Ernest's words just now had affected Maria's determination greatly.

Celeste understood immediately that this matter was related to Liam.

"I don't know much about Liam. I just met him today," Celeste didn't hide anything from Maria and asked, "But what do you want to know about him? As long as it's within my capabilities, I'll help you ask."

"Celeste, you really an amazing friend," Maria found that Celeste was serious in helping her. She smiled slightly, dispelling some of her sorrow.

"What's the matter? You look worried."

"When you were answering the phone, Ernest told me that I was not Liam's type. He told me to not overthink things."

"Huh?" Celeste was very astonished. After a pause, she frowned, "What's the relationship between Ernest and Liam? Does he really know Liam?"

"I think that Ernest is concerned about me," Maria sighed, "He hopes that I will be clear about this and doesn't want me to take a wrong turn and suffer in the future."

Celeste nodded in agreement, "I also think that Ernest is worried about you, but what are you going to do?"

"Of course I won't give up so easily," Maria was firm, "I'm not a person who gives up easily. I came here because Liam came to study in the UK. If I were to give up easily, wouldn't I be giving up on my original intention?"

"Did you come here for Liam?" Celeste was really shocked.

At that time, she was very happy that Maria had suddenly changed her mind and wanted to study abroad. That way, everyone could be together.

But she didn't expect that it would be because of Liam. In a way, she admired Maria a lot.

Maria nodded and felt a little embarrassed, "Although I don't want to admit it, it's true."

"Your determination is amazing," Celeste looked at Maria as if it was the first time that she had known Maria. It was surprising that Maria would go so far for a man.

While she was surprised, she also felt deep admiration.

Back in the room, Celeste read her books for a while. At 8:30 p.m, the phone rang again.

She glanced at it and noticed that it was from Gary.

She picked it up quickly.

"Gary," She called out first.

"Hey," Gary replied and asked, "What are you doing?"

"I'm reading a book."

Her answer made Gary laugh silently.

Well-behaved girls were really rare nowadays. Celeste only wanted to learn and seldom had any messy thoughts clouding her brain.

"You're not having some fun?" He asked.

"After dinner, Ernest went back to his room to read. Maria and I chatted for a while at the dining table downstairs before going back to our rooms to read separately," Celeste reported honestly, "Also, we need to study now. It's only after we start our schooling days can we finally settle down."

This was a very "Celeste" like answer.

"Did Ernest go back to read right after dinner?" Gary asked.

"Yes," Celeste nodded.

Gary didn't say anything else.

"You called me. Is there something going on?

What's the matter?"

"To confirm the time well be calling every day," Gary told her.

"Every day?" Celeste raised her voice in astonishment. Was this still the Gary she knew?

Didn't he dislike making phone calls as it took up time?

In her memory, Gary was a lone ranger. He wasn't sentimental.

She was a little surprised.

"What's wrong?" Upon hearing Celeste's voice, Gary's tone instantly grew colder, "Are you reluctant to call me every day?"

Celeste was once again dumbfounded.

Gary asked coldly once again, "Or is it that you don't like being disturbed and hate the idea of us calling each other every day?"

"No," Celeste quickly denied, "I was just a little surprised. I didn't expect you to have such an idea."

"Then you don't know me very well."

"Well, maybe," Celeste muttered, "I really assumed that you didn't like to make calls since it would disturb you." "Celeste," Gary lowered his voice. "What?" "Stop assuming," Gary explained, "Call me every day. I'll call you again tomorrow around 8:30 p.m. in London."

"Oh," Celeste replied hurriedly, "Oh, okay, I understand. You can call me any time."

Gary frowned. It was only now that he seemed to be satisfied with Celeste's words.

"Let's video call," He suddenly suggested.

"What?" Celeste was shocked again.

"Celeste, can you stop being so shocked? Can you act normally?"

What was strange about video calling? He just wanted to have a video call with Celeste to see how she looked.

Yet, Celeste had replied to him in a daze. He was speechless.

"How?" Celeste asked softly.

Just then, the phone was hung up.

After a while, an invitation to a video call was sent over.

Only then did Celeste realize that this was the sort of video call Gary had mentioned.

Suddenly, she grew nervous. She subconsciously lowered her gaze to look at herself and see if there was anything on her clothes.

Fortunately, everything was neatly in order.

She had tied her hair into two small braids, which made her look quite cute.

Celeste quickly took a look at herself in the mirror and found that her face was clean. It was only then that she put down the mirror and accepted the call.

The minute she accepted the video call, a handsome face appeared on the screen.

Celeste was instantly nervous. Her gaze was darting everywhere but his face.

She couldn't help but avoid his gaze.

"Look at me," A voice came to her ears, which left Celeste dumbfounded once more. She looked at him subconsciously.

Only then did she notice that he had slimmed down a lot and he looked much thinner.

"You're slimmer," Almost instantly, Celeste blurted out.

Gary watched Celeste in the video and smirked slightly. He looked extremely handsome.

Although he had lost some weight, his handsomeness didn't decrease in the slightest.

"I'm happy that you're able to observe such details," Gary praised her, "I'm indeed thinner. I've lost five pounds this week." "That much?"

"It's okay. At least I have successfully lost weight." "You're already very slim, and yet you're still saying that you want to lose weight."

He was almost 1.9 meters tall. He was already very built, yet he was still losing weight.

Celeste frowned slightly and advised him, "You can't lose any more weight. Losing weight affects your health."

Gary pondered for a moment on the other side as if he was considering what to do next. In the end, he laughed heartily, "Looks like you don't like me being too slim."

"It's not a matter of whether I like it or not," Celeste explained, "More importantly, your height and weight have to be in a balanced proportion."

"Why so serious?" Gary chuckled, "Are you worried that I'll be too thin and weak?"

Celeste shook her head and commented seriously, "If you lose weight, you won't have any strength. The most important thing is your health."

"Oh," Gary smiled playfully. He gave a long sigh on purpose, "I thought that you were just worried that I would not be able to lift you up in my arms."
