Chapter 583

Chapter 583

Alex and Ben were not complacent, and their expression was grave. "It's our duty as brothers to take care of our sister."

"Not only do we have to take care of Claudia, but we also have to take care of Mommy."

Claudia falling sick caused Brycen to blame himself. He felt even worse when he saw everyone shuffle back and forth busily

while he could do nothing to help. "Chastise me, Molly. I feel bad as an adult for not taking good care of Claudia." He thought he

should have noticed Claudia's condition earlier, yet he turned out to be not as good as Alex and Ben.

"Are you serious? Why should I chastise you?" Molly laughed helplessly and looked at the self-condemned Brycen. "It's common

for children to get sick. It's not your fault. Claudia is fine. All of you just go do what you need to do. No need to stay on guard

here."

After the words of admonition, Molly drove everyone away, as one patient in the family was enough.Brycen and Sawyer had not recovered, so Molly would not let them help take care of Claudia. Nor didshe need them to help take care of her. Besides, her grandfather was not in very good health. Ifeveryone stayed here, her grandfather might get sick, too.

"Let's all go downstairs. Let Claudia get a good night's sleep and sweat it out for her to recover."

Since Molly had said so, they all excused themselves, so they would not disturb Claudia. WithoutClaudia around to chatter and play, Alex and Ben were not as active as they usually were, and theatmosphere in the house became less lively.

Sean heard about Claudia's sickness when he came back from work.

After saying hello to the May family, he went upstairs to see Claudia. The little girl who usually liked tocling to him, play with him intimately, and tell him jokes was now asleep. Her chubby face flushed withan abnormal red, which hurt him to look at.

"Uncle Sean, you're here." Alex and Ben stood guard over their sister. This was because they weretriplets and both of them were older brothers. They especially felt sorry for Claudia. But now, theysensibly and quietly stayed aside.

"How's Claudia doing?" Sean just came back from outside, and he did not go close to Claudia to seeher. But, he asked Molly in a gentle voice.

"It's a fever. It hasn't gone down. Might have to keep watching if it doesn't go down tonight." Molly forced a smile when she saw

Sean. Claudia's temperature had not gone down, and she was not in the mood to do anything right now.

"Claudia will be fine. Don't worry." Sean, not knowing what to say, patted Molly on the shoulder to assure her.

Molly nodded and looked at Claudia's flushed face and did nothing. Sean left neither of them as he joined them at Claudia's

bedside. By the time Molly remembered something, it was getting late, other than Molly, there were Sean, Alex, and Ben in the

room, she glanced at her phone, looked back at Alex and Ben, and said, "It's late. You two should go to bed. I will look after

Claudia."

Children were not like adults. Their immune system was weaker, so staying up late was not good for their health. Even if they

were concerned about Claudia's condition, Molly would not let them stay up late with her.

"Mommy, we're not leaving." Alex shook his head. Their sister's fever was still high, and they wanted to keep a watch on her.

They could not go to bed without seeing Claudia get better.
