True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1262
"Oh my God, I've been waiting for such a long time. Finally, I've got a workable answer," Maria looked up at the sky and sighed.
She was waiting for Celeste to understand that affection and friendship were not the same. Now, it seemed that she gradually understood how relationships worked.
"Why do you say that?" Celeste frowned and didn't understand the intention of Maria's words, "What do you want to express? Can you tell me clearly?"
"Am I not clear enough?" Maria looked at Celeste with a smile and said, "My dear, how are you so good at studying when you're so foolishly naive?"
"When I concentrate on doing one thing, I won't be distracted," Celeste explained, "I love studying."
"Okay, I get it," Maria surrendered to Celeste, "You win. What I mean is that you finally realized that your feelings for Gary are different from those for Ernest."
It was only now that Celeste understood. So this was what Maria was referring to.
"Why are you so concerned about my feelings towards Gary?" She was puzzled.
"Haha, I'm not overly concerned. Wait, no, I can't say that. I just think that the two of you are a good match. Gary's attitude towards you is different from the other girls." "Didn't you discover this a long time ago?"
"Duh," Maria's eyes widened as she smacked her lips, "Of course, I found out a long time ago, but you didn't understand it at all. Things were so hard for me back then."
"What's so hard about that?" Celeste didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Her face was as red as a tomato, which made her a little embarrassed. She tried to laugh it out, "I just never thought about such issues before. We are only sixteen years old. If we think about these things so early, isn't it a waste of our time?"
"Don't talk to me like you're 80," Maria shook her head in distaste, "In my opinion, you have to be in love when you are young. If not, who would be willing to fall in love with you when you're older?" Celeste widened her eyes and was shocked by Maria's words.
Maria gave her concluding remarks, "Look at us now. Our faces are so moist and supple, I could probably squeeze water from it." "That's an exaggeration," Celeste didn't spare her any nice words. "Don't you understand metaphors?" Maria rolled her eyes speechlessly, "You're too boring. You're just like Gary, a whole party pooper. I tried my best to illustrate the situation, but you ruined the fun." "Okay, tell me," Celeste expressed her intent to listen respectfully and not interrupt, "I'm listening."
"Oh, are you finally interested?" Maria blinked her eyes and asked.
"I think so," Celeste nodded in embarrassment and added, "I'm open to hearing what you have to say. Maybe you've got a point."
"Of course I do," Maria said confidently, "From now on, you can enjoy the process of dating. If you get into a relationship when you are in your mid-20s, you will be married after a period of time. If you can replace a good husband, then it'll be fine. If you can't replace a good husband, you'll have to divorce him. It's better to start early just in case."
"But, what if from now on, when I am in my twenties, I replace that this is not what I want? What if we break up then?" Celeste raised her own doubts in a timely manner.
Maria's eyes widened and she took a deep breath before exclaiming, "Oh my god, you're always able to point out the essence of the problem directly. Are you holding onto this idea and planning to replace another person you like when you are in your twenties?"
Celeste shook her head and said, "No..."
"Then you admit that you like Gary, right?" Maria took advantage of the fact that she had won and threw out this sensitive question.
It was then that Celeste realized that she had been tricked.
Her mouth fell open and her face turned redder.
Gary's kiss flashed in her mind again. It replayed like a movie, and it was so very passionate.
The night before he left, the scene of him watching her from the window downstairs was also replaying in her mind.
She thought, "My feelings for Gary are different."
"You're blushing like no tomorrow," Maria teased, "Seems like you really like Gary."
"Mm," Celeste nodded in agreement, "I think I like him very much."
"That's my girl," Maria was ecstatic, "You have to be clear about Gary and Ernest."
"Ernest is a friend," Celeste said firmly this time, "I know you're reminding me about that."
Maria was even more satisfied with that answer. She kept nodding and saying, "It's good that you understand my warning. Since Ernest and Gary
are brothers, don't ever cross that boundary."
Celeste agreed and promised, "I know. Don't worry."
"Now, what if I say that both Ernest and Gary like you at the same time, what are you going to do?" Maria asked a difficult question as she wanted to see what the obtuse Celeste would think.
She did not expect Celeste to get so surprised all of a sudden. Celeste looked at her in shock and said, "Impossible, that won't happen. Didn't you say that we can't have the cake and eat it at the same time? I've already chosen Gary."
"But you're going to study together with Ernest," Maria raised an eyebrow at her.
Celeste took a deep breath and said, "I didn't understand it before, but now I know what's going on and what I should do."
"Naha, good girl," Maria laughed. She felt more relieved on Gary's behalf.
That evening, Maria called Gary and told him all this.
Gary did not speak after hearing this.
However, Maria took all the credit and asked, "What do you think? Celeste has grown up. I've also warned Ernest for you. Are you happy now?"
Gary sucked in a deep breath and said coldly, "Can you not think too highly of yourself?"
"Me?" Maria was taken aback by the accusation, "Why do you say that?"
"Maria, Ernest is a smart man. He doesn't need anyone to remind him. If you do, it'll only make him even more rebellious," Gary's voice came from the other end of the line. It was a very low growl. Normally, he would only speak in such a tone when he was really worried and angry.
Maria wanted to refute, but she found that she couldn't replace the right words.
"Celeste is too simple. Her mind is not on these matters, so you shouldn't remind her or force her to make a choice."
"D*mm it, I'm doing this for your own good. How dare you say that to me?" Maria exploded in an instant. Then, she yelled at Gary, "Don't expect me to help you in the future."
After that, she hung up the phone.
When Gary called again, Maria didn't answer.
Gary was very worried, and he waited for Celeste's call. However, after calculating the time, he found that Celeste still hadn't called him despite it being 11 at night in Northern City. Hence, he had to call her.
The phone only rang for two times before
Celeste's slightly trembling voice was heard.
"G-Gary."
Gary smiled.
It seemed that Celeste was very excited to receive his call, so she was probably waiting for him to call her.
