At the Lowes' place.

When Zachary returned home with his daughter, his mother was not in the living room. The house was quiet.

"Daddy, is this your home?" Maria looked at the huge living room. It was big and quiet. Somehow it felt a little lonely as well.

"This is our home." Zachary led his daughter to the sofa, sat down, and said to her, "This will be your home now."

She opened her eyes wide and looked at her father. Then, she opened her mouth and smiled.

Her eyes were still red from crying, but when she smiled, her eyes were dazzling.

When the butler saw Zachary bringing back a child who resembled him, he was surprised at first, but he easily figured out what was going on.

He looked at them and said, "Young Master Zachary, I'll call Madam Nerissa down."

"Go ahead. Oh, and also make something delicious," Zachary instructed.

"Yes, yes!" The butler nodded his head strongly.

"I'm on my way."

Nerissa was upstairs. She had nothing to do that day, so she was doing embroidery to kill some time.

The butler knocked on her door.

"Knock! Knock! Knock!" Nerissa's soft voice could be heard, "Come in."

"Madam Nerissa." The butler pushed the door open and called out excitedly, "Young Master Zachary is back. He brought a child with him. She looks a lot like the young master." "What?" Nerissa was stunned. She looked at the butler in shock and asked, "What child?"

"She's a five or six-year-old girl. She's very cute and seems to be a lovely little girl. She's very beautiful and looks just like the young master when he was a child. This child is a girl, but she really looks a lot like him."

"Did Zachary say anything about her? Which family did she come from?" Nerissa stood up excitedly. Over the years, her son had never been in love with anyone, and he had never brought a woman back. She always thought that her son would not fall in love.

"He didn't say anything," the butler said. "But I heard the child calling the young master 'daddy'."

"Ah!" Nerissa's body trembled a little with excitement. She immediately put down the needle and thread in her hands and walked out. "Let's go and have a look."

"Yes!" The butler hurried downstairs with her.

Nerissa was so excited that she ran down. She was wearing her reading glasses and quickly took them off her face and held it in her hand.

When she arrived, she saw a cute little girl in a dress sitting on the sofa from a distance away.

The child was wearing a pink dress and her hair was combed into a bun, which made her look more adorable.

Nerissa stood on the last step of the stairs and looked at the child in front of her with excitement. Her eyes were full of surprise and shock.

She really couldn't believe it.

The resemblance was just uncanny.

They really looked like each other.

The child looked too similar to Zachary.

The butler's eyes also lit up.

Maria probably felt something and immediately looked up in the direction of the stairs. She saw a kind old lady standing on the last step of the stairs, unmoving.

She was looking at her, and the expression on her face was full of surprise.

Maria immediately held one of Zachary's fingers carefully and whispered, "Daddy, Daddy."

Zachary glanced at the child and stood up. His gaze then fell to his mother.

"Mom!"

Nerissa immediately came over. When the girl was right in front of her eyes, she couldn't help but feel more excited. She looked at her son and then at the child. She looked back and forth several times. "This, this child is?"

"She's your granddaughter and my daughter," Zachary replied honestly.

His tone was somewhat tense and uneasy. He knew that he had always been a good son in the past few years.

He had never thought that he would go against his mother's will and let her down by having a child before he got married. This was really the biggest mishap of his life.

However, he did not regret it at all.

Nerissa was completely stunned when she heard the news.

Her eyes were wide open. When she looked at the child, there was only joy in her eyes. There was no disgust or any other negative emotions. She excitedly threw her glasses onto the coffee table. "Oh, my granddaughter. This is such a big surprise." With a smile, Nerissa squatted down and looked at Maria.

Her kind eyes fell onto her little face. There was a smile on Nerissa's face, and her hands were slightly trembling as she reached out to gently hold Maria's other hand. It was small and soft in Nerissa's hand. Zachary said in a low voice, "Maria, this is your grandmother."

"Grandma," Maria immediately called out sweetly. Her voice was full of innocence, and it sounded cute.

"Ah!" Nerissa was so excited that she could only exclaim.

Maria opened her mouth again. "Hello, Grandma. I'm Maria Attwood. Today I'm glad to have a daddy and a grandma. Thank you for coming to see me. I'm very happy to see you."

"Oh, she's sweet." Nerissa was happy from the bottom of her heart. She looked at Maria and praised her excitedly, "Oh, my good granddaughter. How nice you are!"

Maria was a smart girl. She smiled and said, "That's because I look like my father."

Zachary smiled silently. Hearing her say that felt like she was complementing the good genes in their family.

He now knew that her child had a sweet mouth.

Nerissa smiled. She held Maria in her arms tightly. Tears flashed in her eyes as she hugged the child.

She felt that Maria was such an adorable little girl with a sweet mouth that could touch people's hearts.

She felt her heart surging and leaping more the longer she hugged the girl. It was probably because they shared the same blood.

The last time when she saw Grace's children, she already thought about it and couldn't wait to have her own grandchildren. Who knew that her wish would be fulfilled so quickly? Maria totally captured Nerissa's heart.

She was filled only with happiness and joy at this moment. From the moment her husband passed away, she only had her son with her. Her relatives and siblings were all in Southland and she felt lonely being in Northern City alone.

Having a granddaughter out of the blue made her happy.

"Mom, let's sit on the sofa first." Zachary helped his mother to her feet.

Nerissa sat on the sofa with Maria in her lap.

She looked at her granddaughter and asked, "Maria, baby, where is your mommy? Why didn't she come with you?"

"Mommy doesn't want me anymore." Maria's eyes turned red again when she heard the mention of her mother.

"Ah?" Madam Nerissa was shocked and looked at Zachary. "What's going on?"

"Mom, there's a misunderstanding." He sat down and rubbed the crease between his eyebrows. "We haven't eaten yet. Let's hurry up and eat, then I'll tell you later."
