Chapter 939 Reuben was stunned upon hearing Caroline's remark. 'Mr. Jordan was probably in a rush to come back after learning about the incident, huh?’ Reuben looked at Scott, thinking, 'He has probably pre-arranged everything from the start! It's terrifying how intricate Scott's thoughts and planning are!’ Scott said, "Time will lessen your pain, Carol." "Stop calling my name!" Caroline's eyes widened abruptly.

She glared at Scott and snarled as if she was mustering every ounce of strength she had, "You disgust me!" Scott's hand that was placed on his

thigh clenched ever so slightly.

Before he could speak, Caroline said sarcastically, "You want me to die badly, right? If that is the case, why do you stop me then?" Caroline smirked. "I know. You're back to see if I'm properly dead, aren't you? I'm very sorry for defying your wish to die successfully!" Scott stared at Caroline nonchalantly.

She had already lost the spirited energy she once had.

After staring for a while, he turned his head and said, "Elvira, Reuben, go outside." Caroline only noticed the people behind Scott when he said that.

The resentment in Caroline's eyes faded ever so slightly when she saw Reuben. - The word 'traitor' came into her mind.

Caroline clutched the blanket tightly and watched Reuben leave the room in anger.

Sensing Caroline's gaze, Reuben kept his lips pursed in silence.

The door was shut, and Scott adjusted his sitting posture. "Caroline, do you still remember me telling you about my mother?" Scott sighed. "She engaged in self- harm behaviors just like this after the man left. It's not worth harming one's body for just a man."

Caroline thought, 'Just a man?" Caroline was so furious that her tears wet the pillow. She clenched her teeth and said, "A heartless man who resorts to dirty tricks isn't worthy of saying this!" Scott looked at her. "So, in your perception, your children are not even worth one Evan?" Caroline's heart wrenched in pain upon hearing about the children.

She did not have the courage to replace out what Scott had done to her children! She was worried that she would lose her mind if she were to replace out about more bad news! Yet, Caroline could not refrain from asking, "Where are... my

children?" Scott said, "They have been staying in the next room all this time." Caroline felt slightly relieved to know they were fine. Yet, she was heartbroken upon thinking they were imprisoned just like her.

"If you want the children to be safe, don't attempt suicide again," Scott reminded Caroline.

Caroline wanted to say something, but she could not speak.

Caroline thought, 'Do I still have the ability to make requests to Scott when he has the power to take lives so easily?" Caroline took a deep breath to suppress her longing for her children. "Are you going to keep me imprisoned and stop

me from seeing my children?" Scott said, "You are well aware of their capabilities. Do you think I'd set you free?" "What is the point of keeping me imprisoned?" Caroline calmed down gradually.

Scott raised an eyebrow. "Rest well, and let's not talk about other things for the time being." Caroline sneered. "Do I still hold any utility value to you? You've already killed those you want to kill, and you have ruined me. What else do you want to do?" Scott stood up. "Rest well. Consider doing it for the children." Scott walked out of the room with mixed feelings in his gaze.
