Chapter 386 Spend All Her Money

Alex stuffed the photo into the folder and weakly said, “I’m sorry. I won’t intervene anymore.”

He had no choice but to empathize with Evan’s situation. If he were in Evan’s shoes, he would probably

suspect Caroline too. Trying to imagine how Evan felt when he saw the tragic state of his mother’s

death was nearly impossible.

No one could think clearly when faced with such a tragic loss, especially the loss of a mother.

Evan closed the drawer and locked it. Then, he stood up, glanced at his watch, and asked, “Is there

anything else?”

Alex asked, “Would you like to join me for dinner?”

“I have a business gathering. You’re free to go.” Evan replied as he picked up his jacket.

Alex nodded. ‘Alright, then.”

At 5:30 p.m., Caroline arrived at Regal Restaurant and called Paige from the car.

Paige said dully, “Carol.”

Caroline could hear the difference in Paige’s tone and asked concerningly, “What’s going on?”

Paige said quiltily, “Carol, I don’t know how to tell you this. I found out that the factory belongs to

MK.”

Caroline was relieved because she thought something bad had happened to Paige. “Don’t worry. I can

lease another factory using his penalty fee for a month.”

“Really?” Paige asked anxiously.

“Yes. Don’t worry about me. Where are the children? Are they with you?” Caroline asked with at

smile.

Paige said, “They just got home from school. Would you like to speak to them?”

Caroline checked the time and said, “Yes, please.”

Paige called out from the stairway, “Lia, Ty, Mommy’s calling!”

Soon, she heard the sound of the children going down the stairs quickly.

“Mommy! I miss you so much!” Liora said.

Tyler said, “I miss you too, Mommy.”

Caroline felt the urge to cry. “I miss you very much too, my darlings.”

She had never been away from the children for such a long time and missed them so much she could

not sleep.

Liora cried. “When will you be home, Mommy?”

Caroline said, “Don’t cry, dear. I’ll be home in a week.”

Η

Tyler said, “Don’t worry about us, Mommy. Take care of yourself and eat on time.”

Caroline said, “I know. Have you been good at obeying Godmother these days?”

“Yes, Mommy,” said the two children in unison.

Caroline said, “Godmother is not good at cooking. If you want to eat something, get her to bring you out

to eat. I’ll pay her.”

“Don’t worry about the money!” Paige called out.

Caroline laughed while Tyler said, “Don’t worry, Mommy Lia and I will do our best to spend all her

money before you’re home.”

“Hey! I’ve put up with you long enough, you brat!” Paige shouted.

Liora chimed in. “Don’t do that. Godmother is still unmarried. She will spend the rest of her life)

alone if she has no money to get herself a husband.

Caroline didn’t know whether to cry or laugh. She wondered where Liora learned to utter such

things.

However, she felt relieved to hear the children joking.

Caroline hung up after a brief conversation with the children. She exited the car and ordered the

bodyguard to bring the prepared liquor before they walked to the restaurant.

Caroline took the liquor at the entrance of the private room. “Don’t wait here. Go and eat

something.”

The bodyguard glanced at the private room, and Caroline said, “Don’t worry. I can handle this.

There are waiting staff, too.”

The bodyguard left whe Caroline took a deep breath and walked into the private room.
