Everyone looked at Zachary speechlessly. His words did make sense.

Yvonne turned to Liam and said, "Liam, Mr. Lowe dotes on his daughter. That's why he's so demanding. You shouldn't take it to heart."

"I won't," Liam replied as he shook his head.

"So, what do you think?" Zachary asked.

"I agree with you, Mr. Lowe, but the contract termination fee is too high." Liam could not help but worry about it.

"Then, you should make sure you produce more works in the future," Zachary answered in a low voice. "Don't worry about the expenses for the time being. After you terminate the contract, you can be under Maria's management."

Liam was shocked. "Maria is still just a student," he protested.

"You probably don't know this," Zachary began. "But Maria has been helping you plan this for some time. She wants to be your manager after graduation. Because of you, her postgraduate studies are focused on helping her become a management professional. She even loaned one hundred thousand dollars from me to prepare a studio and a scriptwriter so that she could write a script in advance. When she graduates, she wants to become your manager and help you."

Zachary had not intended to reveal all of that, but he did not want Maria to suffer the same pain he felt when he was separated from Yvonne for five years.

He wanted to tell Liam about it earlier.

When he saw how Betty was treating Liam earlier, he knew that Liam had a great sense of righteousness.

If he was willing to advance his career by any means possible, then he was not worthy of Maria's love.

After observing for some time, Zachary thought that it was time to help him.

Liam's jaw dropped open in surprise at Zachary's words, and his eyes were filled with shock as he stared at Zachary and Yvonne.

Even Grace and Heinz were a little surprised. After a while, they smiled at Liam. Grace said, "Maria is a smart girl, and she knows what needs to be done. She wants to help you, but she also wants to consider your feelings. That's probably why she didn't tell you about it."

Liam nodded in reply.

Indeed, Maria had not mentioned anything about it to him. She had kept asking him to read Reaper's book, but he did not realize her good intentions.

At that moment, Liam felt like an utter failure. He had been so immersed in his own world that he had completely ignored Maria's good intentions. When he thought of Maria, his chest tightened.

He had found someone who treated him so well. What did it matter if he did not become famous?

He was extremely touched, and his eyes began to light up. He looked at Zachary and Yvonne. "I really didn't know about this matter."

"Is your pride wounded now that you know about it?" Zachary asked.

Liam shook his head. "If I only cared about my pride, then I'd be a selfish man. How could I live up to Maria's kindness that way?"

Upon hearing that, Zachary finally smiled a little. He looked at Yvonne and gave her a satisfied smile.

Then, he turned to look at Heinz.

Heinz nodded at him with a smile. "Very good. Liam, we're all very happy to hear you say this. We only knew what a true sense of pride meant when we reached our current age. But at your age, you already know not to let the girl you like worry about you. We're very pleased."

"Then, that's settled. We'll begin preparations to terminate the contract," Zachary said. "We shouldn't tell Maria about this for the moment. I'll go back and replace a team of lawyers today. You should go to your manager and try your hardest to terminate the contract at once."

"Yes, I'll do as you say." Although Liam was in a panic and shocked state, he knew that leaving his current company was of utmost importance.

"Come and have something to eat."

However, Liam did not eat. Instead, he said, "I'm sorry, but I won't be staying to eat. I'm going to talk to my manager about this. He just called me." "Sure, go ahead." Zachary nodded.

After Liam said goodbye to them, he walked out of the room.

When he returned to the private room next door, he only Johnny and Teresa inside.

Johnny felt a mix of emotions when he saw Liam. Smiling faintly, he said, "Liam, you're back?"

Teresa was also experiencing a mix of emotions. "Liam," she said.

Liam looked directly at Johnny. "Johnny, I want to terminate the contract."

Johnny nodded with a strange expression on his face. "What's your relationship with Mr. Lowe?"

Liam shook his head before replying, "That's personal."

"Well, it is indeed your personal affairs. Anyway, it's good that you're here. I've told the company about it, and the company said that they won't let you go," Johnny answered. "Why don't you and Teresa talk about it? I'll be on my way. If you really want to terminate your contract, then well have to go to court."

Johnny left.

"I heard him calling your company just now," Teresa said. "Your boss said that he won't let you go. If you really want to leave, you'll have to file a lawsuit, and you'll need to pay a large sum in termination fees."

Liam was calm and silent.

Looking at him blankly, Teresa continued, "Liam, do you have a good relationship with the Lowe family? Are you sure they'll help you? If they do, that's great. But, if they get shocked by compensation costs and suddenly decide not to help you, you'll definitely be ruined."

She paused, then added, "You should know that in our industry, there are not that many people who have successfully terminated their contract and still managed to lead a comfortable life. All of them have suffered a lot after the lawsuit."

"I'm ready to accept whatever the outcome is," Liam replied indifferently.

Anxious, Teresa raised her voice as she said, "But, you're risking your entire future with this."

"It's still better than being taken advantage of." Liam looked at Teresa and sneered. "Teresa, Mr. Cruise wanted to take advantage of you, didn't he?"

Teresa froze and looked at Liam with embarrassment. "Liam, I..."

"Do you really want to be toyed with by old men every step of your life?" Liam asked. "Just how long are you going to use these unscrupulous methods for fame?"

"Liam, are you worrying about me?" Teresa seemed to brighten up, a ray of hope shining in her eyes.

Liam frowned and said coldly, "No. I just think that it's disgusting. You say that you're my classmate, but I feel disgusted at having a classmate who has sold her soul so many times. I hope you learn from your mistakes."

With that, Liam got up to leave.

However, Teresa rushed toward him and hugged him from behind.

"Don't go, Liam," she begged as she hugged him tightly.

Liam's body stiffened.

"Teresa, let go of me," he growled.

"No, listen to me first." Teresa continued to hug him, pressing her face against his back. "Liam, we were classmates. I know you care about me, and you feel sorry for me. No one in this world cares about me except for you."

"Let me go first." Liam frowned and tried to pull her hand away.

However, Teresa clung tightly to him and would not let him go.

Liam said angrily, "If you don't let me go, then don't blame me for not going easy on you."

"Liam, I like you. I like you so much that my heart hurts. These past few years haven't been easy for me. I missed you. I couldn't help but think of you every night. I even needed sleeping pills to sleep. Liam, wil you give me another chance? I really like you. Can you like me as well?" she pleaded as she pressed her face against his broad, muscular back. It was as if her feelings for him were only getting deeper. Teresa really felt that she had made a wrong decision back then.

She had chosen an old man and taken a glamorous path. However, the farther she walked, the lonelier she felt.

And the lonelier she felt, the more distressed she was.

In the deepest hours of the night, she could not help but miss Liam.

"I've never liked you," Liam said coldly. "Please have some self-respect, Teresa."

Desperate, Teresa pressed her lips against his back. Those words cut deeper than a knife.

Struggling to breathe, she could not help but feel distressed.

She felt like crying.

That was not the answer she wanted.

"Liam," she murmured.

With a sudden jerk, Liam broke free from Teresa's grasping fingers. He shoved her backward, and she fell to the ground. Tears rolled down Teresa's cheeks as she looked up at Liam dazedly. "Liam, why did you do that?"

"Teresa, please have some self- respect." Liam watched as she broke into sobs. However, he did not show her any mercy.
