I struggled with all my might and finally freed my hand. Shoving him. away, I quickly stood up. As I tried to fix my clothes, my hands were still shaking. I fumbled with the button several times but I could not

He paused before continuing. His voice was calm as if he was telling a story that had nothing to do with him.

"But have you ever really thought of me as your husband? You're the one who called me and made me fly for over 10 hours to pick you up.

Nicholas laughed humorlessly as he leaned back on his hands. Ariana, if you wanted to play with me or scheme against me, you should've just killed me in bed. I'd even give you credit for that.

"You said I only wanted you for the thrill. But didn't you replace me

exciting too? Could you be as uninhibited with anyone else as you were with me?

"We were both playing games. I didn't threaten suicide when you played with my feelings, so why are you so hurt E you insist on divorce?"

Dumb... Liking someone was supposed to be romantic and beautiful. But in Nicholas's eyes, it was just dumb of me.
