True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1001
Grace smiled awkwardly in response as she looked at Maria, "Would you prefer having me accompany you here, or these two little guys instead?"
"Aunty, don't worry about me. I'm not done asking Brother Gary about my questions anyway," Maria sounded very obedient. "I understand my mommy won't abandon me, so don't worry about me Aunty, I won't cry anymore."
Grace was pleasantly surprised at how quickly this little girl adapted and accepted her current situation.
She felt much more reassured.
She looked at Gary. "He has been such a big help," she thought to herself.
"Well, Maria, I'm really happy that you' re so understanding about this," Grace smiled and praised her, "Enjoy yourself then, let Aunty know if you need anything."
"Okay, Aunty." Maria nodded.
"Then I'll leave for now." Grace pointed at the door.
"Mommy, go ahead," said Ernest, "Gary and I will be here." "Mommy, is it appropriate for you to depend on children like us to take care of another child?" Little Gary immediately guessed that Grace was planning to rush off to have a date with Old Heinz. "Oh, how romantic it must be, having a barbecue for their candlelit dinner," he imagined mockingly.
"Aren't you a self-proclaimed genius? Grace asked in return, "Also, you've never seen yourself as a child anyway, so wouldn't it be rude of me to not see you that way as well?" "Mommy!" He called out.
"My dear son, I'm doing this for your own good. This is a great opportunity for you to be the best brother ever." Grace gave him a pat on his shoulder.
"Forget it. Why don't you call Lowell over and let him have a chance at being the best uncle ever instead?"
"Little Gary, stop wasting Aunty's time. I still have many other questions for you," Maria tugged at his sleeves, "You still have not explained what "problematic" means in that context." He rolled his eyes this time and wailed as he sat on the guest room's bed.
Grace could not help but laugh as she walked out.
It looked like there was finally someone to control Little Gary. She couldn't help but wish that Maria was truly her cousin's child, so that she could grow up with Little Gary and Ernest. That way, it would be perfect.
She then left the room in hopes of having her dreams come true.
Outside, Heinz found everything that happened inside funny as well. He said quietly, "Finally there's someone who can help us deal with Little Gary."
"That is why they say there would always be a nemesis of your own kind," Grace responded. "It looks like we should invite Maria over more frequently, so that we can rest more often."
He raised his eyebrows and smiled in a doting manner, "That's your own biological son. Is it really fine for you to bully him that way?"
"Am I not doing this for you?" She glanced at him, "If it wasn't for the fact that he hasn't addressed you as his dad, I wouldn't be hoping for this either."
"Well, thank you, my dear wife," Heinz held her in his arms.
"Oh please don't call me like that." Grace patted his hand and said, "I'm a little hungry. Go and get me some food. I'll be waiting for you here."
"Let's go out and eat together instead," Heinz said.
"No, I want to stay here and listen to how Maria continues to annoy Little Gary. Go get me some food and bring me a chair. I want to sit here and eat and listen at the same time." Heinz sighed. What a way to behave as his biological mom, as she was so thrilled to watch her son embarrass himself. He felt speechless regarding it.
"Okay, I'll go get it for you."
After a while, he came back with a small table filled with various types of food on top. The housekeeper brought a chair over as well.
Soon, Grace started eating in the corridor outside the guest room.
In the room, Maria was still asking, "Why aren't you talking? You still haven't answered my question yet."
"Oh my gosh, Maria, can you let me go already? Why do you have so many questions? You' re gonna stress me to death."
"Are you very weak?" She did not understand him, "Are you really so weak that you could get stressed so easily just from answering some questions?"
He felt embarrassed.
He frowned and explained helplessly, "In that context, having problematic eyes means not being
able to see his target despite having his eyes wide open. That's worse than being blind for real." "Why?" Maria asked again, "Wouldn't that be an insult to those people who were really blind?"
Gary answered helplessly, "It's also an insult to me when you repeatedly ask me questions like this. I have no dignity left."
"Why? How did my questions insult you and make you lose your dignity? My mommy said that people with dignity naturally won't have to fight for it; likewise, those without dignity wouldn't have to care about it either. Gary, does this mean that you have no dignity?"
She said so many things at one go without any hesitation, which made him speechless immediately.
"Ernest!" Little Gary looked at him and said, "Come here."
Ernest shrugged and smiled at him, "Gary, Maria is asking you, not me."
"That's right. Little Gary, don't just leave the questions to Ernest. You're obviously the one I'm asking. You can't just expect me to be satisfied with his answers when I want to hear them from you instead," Maria persisted.
Little Gary was at a loss for words. "Are you sure you must only ask me all these questions?"
"Yes," Maria nodded, "My mommy said I have to persevere through the moment I'm sure of something, and that I can't just give up halfway or I won't be able to achieve anything."
"Your mommy is such a genius," Little Gary couldn't help but whine. "Were you all born to bully me?"
"My mommy isn't a genius. She's just very hardworking, but even she hasn't succeeded yet. Hence, I'm not a genius either, so I'll have to be hardworking."
"You are a genius," Little Gary was so close to going crazy, "I think you inherited your daddy's genes instead of your mommy's genes because your daddy is certainly a genius. That's why you're such a genius in defeating me as well. I surrender to you."
"Little Gary, really?" Maria was very excited. "Since you know that my daddy is a genius, then you must know his whereabouts as well, right?"
He was speechless. "Don't your mommy know where your daddy is?"
"My mommy said that my daddy went to heaven," Maria said, "Does going to heaven mean dying? If so, does that mean my daddy has passed away?"
"Eh, I doubt so," Little Gary suddenly regained his senses after blinking. "If your mommy claimed that your daddy went to heaven, then he must still be alive." "Then quickly take me to my father." Maria jumped out of bed in excitement as she started dragging him towards the door.
