Aren't you both the Elites in Bardoff City? You're not afraid of her or something, right?" "Me? Afraid of her?" Brandon scowled, successfully baited.
