In a surprise statement today, The Minister for Defence, Lady Maureen Paddington, declared that the British Government support for Saxon Traveller is to be finalised.
“While we acknowledge the world-changing discoveries and successes of the project, Michael Hunter’s departure removes the presence of any operational Travellers in 11th Century Britain. This, therefor, concludes our participation in Saxon Traveller for the foreseeable future,” said Minister Paddington.
But her additional comments regarding Michael Hunter were far from complimentary.
“Despite his role as a Social Media icon, we must remember that Michael Hunter is a soldier,” she said. “Despite his differences with the British and Australian militaries, he is still a soldier who is legally considered AWOL: Absent Without Leave.”
Michael Hunter’s resignation letter with his stated reasons for his removal from Saxon Traveller are well known. His fears that the military will take over the projects and engage in the testing of illegal weapons and tactics have become popular discussion points for conspiracy theorists and yet have never received any comment from any Military or Government sources.
The Transporter used in the original Saxon Traveller is in the UK for its regular maintenance, while the new Transporter, Transporter 2, is still on its way from Turkey and the astonishingly successful Byzantium Traveller.
Traveller Corp will soon reveal the next nations to engage in these most audacious missions into our past, and involving those brave Travellers who, liked Sergeant Michael Hunter, so valiantly lay their lives on the line for the discovery of new knowledge.
