Chapter 103 Caroline Is Missing

Lily asked Evan with concern, “She went out at six. Did something happen?”

Evan’s expression turned cold. “Noted.”

After hanging up, Evan called Paige.

Paige answered the phone quickly. “Is Carol home, Mr. Jordan?”

Evan asked sternly, “Did you ask her out to dinner?”

Paige panicked. “I did, but I’ve been waiting in the restaurant all this time. Her phone is turned off!”

Evan stood up abruptly, his eyes filled with coldness. “I’m hanging up now!”

He immediately called Reuben and ordered, “Caroline is missing. Send someone to look for her.”

As he spoke, he walked out of the office swiftly.

Paige panicked in the restaurant. “What should we do? Carol isn’t in Villa Rosa!”

Scott stood up quickly. “Let’s go to Redwood Neighborhood. Maybe she’s home and forgot to charge

her phone. Calm down first. It might just be her forgetfulness combined with her

sleepiness from the pregnancy.”

Paige nodded and followed Scott to Redwood Neighborhood.

The neighbor across the street opened the door after they knocked on Caroline’s door. “Stop knocking!

It’s annoying! It’s been a long time since she’s been back here!”

Scott asked, “Hasn’t she come home today, sir?”

The man glared at Scott in displeasure. “No! I’ve been home all day, so I would have heard her opening

the door if she did!”

The man slammed the door shut.

Paige was panic–stricken. “Where is Caroline? She’s been in a good mood for the past few days!”

Scott asked calmly, “Has she gotten into a conflict with anyone recently?”

Paige thought for a moment.

She raised her head soon afterward. “It’s Daniella! No one would cause trouble for Carol other than

her

Scott was visibly worried. “Let’s figure out a way to get in touch with her.”

Paige said, “Sure, I’ll figure out a way while you drive us around to look for her!”

Scott nodded.

Caroline woke up slowly when a gleam of light shone through the crack of the door. She could see

the house vaguely in the light. There was nothing there except for dust.

Caroline licked her dried lips, got up slowly, and walked over to knock on the door.

She refused to give up when there was a chance she might live by encountering a scavenger.

She knocked for a long time until her hands hurt before she rested. She sat on the ground once

again and thought about who might want to harm her.

Caroline suddenly remembered the news about Neil sometime ago.

Could it be Grayson?

Caroline’s expression was solemn because she knew that she would be doomed if it were Grayson.

At Villa Rosa.

Evan sat on the sofa in exhaustion, his eyes bloodshot.

The coldness exuding from his body terrified Reuben and Lily so much they did not dare to make

a sound.

Suddenly, the phone’s ringtone broke the heavy atmosphere of the house.

Evan grabbed the phone immediately and picked up the call after realizing it was Paige.

“Have you found Carol, Mr. Jordan?” Paige’s voice was raspy as if she had been crying. “We

searched the whole night but couldn’t replace her…”

Evan’s heart wrenched in pain. “I haven’t gotten any updates about her.”

Paige mustered the courage to say, “Mr. Jordan, you may fire me for saying this, but I think that

this is definitely Daniella’s doing!”

Evan narrowed his eyes. “Do you have any evidence to prove that?”

“I swear on my life that Daniella has been targeting Carol continuously. Please trust me and talk to her,

will you?” Paige pleaded.
