True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1254
Gary glanced at Ernest and twitched his lips slightly.
Ernest also smiled, then Gary walked towards him.
The two brothers stood together, facing everyone, and people couldn't help but exclaim.
The sight was really pleasing to the eyes.
They were both too handsome.
They were both gorgeous, talented boys.
"The banquet can officially begin," Alice said, "Gary and Ernest, hurry up. We're waiting for the two of you now."
"Why don't you two say something before we get seated," William said.
Gary directed his gaze at William. Upon noticing how his wrinkled face was full of smiles, he smiled in return as well.
"Ernest, go ahead."
After that, Gary took his seat.
William said, "Gary, you're the eldest brother; you should take the lead."
Gary didn't feel bad being called out at all.
He nodded and said, "Then the elders should definitely say something instead. I hope that you will still be around after I've graduated and returned to the country."
William was taken back. He certainly wasn't pleased being called out. "You brat, I won't die so easily. I will definitely still be around after you've graduated and returned home. Your dad said that I'll have to live for another twenty years; I'm definitely looking forward to that."
"That would be best," Gary said nonchalantly, "You better live for a thousand years."
"Are you trying to mock me as that bastard tortoise who lived for a thousand years?" As William grew older, he had also become more and more like a man- child. Therefore, whenever he attended a gathering, it would be filled with laughter.
As long as William was here, the whole family would be filled with continuous laughter and joyous moments.
Everyone no longer felt surprised upon looking at the way they interacted with one another.
Gary then responded, "That wasn't what I meant at all; you were the one who brought it up yourself. But, Great- grandpa, now that you mentioned it, your eyes are drooping so much. Combined with your sharp gaze, you really do look as though you have tortoise eyes."
"Hahaha," William laughed and patted his thigh excitedly. He didn't look like he was in his nineties at all. Instead, he looked like a prideful man-child.
Everyone laughed and felt elated upon looking at how much William was enjoying himself.
They knew that he was truly happy to see his greatgrandchildren growing up, so he could still accept such jokes joyfully.
All of a sudden, William laughed out loud, "Gary, did you just address me as your great-grandpa."
The crowd burst into an uproar.
Gary had finally called William Great-grandpa.
Everyone directed their gaze at William with a flash of surprise in their eyes, especially Heinz.
He was even more astonished. Had the sun just risen from the west?
Gary didn't think much of it when everyone looked at him. He looked at William and said, "Although you're confident that you can live for another ten years, I'm not so confident, so I'm worried that I'll regret this for the rest of my life if I don't call you great-grandpa now." "Hahaha," William burst out laughing once again,
"You have a point."
Gary looked at Ernest and said to everyone, "Isn't Ernest supposed to say something? How is he going to speak if you guys keep on interrupting him?"
"Speak, Ernest, speak," William waved his hand, gesturing for him to speak. He, on the other hand, was looking at Gary with a look of kindness and satisfaction. He even glanced at Heinz.
It was one full of pride.
Of course, Heinz knew that his grandfather was showing off to him, as though to say, "Look, he just called me great-grandpa, so when is going to call you dad now?"
Heinz instantly felt depressed as he looked at William and then Gary.
Gary didn't even look at him at all, as if he didn't exist at all. He simply looked calm and rightful.
Alright, forget it. There was no point for him to overthink since that would be too much of a luxury anyway.
Gary was unusually quiet. In a peaceful atmosphere, everyone enjoyed the meal, then gave a lot of advice to Gary and Ernest before they finally left.
The rain had already stopped.
When Zachary and Yvonne were ready to leave with their children, Maria's eyes were still glued to her phone.
"Maria, let's go." Zachary rushed her.
"Ah!" Maria suddenly shouted, which startled everyone.
"What is it?"
"I want to study abroad too; I want to go to England," Maria exclaimed while holding her phone.
A glimmer of light flashed across Gary's eyes. He looked at Maria with a faint smile on his face.
Ernest frowned and turned to look at Gary as if he was trying to get a glimpse of what was happening through his eyes.
However, his eyes were very calm.
He looked at Maria again.
Maria came up to Zachary, "Dad, I also want to apply to further my studies in England. Immediately. Now.
Zachary and Yvonne were both shocked by Maria's sudden decision.
"Maria, why would you suddenly make such a decision?" Yvonne took a step forward and asked, "Weren't you extremely reluctant to leave the country before this?"
"I didn't notice the benefits of studying abroad until now," Maria said, then looked at Gary, "Don't you agree, Gary?"
Gary paused and looked at Yvonne with a calm expression. He nodded and said, "Aunt Yvonne, perhaps Maria has finally realized the benefits of studying abroad; that's why she's so persistent now. In my opinion, it's a good thing for her if that's what she really wants.
Yvonne looked at Gary and Maria suspiciously.
Weren't they always bickering with one another?
Since when had Maria started asking for Gary's opinions?
Yvonne took another look at Zachary.
Zachary was also frowning slightly. Although they had a second child now, he still wished that his daughter wouldn't leave him. He understood how difficult it was to study abroad, so naturally, he didn't want his daughter to suffer at such a young age.
"Maria, let's talk about it when we go home," Zachary tried to compromise. He was hoping to dissuade Maria from studying abroad once they were home.
However, Maria was not in a hurry to leave, "Dad, I want to go to England. Look, Ernest is going there, and I also have a friend, Celeste, who's going to study in England. Don't you think it would be great for the three of us to go there together? We can also be there for each other."
Zachary paused again and said, "That is definitely a good thing, but your decision is too sudden. Your mom and I were caught off guard. Hadn't we all agreed that you wouldn't be going overseas previously?" "Things have changed," Maria said seriously. She just wanted to get this over with sooner so that she could leave immediately, "After you guys agree on this, I still have to look for a college. It will take a few months at the very least. Daddy, can we not waste time on this?"
This was an urgent matter.
Her pursuit for her idol could never be delayed.
Zachary was still a little surprised, "No, this is not a small matter. We have to go back and think this through thoroughly."
"Gary," Maria immediately looked at Gary, hoping that he would speak up for her.
Gary was not in a hurry. Instead, he turned his gaze to Ernest and asked, "Ernest, what do you think about Maria going to England with you?"
