Chapter 378 Infamous

“Let’s go!” Axel grabbed Evan’s sleeve and said, “Let’s go!”

Evan’s expression turned serious as he witnessed the scene. ‘They’re acting like I wrongly accused

Caroline of causing my mother’s death! Is she so good at pretending that her kids

believed she sacrificed everything for my mother? If that’s true, why did she let my mother ride the

Ferris wheel alone?‘

Evan turned away, his face tense, and left the villa,

In the car.

Axel looked at Evan, his disappointment evident

“Mommy didn’t go on the Ferris wheel because of me I’m scared of heights! They would have all

fallen to their deaths if I weren’t there!”

Evan’s eyes narrowed at Axel’s words as he pictured the scene. Still, he couldn’t trust Caroline

after she exposed his mother’s rape incident.

Two days later, Caroline learned that Axel had been transferred to another school but didn’t know

which one. Luckily, Axel stayed in touch over the phone.

After two days of rest, Caroline could walk, grateful she only had whip marks and no fractures.

Mary suggested they go outside due to the nice weather.

Caroline accepted and slowly headed to the hospital’s yard with Mary’s help.

Sitting on a bench, Mary asked, ‘Ms. Shenton, would you like a blanket? It’s quite windy today.”

Caroline nodded. “Sure, thank you. And please bring my cup.”

“Of course.”

As Mary left, Caroline tilted her head to soak in the warm sunlight, replaceing a sense of calmness.

In a wheelchair pushed by a bodyguard, Casey spotted Caroline and signaled for the bodyguard to stay

put. “Wait here. Don’t follow.”

The bodyguard nodded. “Certainly, sir.”

Casey maneuvered his wheelchair slowly toward Caroline, observing her side profile as he

approached.

He had to admit that Evan had good taste in women. Caroline might not be conventionally

beautiful, but her delicate features combined perfectly on her face, drawing attention.

Casey smirked and remarked, “What a coincidence.

Caroline opened her eyes upon hearing his voice.

Casey saw her amber eyes illuminated by the sun and felt his heart skip a beat.

Caroline seemed guarded after spotting Casey, whose limbs were in casts. ‘What a coincidence

that we’re in the same hospital. I’m here because of his family.”

“What a coincidence indeed,” Caroline replied coldly.

Casey smiled. “Seems like you know who I am.”

“Yes. Everyone knows you’re Casey Jordan by now.”

“For my infamous reputation, huh?‘ Casey said with frustration.

aroline refused to make eye contact with Casey, wondering why he wanted to approach her.” Doesn’t

he feel any shame for what he did to Jamie?”

“I hope you don’t mind me striking up a conversation to pass the time,” Casey said.

Caroline replied, “Do as you please.”

Casey adjusted the direction of his wheelchair. “You’re quite easygoing. Aren’t you worried about

someone as terrible as me getting close to you?”

Caroline glanced at Casey’s casted leg, then closed her eyes. “What are you trying to say?”

“In theory, you’re supposed to despise me right now.
