Zachary replied faintly, "Of course I won't take it to heart! I believe that you have been greatly troubled by Yvonne staying with you all these years at the Attwood family."

"She's my own daughter. Why would I be troubled?" Benjamin was a bit proud of himself, even putting on airs to show that he was a great dad.

Zachary glanced at him and added, "Of course, it's Mr. Attwood's responsibility. It's your duty as her father to raise her properly."

Benjamin pursed his lips, but he didn't say anything. Perhaps he was at a loss for words.

Zachary continued, "Her grandma has been raising her for so many years. Thus, I have no right to complain about her."

"However, Yvonne's grandma was not pleased with her returning home. Perhaps she has aged, so we do not wish to make her mad. Hence, I think it is best for Mr. Attwood to take up the responsibility to look after Madam Elaine and not let her feel lonely." "It's easy for the elderly to feel abandoned, which may lead to her having a bad temper. I'm sure that this will be a greater burden to you, Mr. Attwood."

"In order to avoid increasing your burden and upsetting Yvonne's grandma, Yvonne will be returning home less frequently."

"This... How is this possible?" Benjamin became anxious when he heard this and tried to argue, "Yvonne is my daughter. How can my daughter not go back to her own home after getting married?" Zachary looked at Benjamin, who had just questioned him as though he was the one who made Yvonne sad.

Zachary smirked and just replied calmly, "Go back to her home? Does she have a mother at home?"

Benjamin was dumbfounded for a moment, and an embarrassed expression flashed across his face.

"Where is her home?" Zachary was still smirking. He still seemed so indifferent and calm, but his smile was not a genuine smile.

Benjamin's expression became even stiffer. He stared at Zachary, and an array of emotions flashed across his gaze. He pursed his lips and said after a long while, "Zachary, are you joking with me?" "Am I? Mr. Attwood, do you think I'm joking?" Zachary still had a smile on his face, but his gaze seemed colder and more livid.

"Yeah, you must be joking. I've divorced Yvonne's mother for so many years. Her mother is irresponsible and did not carry out her duty as a mother, but my current wife is a good mother," Benjamin said shamelessly.

Around the corner, Yvonne was eavesdropping on their conversation. She was so mad that she trembled violently.

Her hands were clenched so tightly that her nails had dug into her palm. Yet, she felt nothing.

She was really so speechless with this father of hers.

How could he be so shameless?

At the same time, this man was her biological father. She felt so ashamed, but there was nothing she could do about it. She really wanted to rush in and ask Benjamin to get out.

However, she remained level-headed.

She could see that Zachary was handling the situation well. In fact, he was in charge of the whole conversation.

Therefore, she suppressed the anger in her heart and did not rush in impulsively.

"A good mother?" Zachary scoffed and asked, "Let me ask you this, Mr. Attwood, is the child you mentioned really Yvonne? Your current wife is a good mother, but to whom?"

Benjamin was once again stupefied by the question. He couldn't help but feel humiliated and his face reddened. A few seconds later, he straightened his posture and asked, "Did Yvonne say something to you and cause a misunderstanding? Zachary, call Yvonne here, I want to talk to her. Has she become so bold to not even care about this father of hers?"

"She is indeed a bold person," Zachary remarked faintly, "If she isn't bold, how could she just decide to leave this place and head overseas to pursue her studies all on her own? She even brought her kid along with her."

Benjamin was stunned for a moment before gasping in shock, "What did you say? Yvonne was studying overseas?"

Seeing how Benjamin reacted, Zachary could assume that he had no knowledge of this.

As her biological father, how could he not know what was going on in Yvonne's life at all?

He was just the person who helped give birth to her. He didn't bring any help or support to Yvonne at all.

Zachary scoffed.

Yet, this man still wanted to show off his fatherhood.

The only contribution he had to Yvonne's wellbeing was his sperm, and he still had the guts to come asking for benefits?

It was extremely ridiculous.

Zachary stared at Benjamin coldly and asked, "Mr. Attwood, since you're Yvonne's father and you have such a good wife, your wife should know about it. Why don't you call her and ask if she knows?" "I... Of course I know," Benjamin tweaked his words again. When he heard Zachary saying so, he quickly tried to laugh it off, "I just forgot it for a moment."

"Really?" Zachary's tone was still cold and distant as he continued, "It seems that Mr. Attwood is a father who forgets things easily."

"That is because I'm a generous person," Benjamin started looking for excuses again.

From Zachary's point of view, this was just another play of words.

He wanted to laugh out loud at Benjamin's cheap antics.

"Mr. Attwood, where is Yvonne's home?" Zachary changed the subject and asked again, "Now if she were to return home, does she have a room to sleep in? Does the room come with adequate furniture?" Benjamin was dumbfounded once again. He gaped, the redness spreading from his face to the tip of his ears. He awkwardly answered Zachary, "That's when she was a child. I can buy her a new one. I can furnish her room so she can go back at anytime."

'Did she really have a room when she was a child?" Zachary asked again. Without leaving any room for Benjamin to think it over, he said bluntly, "Could it be possible that you are too generous and have remembered things wrongly once again? Madam Elaine claimed that she was the one who brought up Yvonne, but now you're saying the same thing too. I'm curious. Who on earth is the liar here?" "She...!" Benjamin was immediately stumped by the question.

He turned his head and looked elsewhere. He didn't dare to look at Zachary since he had just been humiliated.

But very quickly, he changed the topic and asked, "Where's Yvonne? Where is she? I've been here for so long, and I haven't even seen that girl. Could it be that she really doesn't want to see this poor father of hers anymore?"

"Mr. Attwood, Yvonne is a kind girl and she has her principles. She is definitely different from some irresponsible brute. She is very independent now and doesn't need you to look after her anymore. Thus, you don't have to worry about her anymore, Mr. Attwood. She's just a little tired and is resting upstairs. I can't bear to wake her up, so unfortunately, you won't get to see Yvonne today!"

"She's not going to see me?" Benjamin could tell that Zachary was being sarcastic. He also threw caution to the wind and continued, "Zachary, I can understand what you're trying to say. It's a good thing that Yvonne doesn't have to rely on me, but I'm old now. Yvonne needs to support me."

"Oh, really?" Zachary grinned, "Mr. Attwood, you look so young but you are claiming to be an old man? If Madam Elaine were to hear this, what would she say?"

"I have to support my mother, and Yvonne has to support me. This is how things should be," Benjamin decided to risk everything and announced loudly, "You're Yvonne's husband now, so it is also your obligation to support me as well."
