True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1149
Zachary was shocked. Her words were like firewood that could easily light up a fire.
His eyes surged as he stared at Yvonne, "Are you sure?"
Only then did Yvonne realize what she meant by inviting him into the shower, causing her to start blushing.
"Achoo!"
She sneezed again, which resolved the moment of awkwardness between them.
She covered her mouth and made up her mind. "Let's go together, or you're going to catch a cold after waiting for so long."
Zachary was still hesitating.
Yvonne rubbed her nose while her other hand continued to hold onto Zachary's sleeve.
With a little more strength, she could probably rip up his sleeve.
The knuckles of her delicate and fair hands were turning white due to how much strength she was exerting.
When she noticed how he stared at her silently, she smiled embarrassedly and attempted to let go.
Yet, she couldn't help but to try one last time. "Don't be so melodramatic, okay? We can save so much time by showering together. If we waste more time, we're both going to catch a cold." Zachary frowned and asked in a deep voice, "Are you sure you want the both of us to shower together?"
He sounded hoarse and his voice clearly conveyed the emotions and hidden meaning behind his question.
Yvonne loosened her grip.
Zachary's eyes narrowed.
Yvonne immediately reached out to grab his hand and nodded her head. "I'm sure, very sure. Zachary, I've never ever felt so sure in my entire life."
She loved Zachary.
This man was the only love of her life.
What was there for her to be uncertain about?
The next second, the door of the bathroom was closed.
Zachary threw her into the bathtub.
The water from the tub splashed everywhere.
The warmth of this room combined with the heat of the bath water.
Naturally, Yvonne couldn't escape from getting handled by him.
More than an hour passed.
Zachary finally let go of her. When she returned to the bedroom, she buried her face under the blanket to avoid looking at Zachary.
Otherwise, she would feel embarrassed.
They didn't say anything but merely expressed each other's feelings through practical actions.
Some things were like that. At the start, one might have to take a while to overcome the sense of embarrassment, but afterwards, one would realize that there was also an embarrassing aftermath to deal with. This was seriously embarrassing.
She took a deep breath under the blanket.
The room was completely quiet, without any sound.
Yvonne was in a daze for a long time before she realized that there was no sound at all. She lifted a corner of the blanket to identify slowly if Zachary was also in the room, and ended up looking into his eyes, which were looking at her.
His gaze was deep, surging and sharp. He looked at her like this without blinking, as if he could suck in her emotions through his eyes alone.
Yvonne felt rather flustered and blushed even more, and then proceeded to hide herself under the blanket again.
Zachary did not expose her embarrassment either. He simply continued to stare at her while a hint of radiance flashed through his eyes. Yvonne felt like she was acting too melodramatic. Why did she have to behave like this after her actions just now?
She then decided to pull down the blanket and try to look natural as she asked Zachary, "Do you have a set of clothes to change into?" Zachary did not speak.
Yvonne looked at him, and only then did she realize that he had already changed into a set of loungewear.
She didn't know when he had kept this here.
It was of a grayish white color and looked really sporty and casual.
Yvonne was a bit embarrassed and said, "Since when have you kept your clothes here?"
Zachary said, "A long time ago."
He merely said four words without explaining much.
However, Yvonne still felt a sense of coldness, stemming from loneliness, from him.
He must have come here often enough to leave a speck of his lingering aura.
Yvonne felt a lump in her throat. She hurriedly turned her back towards Zachary as her eyes started tearing up.
She had missed too much time. She couldn't even begin to fathom how much her actions had hurt him.
Yvonne felt upset and even more apologetic towards Zachary.
Zachary also looked at her back in a daze. His eyes were surging, but he did not say anything. After what had happened just now, he looked languid. So, his gaze also became more sluggish as a result.
He looked at her back in a daze.
She was gentle and beautiful.
This was in spite of the fact that they had missed out on seven years, and that she secretly left and gave birth to Maria, as well as how she abandoned Maria for him to take care of, and disappeared for more than a year.
Apart from all those, everything was fine.
However, he still had no idea why she had left the country twice.
Zachary couldn't stop his anger from rising.
He looked at her and said angrily, "You, turn around."
Yvonne stiffened and slowly turned around. Her eyes were slightly red and filled with fear as she stared at him.
She knew that he was angry again.
When Zachary saw her expression, he frowned even more.
He sat down by the bed with his eyes darkening. "Yvonne, I'm going to ask you one more time. Why did you come back this time?"
Yvonne pursed her lips. She knew in her heart that he had given her a chance. If she still wasn't going to reveal her actual reason, then she probably wouldn't have a chance anymore.
She hesitated for a moment, and then said softly, "I came back for you and Maria."
Zachary's eyes narrowed.
For him and Maria? She was really greedy.
He smiled gently, and his eyes were full of rage and mockery. "Were you so certain that I would absolutely be with you?"
"I was not sure." Yvonne shook her head. "I only know that I'm your lover. In that case, I'll abide by your requirements and do whatever you want me to. Whatever you don't want me to do, I won't do it." "Yes, you are my lover." Zachary was angered by her seemingly sensible answer. He continued on. "You're just my lover, so that's the only identity you can go with if you wish to be with me or Maria." Yvonne's heart felt hurt again, but she squeezed out a smile. "Zachary, don't be angry at me. I'll be obedient."
Obedient?
If she had truly been obedient, things wouldn't have turned out this way.
He stared at her with resentment. When he noticed how serious she looked without any hint of being calculative at all, he was further enraged at how she had left and caught him off guard.
He really couldn't figure out why she would pull such a stunt.
"Why did you leave back then?" Zachary asked again.
Yvonne suddenly froze. She immediately lowered her eyes in an innocent manner. "I... I just felt scared. Zachary, don't ask about it anymore. It was my fault in the past, but I can't answer you. I can answer any other questions that you may have."
"Hmph!" Zachary snorted and said sarcastically, "Then, why did you leave one year ago? Can you answer that question then?"
"I..." Yvonne froze again and didn't dare to look at Zachary.
"Look at me." Zachary reckoned in a deep voice.
Yvonne could only raise her eyes. She looked at Zachary and said, "I suddenly bumped into you and you found out that I had given birth to Maria. I was afraid and didn't know how to explain it. So, I disappeared."
That was definitely not the truth.
