Trouble in Paradise (Arianna and Nicholas) -
Chapter 140
Chapter 0140
Tonight had been quite enjoyable
When Nicholas went to the restroom, found the or who had been sneakily taking photos earlier I asked him for the pictures on his phone and requested that he delete them.
"I'm sorry, but my husband doesn't like our private life being
exposed. However, you took some great shots. Could you send me a copy to keep as a memento?"
As compensation, I gave him a generous tip of 1.000 dollars then posted a story on Instagram visible only to Claudia before grabbing Nicholas' coat and going outside to wait for the driver to bring the car around.
While I was momentarily lost in thought something suddenly hit me hard. Wearing high heels, I staggered back a few steps struggling to regain my balance.
I looked down to replace my calf and my expensive red soled heels covered in liquid. A shattered cup of coffee lay on the ground nearby, with some milk staining the tip of my shoe.
"It's her! That's the lawyer who defended the cheating bitch!"
A sharp voice rang out from my left. I guessed that this woman was probably a fan of Zachary
Before I could fully process what was happening, the woman grabbed another cup of coffee from her friend and hurled it at me. I felt numb and didn't even try to dodge.
Zachary was a newly crowned Best Actor with millions of adoring fans. Even if I avoided this cup, how many more could I dodge in the
future? I had known this day would come the moment I took on this
Case
When a public figure admitted to infidelity, their tarnished image was bound to be condemned by the masses. But after learning about my client's situation, I decided to help her keep it confidential, So, I accepted that all of this was part of the job. After all, I was being paid for it.
As the coffee flew closer, I quickly moved Nicholas' coat behind me, but the expected pain never came. Instead, I found myself wrapped in a warm embrace.
Nicholas had stepped in, taking the hit with his back to shield me. The woman, realizing she couldn't take on a tall man like him, yelled a few more insults from a distance before fleeing. Nicholas had always been meticulous about his public image. I quickly pulled out the coat I had been hiding behind me and handed
it to him.
"Honey, the coat isn't dirty. You should put it on."
"Ariana, are you stupid? He suddenly snatched the coat from my hand, angrily demanding an explanation.
I just looked up at him, feeling a storm of emotions inside. After becoming accustomed to his kindness, it was difficult for me to accept his stern, harsh side of him again.
A sour feeling spread slowly from my chest as I tried to explain," Your coat didn't get dirty. I made sure to protect it."
His custom-tailored suit jacket was tied around my waist as he carried me toward the car.

"What's so important about the coal? Why didn't you use it is caver yourself? You just stood there like an idiot. What if I had been a lis later? Couldn't you wait for me in the car?"
I wrapped my hands around his neck, resting my head on his shoulder as I listened to his scolding.
"Nicholas, stop being so good to me!" I screamed silently in my mind. I wished I could freeze this moment in time, but that was impossible.
He said he had let down his guard around me and was willing te wipe the slate clean from our past grievances. I wondered if I should let it all go too, but I couldn't.
I was the one who had been betrayed, the one who lost my mother, the one wrongfully imprisoned and hurt, both physically and mentally. Even now, he had never once apologized for any of it.
The person who had suffered couldn't forgive, so it was impossible to just wipe the slate clean. So, Nicholas, please stop being nice to me because it would not be worth it. Today's Bonus Offer
