Liam looked at the confident middle-aged woman and felt somewhat annoyed. She had probably thought of herself as a mature woman who could get her hands on any young men she wanted. He smiled faintly. "Madam Cruise, I don't have such strong ambitions, nor do I care about offending my manager and company. You don't have to waste your time on me."

There was an implicit meaning to his words. He was letting Betty know that he had no intentions of being taken advantage of.

He believed that she understood the meaning behind his words.

However, Betty was reluctant to give up.

Instead, she looked at Liam with an even more meaningful smile. "Liam, you're still young and energetic. When you reach my age, you'll understand that in life, there is nothing more important than making money."

Liam paused, and he lowered his eyes. His gaze was icy, and a cold aura seemed to emanate from his body.

He said, "No, I don't think so." "Oh?" Betty raised her eyebrows slightly. "Then how do you see it? Why don't you let me know?"

"I think that one should be clear about what it is they want to do. Even during adversities, one should maintain a clear head. Otherwise, they won't be happy. The more money one has, the stronger their sense of superiority. They'll end up thinking that they can do anything they want. That might make things worse for them because they might not be able to accept rejection due to their sense of superiority," Liam replied.

Upon hearing that, Betty's eyes flashed. She glanced at Liam fiercely. "Are you talking about me?"

Liam's expression remained calm. "Madam Cruise, there's no need to get in a huff. I just think that everyone has their own ambition. I appreciate your kindness, but I'm afraid I can't accept it."

"Liam Robinson, you're really bold," Betty said in a voice dripping with sarcasm. "What is there to be proud of when you're just an actor? You don't even have a prominent social status, and even if you did, wha does it matter How dare you mock me?"

The indifferent look on his face did not waver. He looked down at Betty and felt that she looked even older and uglier.

He smiled, but he did not respond.

However, his attitude made Betty sneer. "How dare you look at me with contempt?"

"I'm not," Liam said flatly. "I just don't like to be pushed around. Madam Cruise, I'm sorry, but I can't agree to your request."

"How dare you challenge me?" Betty retorted in an even angrier and sharper tone.

Without trying to hide his thoughts, Liam answered in a low voice, "I'm not trying to challenge you. I just really don't want to entertain you."

"You!" Betty sneered. "I'm telling you, it was a blessing to have caught my eye."

Liam snorted.

"What are you snorting at?" Betty demanded, enraged.

"After all that, it seems that you have finally exposed your true thoughts. All you want is to be intimate with me, right?"

"Yes, that's what I want. I have my eyes on you. If you come with me, I can make you popular again. But if you're unwilling to hook up with me, then I'm sorry. I'll trample you to the bottom," Betty threatened. There was a cold glint in her eyes. "I'll make it impossible for you to make a comeback ever again."

Liam smiled, and his expression was still as calm as ever. His indifference infuriated Betty even further.

"Don't mock me!" Betty shouted angrily.

"Madam Cruise, please do your best to stop me from making a comeback. I can tell you that even if you do that, I won't be bribed by you. I'm not someone who will betray their soul for their own selfish desires. With that, he turned around to leave.

The moment he turned around, he saw Maria's father standing less than ten meters away. He did not know how long he had been standing there.

Liam had not noticed Zachary standing there before. Did he overhear our conversation? Liam wondered.

He felt a little embarrassed at meeting Zachary so unexpectedly and at such a close distance.

Moreover, Zachary was an extremely handsome man. He looked dignified and elegant with his finely chiseled features, and he exuded an air of maturity. All in all, he cut a particularly imposing. After a moment's pause, he nodded slightly at Zachary.

Zachary looked at him, then shifted his gaze to Betty expressionlessly.

When she saw Zachary, she was taken aback and immediately changed her attitude. "Oh my, isn't this Mr. Lowe?"

Zachary looked at Madam Cruise calmly.

Betty went over and asked, "Mr. Lowe, are you dining here too?"

Zachary replied, "I have heard that you lead a flippant and unrestrained lifestyle. However, I never expected you to have your eye on my family."

Betty and Liam were both stunned.

Liam pursed his lips as he looked at Zachary.

Zachary continued, "Liam is someone that you can covet. Please be clear about that. In the future, when you see him, you should stay away from him. Otherwise, I may not be so polite anymore."

Betty was surprised at first, but Zachary's warning left her a little dumbstruck. When she came to her senses, she immediately smiled. "Since he's your family member, it's only right that I respect your wishes. However, may I know what you mean by 'family'?"

Zachary raised his eyebrows, but he did not answer.

Betty smiled and teased, "Could it be that you like young boys too, Mr. Lowe?"

"Hey," Liam growled. "Madam Cruise, do you think everyone has the same thoughts and behavior as you?"

Betty smiled and looked at Liam. Then, she turned to Zachary and said, "Mr. Lowe, you seem anxious. Did I guess correctly?"

Zachary sneered. "You don't deserve to know what sort of relationship Liam has with the Lowe family."

Betty was shocked.

At that moment, they heard someone call out. "Zachary, what are you doing? Why aren't you coming over to eat?"

Hearing the voice, Zachary turned to look at the person who was walking over to him. "I met Liam."

It was Grace. When she saw Liam, she immediately said, "Liam? Since he's here, let's eat together."

When Liam saw Grace, he quickly greeted her. "Hello, Aunt Smith."

"Liam, you've lost a lot of weight. Come on, Uncle Jones is here too. Let's eat together." Grace had already reached out to pull Liam over. The way she was treating him was just like how she treated Gary and Ernest, her own children.

As she was about to pull Liam away, she saw Betty.

"Who might this be?"

Zachary replied, "Oh, this lady has taken a fancy to Liam. She wants to reap some benefits from Liam."

As soon as he said that, Liam felt embarrassed.

Meanwhile, Grace was dumbfounded.

She looked at Zachary. She had not expected him to say what he did. Then, she looked at Liam. Grace noticed the embarrassed look on Liam's face and immediately said to Betty, "Humph, if you want Liam, you'll need to go through the Lowe family, the Jones family, and the Yarbrough family."

Betty staggered, shocked.

Grace continued, "Madam Cruise, Liam is under the protection of the Jones family, the Lowe family, and the Yarbrough family here in Northern City. I'm afraid you can't have him."

She mentioned all three families together to force Betty to give up on bullying Liam.

Naturally, Grace knew of Liam's current situation.

Since Zachary had already shown his displeasure so clearly, she would not hold back either. Especially since Yvonne told her that Maria had her eye on Liam. Hence, she had to protect him. Besides, he was not a bad person. She could not let him be ruined by an old hag.

Betty was left speechless by her words. Had it just been the Lowe family, she would not have been so afraid. However, she did not expect the Jones family and the Yarbrough family to be involved as well. Over the years, those three families had enjoyed unparalleled success in their businesses. If they joined forces, it would be a mistake to underestimate them.

She seemed very embarrassed.

"Liam, come," Zachary said.

"Come on, let's go eat." Grace tugged at his arm.

"Mr. Lowe, Aunt Smith, I'm here with my management company today," Liam explained.

There was a mix of emotions in his heart. He did not expect that Zachary and Grace would speak up for him. He could only imagine the weight of their words.

"Your management company?" Zachary asked. "Which room is it? I'll go and take a look. You go with Aunt Smith to the next room first."

"Zachary, go and talk to his manager. He's supposed to be a manager, not a pimp. How can he insult young people like that?" Grace told Zachary. "Of course." Zachary nodded.

Liam got a little worried. "Mr. Lowe, I'll take care of it."

"You just wait here," Zachary said firmly, leaving no room for Liam to refuse. "Tell me the room number."
