Upon returning home, Lily was thrilled to see Scott and enthusiastically prepared a feast for him.

Scott rolled up his sleeves to help in the kitchen. Caroline wanted to lend a hand too, but Scott

insisted she stay out of it.

Before dinner, Scott took the children to wash their hands while Lily carried the dishes out

As they settled in, Lily addressed Caroline, “Carol, I know it’s not my place, but I’ve observed things

over the years, and I feel I should remind you. Doctor Wilson is caring and attentive, especially to

the kids. Considering him might be best for their sake.”

Caroline fell silent momentarily. “Lily, I still need to sort things out. I don’t want to burden Scott.”

Lily reassured her, “Doctor Wilson knows that too, but he’s willing to support you regardless. You

need someone to share the pressure.”

Caroline looked down. “I already owe him so much.”

“Then why not give him a chance? You don’t have to shut yourself off from happiness, Lily urged.

Caroline glanced at the harmonious scene in the washroom, remembering how he stood by her

despite her previous rejection. She considered the possibility of accepting him.

Meanwhile, Evan received a text and location from Julian at an international five–star hotel.

Julian: [Mr. Jordan, we followed them to Bayview. They are staying in the Third Villa]

Evan extinguished his cigarette.

Evan: [Send me the resident’s information in ten minutes.]

Julian: Understood, Mr. Jordan.]

Evan drummed his fingers rhythmically on the sofa.

Bayview Villa was situated in the city center, with each villa costing over 4,000,000 dollars.

Evan’s subordinates discovered she hadn’t used the money he had given her–the sum remained

untouched in her bank account. The fact she could afford such a villa puzzled them.

Julian quickly sent Evan information about the resident of Third Villa–a person named Carolyn

Shenton.

Carolyn Shenton Caroline Shenton

The similarity between the two names made it evident that she was indeed Caroline.

Evan texted Julian, instructing him to keep an eye on Third Villa and obtain a photo of the

resident.

After dinner at Bayview, Caroline asked Scott to join her in the study. She wanted to share Axel’s

problem with him and not keep it a secret any longer.

She handed him a glass of juice and sat down on the sofa.

Scott looked at her with tender, clear eyes, asking, “Do you have something to tell me?”

Caroline nodded. “Do you remember my baby who died during childbirth?”

“Yes, I do,” Scott replied.

“He’s not dead, Caroline stated firmly. “In fact, he’s living with Evan”

Scott was taken aback. “Are you sure?

Caroline then explained the whole situation to Scott, leaving him deeply confused.

“It could be Daniella.” Scott sighed. “Do you think we should get a psychologist for Axel?‘

Caroline nodded, acknowledging her responsibility as a mother for how he turned out. She expressed

her desire for him to be physically and mentally healthy.

Scott offered, “I can try if you don’t mind I have a certificate in children’s psychology.”

Caroline looked at him, surprised. “You do? I didn’t know, given that you’re a surgeon.” Scott chuckled

and said, “I forgot to mention it earlier.”
