Chapter 373 What Brought You Here Instead?

Neil angrily pushed away Julian’s hands. Evan, you’ll regret what you did today, sooner or later! Carol

is right not to get back with you because you’ve never trusted her!”

Turning around, Neil got in the car and drove off with Caroline.

Evan remained in the same spot, his expression cold and pained. He would never have abandoned

Caroline if it weren’t for what she had done

He took a deep breath, looked away, and headed to the car, exuding a sense of desolation.

Caroline was rushed to the hospital.

When she was transferred to the ward from the emergency department, her head and body were

wrapped in bandages.

She didn’t flinch or make a sound while receiving stitches, as if she were oblivious to the pain.

Neil was heartbroken but didn’t know how to comfort her. He knew she hadn’t moved on from

Evan, and the latter had once again broken her heart

In the evening, Paige visited Caroline.

Tears welled up in her eyes when she saw Caroline lying on the bed, covered in bandages.

“Carol… Paige sobbed and called out, “You must be in pain.”

Caroline blinked slowly, turned her head to look at Paige, and managed a weak smile. “Don’t cry.”

Paige cried even harder. She held Caroline’s hand and exclaimed, “I told you you shouldn’t have

returned. Look at what’s happened to you now.”

Caroline’s fingers moved. “I have a favor to ask of you, Paige.”

Paige sniffled and said, “What is it? Tell me, and I help you for sure!”

“Take care of my children, and don’t let them know I’m in the hospital. Also, don’t let Kenny replace out so

he can manage the company properly,” Caroline said hoarsely.

Her children were still mourning Jamie’s passing, and she didn’t want them to worry about her.

Paige nodded. “Of course. I’ll look after them until you’re discharged from the hospital.” Caroline closed

her eyes. She thought that ending her relationship with Evan that way was for the

Caroline felt her heart ache but couldn’t forget what Evan had said to her. She wondered where she

had gone wrong.

After Paige left, Neil brought Caroline some chicken soup. He blew on it to cool it down before feeding

it to her.

Caroline shook her head and asked, “Neil, about the birthday party…

Neil’s movements halted, and he looked down. “Let’s not think about that right now, Carol. We can

discuss it further after you’ve recovered, okay?”

The situation they had worried about had come to pass.

The Jordans had disrupted their plans.

She wondered if Daniella was exceptionally lucky or if she still wasn’t capable enough.

At Bayview Villa.

Paige entered with her luggage.

Kenny was following a recipe on his phone, and he looked surprised when he saw Paige. “Where’s G?

Why are you here instead?”

Paige replied cheerfully, “Carol is on a business trip, and she couldn’t inform you in time.”

Kenny raised an eyebrow suspiciously. “That’s strange. Why wasn’t I informed about G’s business

trip?”

Paige chuckled nervously.

Then, she glanced at the three somber–looking children and sighed. “Well, my dear-”

Before she could finish her sentence, Tyler looked at her sternly.

Paige’s heart raced, and she asked, “Ty, why are you looking at me like that?”
