Chapter 966 "I'll bear the consequences I should bear," Scott said straightforwardly.

Azure nodded and said nothing more.

Silently, she looked up at the bright moon and grew fonder of Scott. She once felt that Alex was the man she liked the most before meeting Scott, but now she realized that it wasn't the case. The man who could move and charm her the most was the man who had pulled her out of the darkness.

She recalled the day when she was released. She had been resistant when her elders told her that she had to get engaged to Scott. After all, she couldn't marry the man she had never met.

But Scott's gentle and amiable demeanor changed her thoughts when she saw him conversing with the elders. It might not be a bad thing to marry that kind of man. At least, he was so much better than more than half of the rich heirs in Angelbay.

Azure returned to the villa with Scott that night. After washing up, she sat by the bed in her bathrobe and waited for Scott to exit the bathroom.

Nervously, she grabbed her bathrobe as her heartbeat started quickening. It was her first time, and she hoped that the elegant man would be nice to her.

While she was having such thoughts, Scott opened the door of the bathroom.

He got out with some dense mist.

When he saw Azure, he looked away with just a glance. "Why aren't you sleeping?" Slowly, Azure took a deep breath. "I was waiting for you." Her words brought a frown to Scott's face. "You don't have to wait for me.

Just sleep if you want." After that, he walked to the bed and lifted the blanket to lie down.

Azure looked at him in astonishment.

"Are you going to sleep?" Scott stared at her briefly. "What do you want?" Azure walked to the other side of the bed, lifted the blanket, and got into bed.

After that, she met Scott's gaze and

asked seriously, "Don't you have any thoughts, Mr. Wilson? We're engaged, and I'm your fiancee. No one will comment on it even if something happens between us." Her approach filled Scott with impatience, especially her sweet perfume. It made him want to push her away.

However, Azure mistook his silence as shyness. She simply inched closer to him and put her hand on the back of his hand.

"Mr. —" "I've got something else to handle," Scott interrupted Azure. He retrieved his hand and removed the blanket to get out of bed.

Azure stared at him as he walked to the

door, and she asked anxiously, "Are you going to leave me behind, Scott?" “ic Scott stopped in his tracks and said coldly, "We can wait until our marriage." Then he opened the door and walked away.

Azure frowned, unable to figure out the meaning of his words. He wanted to use her to steady his status, and he should be more eager than her. She wondered if her advance had made him uneasy.

After dwelling on it briefly, she figured it out. She felt that he must be a reserved man, and she was too assertive.

As expected, impatience wouldn't get

her anything she wanted, but it was fine since they had ample time to do that. ctl Scott went to the guest room instead of his study.

After lying in bed, he recalled Azure's eager face, filling him with resistance and disdain. He picked up his phone to distract himself and suppress his hatred.

However, he inexplicably scrolled to Caroline's photo icon when he clicked on his WhatsApp. As his eyes were transfixed on it, he suddenly recalled the scene when Caroline was by his I side.
