Chapter 597 Needs a Father

“If that’s the case, please proceed,” Evan turned around, holding Liora in his arms, but halted abruptly

after just two steps. “Reuben!”

Reuben humedly approached from the door and called out, “Sir.”

“Reuben, do you recall a company called Goop Co. preparing for an IPO?” Evan asked.

Glancing at Ursula, Reuben nodded. ‘Yes, sir. This is Mr. Goop’s daughter, the owner of Goop Co.”

Evan instructed, “Make Goop Co. vanish from Angelbay within three days.”

Reuben nodded in agreement. “Yes, sir!”

Ursula turned pale and collapsed on the sofa.

Meanwhile, at Bayview Villa,

Paige and Caroline returned after their shopping trip.

Caroline checked the time, noticing Eira in the kitchen. “Eira, haven’t you gone to pick up Ty and Lia?”

Eira turned to Caroline and replied, “Carol, the school called and told us not to go. They said Mr.

Jordan

would send the children home. By the way, the teacher called you multiple times, but you didn’t

answer.”

Caroline grabbed her phone, discovering ten missed calls from the teacher. She felt guilty for having

her

phone on silent mode.

After calling back and learning about the situation, Caroline was stunned to hear that Liora had been

bullied at school. She worried about the psychological harm this would cause to her child.

In less than 10 minutes, Evan’s car pulled into the yard.

After spotting them from the window, Caroline hurriedly got up to welcome the children.

Evan carried Liora out of the car, and Tyler emerged from the other side, Caroline’s heart ached when

she

saw Liora asleep in Evan’s arms, her eyes still red from crying.

“Lia…”

Evan assured, ‘She’s asleep. Let’s talk inside.”

Tyler approached Caroline, his expression serious. “I’ll watch over Lia in the living room, Mommy.”

Although he wasn’t particularly fond of Evan, he recognized the importance of a fatherly figure after

this-

incident.

Caroline didn’t say anything more as Evan placed Liora on the sofa, and they headed upstairs to the

bedroom. They both sat on the bedroom sofa.

“Lia needs a father,” Evan stated.

Caroline admitted, “I know.”

Evan frowned. “At this point, you still refuse to reveal Lia’s father, don’t you? The kids don’t deserve to

be

insulted like this.”

Caroline replied, “I know. But I have a secret I can’t reveal yet. Please understand.”

Evan scrutinized Caroline. “What are you afraid of? Is it difficult for you to disclose the children’s

father?”

“Yes, it is! I don’t want to discuss it further with you,” Caroline said. “We shall end the conversation if

this

is what you wish to talk about. Thank you for standing up for Lia today!”

Evan offered comforting words, seeing that Caroline was becoming emotional. “If you don’t mind, I can

step in as the children’s father.”

Caroline was taken aback–she hadn’t expected Evan to suggest this. She wondered, Doesn’t he mind

about the children’s identity?

Caroline was about to respond when Evan’s phone rang, and he picked it up. After a brief

conversation, he

left the room hastily, leaving Caroline puzzled.

‘What’s going on? He looks quite upset, she wondered.
