Chapter 654 She Listens to You

“You’re claiming that she had an affair with Scott? Let me clarify. Caroline turned down Scott’s offer of financial support at the time. Do youthink they were together all the time? Scott was focused on his education and career while he was around. He would visit Caroline occasionallyand bring her food.

“It’s common knowledge that Caroline is proud and prefers to endure difficulties rather than accept sponsorship. Unlike you, a heiress, Carolineis not. She dated Evan before because of her gambling father and hospitalized mother. I can’t understand people like you, accusing her based ontrivial rumors. Do you think you have the right to do that?”

Kenny stood up and stated, “This discussion ends here. I must have been blind to have fallen for you. It’s

over, you idiot!”

Yuliana’s expression was unpleasant after being berated.

‘Is Caroline really like this? I replace it hard to believe. If she truly valued her pride, why did she get involved with Evan in those years? Was it dueto financial stress? What a joke! She was more than capable of being a chief secretary, right? Wasn’t her salary enough to support her family?

The more Yuliana thought about it, the more disgusted she became.

‘It’s a shame that Caroline didn’t pursue acting with her incredible skills. I won’t ever allow someone like her back into the family. She’s adisgrace to the family and my late Aunt Eleanor. On the other hand, she

doesn’t deserve to be with Evan.”

With these thoughts, Yuliana took out her phone and opened Evan’s contact.

She pondered and began typing a text message.

Just as she was about to send it, she realized she lacked enough evidence to expose Caroline’s alleged

promiscuous behavior.

Rather than confronting Caroline directly, she decided to obtain evidence from Scott.

At Xander Residence.

Greta awaited Yuliana in the living room for dinner. However, Yullana didn’t return for quite some time. When she was about to call Yuliana,Neil entered the house.

Greta stood up and asked, “You’re back, Neil. Have you been in touch with Yulla recently?”

Neil replied, “No, Aunt Greta. Is something wrong?”

Greta let out a sigh. “I haven’t seen much of Yulia lately. I have a feeling she’s dating, but she won’t tell me anything. Neil, I’m concerned shemight be making the wrong choices. Can you please talk to her?”

Neil asked, “Isn’t she home today?”

Greta took a seat and replied, “No. She came home late on Lundi Gras and left after waking up on Mardi Gras.”

Neil suddenly realized the gravity of the situation. “Understood, Aunt Greta. I’ll reach out to her.”

Greta said, “Thank you for doing this, Neil. She listens to you.”

Nell patted Greta’s shoulder and assured her, “Don’t worry, Aunt Greta.”

Upon saying that, Neil headed upstairs. As he passed Daniella’s former room, he stopped and

contemplated for a while before entering the room. To his surprise, Daniella’s belongings were still there.

Neil approached the bed and reached under it, discovering the voice recorder he had placed there earlier.

He exited the room and headed to his own room.

It had been some time since he retrieved the voice recordings. Neil transferred them to his laptop and

utilized the voice–to–text function to call Yuliana.

Yuliana answered after a brief delay and asked, “Neil, why did you decide to call me today?”

Neil chuckled. “Where are you, Yulia?”

Yuliana replied, “I’m about to have dessert with my friends.”

Neil continued. “Is that so? It’s a shame. There’s a new ice cream parlor opening on Marriott Street. I

heard it’s quite spacious. Since you’re already out, forget it then.”

Yuliana objected, “No, please! I’d love to go. It’s been a while since you treated me to a nice meal!”

Neil laughed. “Would you like me to pick you up?”

Yuliana eagerly agreed, “Sure! I’ll send you my location!”
