Zachary was taken aback by this question and his heart skipped a beat, "This child is mature for her age."

It seemed like he had to be more cautious, or else Maria would soon learn the reason behind his abnormal behavior.

"No." He answered, "Maria, there's news regarding your mom. I've already sent my subordinates to investigate her. You don't have to worry. She is going to come back really soon."

In the end, he did not tell her that Yvonne had returned and that she even went to her old kindergarten.

He was very neutral with Maria. He did not want to

lie to her.

Maria thought for a moment and said, "Dad, the reason why you picked me up early is because you are afraid that Mommy would come and take me away? Are you worried that I would leave you?" He was caught off guard by the question.

The reason why he picked her up so early that day was simply because of him acting on impulse.
