Yvonne was puzzled. She seemed to have noticed that there was a trace of enviousness in his tone. She quickly added, "I also helped Mr. Trevino in return. We helped each other. Even though I was not of great help to him, the favour is still there." "What did you help him with?" Zachary frowned.

"You will know in the future."

"I want to know now," He started acting a little stubborn and willful.

Yvonne shook her head and was firm, "Regarding this, I'll tell you next time, okay?"

"No," He shook his head and looked at Yvonne with a bit of grievance in his eyes.

Yvonne was a bit puzzled by his pitiful gaze, and she couldn't bear to see him act this way. She didn't wish to keep him in the dark anymore.

She sighed and confessed softly, "I pretended to be his girlfriend."

She was just doing him a favor, so nothing happened between them.

But when Zachary heard this, he instantly frowned and the atmosphere fell silent.

Yvonne was startled.

"Don't overthink it. Nothing happened between Mr. Trevino and I. We were not in a relationship and it's impossible for us to be in a relationship." Despite her words, Zachary still felt upset.

His own woman had gone overseas and was left with no choice but to rely on someone like Fabian for help.

They were his wife and daughter, but they needed to rely on someone else.

Furthermore, for Yvonne to survive, she had to pretend to be Fabian's girlfriend.

That made him uncomfortable.

Zachary took a deep breath. He didn't want to show that he was exasperated but his expression changed regardless.

His face was pale as paper and even the tone of his voice changed.

Yvonne added nervously, "There's nothing going on between us."

Zachary nodded and sighed, "I know, but I'm just not in a good mood."

How could a man be pleased to hear that his own wife had pretended to be another man's wife just so she and their child would have a peaceful life?

He was blaming himself.

It was not just pure envy.

He hated himself.

"Zachary," Yvonne said softly.

Zachary looked a little absent-minded. He shook his head and said, "I'm fine. I'm not angry. Don't think too much."

He was just blaming himself.

Yvonne also heaved a sigh of relief when she heard that he was not upset. She carefully looked up at him and found that Zachary was looking somewhere else. No one knew what was going on in his mind. She felt uneasy again, with no idea how to solve this situation.

A series of irritating events occurred today. First, Benjamin had come knocking on their door demanding ten million as a betrothal gift. After getting rejected, he started throwing a tantrum.

Then, she accidentally mentioned Mr. Trevino. The look on Zachary's face made her worried.

"Zachary?" Seeing that he had fallen silent for such a long time, Yvonne decided to ask again.

Zachary came to his senses and looked at the worried Yvonne before saying, "Yvonne, I already knew that there's nothing going on between you and Fabian."

"You knew?" Yvonne was shocked and looked at Zachary in disbelief.

How could he believe it?

"Of course," After a moment of silence, Zachary said slowly, "You are not that kind of person, and I know men well. If a man really cares about that particular woman, he will have an extremely perverted dominance over her. Fortunately, Fabian doesn't treat you that way. He wants you to be happy."

This was the conclusion that he came up with after Fabian came and told him the reasons why Yvonne left back then.

"You... How did you get to know Mr. Trevino?" Yvonne was quite puzzled. She muttered, "Mr. Trevino is an exception, Zachary."

"I still believe you," Zachary insisted firmly, "I'm just blaming myself for not taking good care of you and Maria."

"Zachary," Yvonne looked at him, stupefied.

There was a flash of guilt on his face as he sighed, "I'm upset that I didn't fulfill my responsibilities as a father. Although I am a little envious, I'm not someone who is irrational and ruthless. I believe that nothing happened between you and Fabian." "Zachary," Yvonne was really moved.

She had never expected Zachary to say that. It was really a surprise.

Perhaps, it was time for her to reveal to him Mr. Trevino's secret.

It was because Zachary was such a good person.

She had the urge to tell him right away. Yvonne stared at Zachary and blurted, "Zachary, do you really trust me? Do you really believe that nothing happened between Mr. Trevino and me?"

Zachary nodded, "Of course."

After taking a deep breath, Yvonne held back her thumping heart and said, "Thank you for trusting me. Even if there might be some rumors regarding me and somebody else, you can be rest assured that there are no rumors regarding me and Fabian."

Zachary was puzzled, "What do you mean?"

Yvonne laughed, "It's impossible, because Mr. Trevino is...!"

At this very moment, the phone rang before she could finish her sentence.

It was Fabian who was calling.

Yvonne glanced at the number and smiled, "Mr. Trevino called. I'll answer the phone first."

Zachary nodded.

Even though his heart was still heavy, he still felt a

bit more relaxed.

Seeing as Yvonne had gone to answer the phone, Zachary returned to the sofa and sat down. He looked back at his father's portrait, a complex emotion brewing in his eyes.

"Hello, Mr. Trevino," Yvonne's tone was very light.

"Congratulations, Yvonne. You're married," Fabian's elegant voice echoed from the other end of the phone, "Seems like that stinky man is not that dumb after all. At the very least, he knows how to obtain the marriage certificate first."

"It seems like there is nothing that you are unaware of," Yvonne also felt very delighted, "How did you replace out?"

"Is there anything that I can't replace out?" Fabian replied with a smile, "Otherwise, they would have found you long ago back when you were in the United States."

"Yes, of course," Yvonne chuckled, "It's all thanks to you. Just now, I mentioned you to Zachary."

"What did you say?"

Yvonne said, "I want to tell him that secret."

"No, you can't," Fabian uttered softly, "Yvonne, if you betray our friendship, I'll make sure that Zachary misunderstands our relationship."

Despite being threatened, Yvonne laughed heartily,

"This secret has been kept for far too long. No one can help you keep it a secret anymore now that I'm married. You can't just continue to live like this. Felicia, how old are you?" "Shut up," Fabian shouted, "Don't call me by that disgusting name. I am a man, remember that."

Yvonne sighed, "I understand, but are you not tired of living such a life?"

"Get lost," Fabian shot back, "It's only been a few days and you are already planning to betray me? Don't you forget that I was the one who stayed by your side for the past five years." "Do you really don't want me to say it?" Yvonne also grew serious.

"Don't say it," Fabian insisted, "It's not the right time yet."

Yvonne could only give in, "Alright. Then when I get married, who is supposed to be my bridesmaid?"

"Grace and Alice. Both of them are married. I've looked into it, the two of them as your bridesmaids won't bring any trouble to you."

Yvonne didn't know what to say, "You've even looked into this?"
