Inside the conference room.

Right after Liam left, Zachary asked his assistant to take out a check. Then, he handed it to Suanne.

She was shocked when she saw the amount written on the check. "Fifty million dollars. What do you mean by this?"

It surprised her that Zachary was giving her the check even though Liam's contract had been terminated.

"These are the compensation fees for the breach of contract," Zachary said. "Madam Suanne, please accept the money."

"Didn't I said that we could forget about that?" Suanne asked.

"I know that you're a righteous person, but it wouldn't be right if we didn't give this to you. First of all, Theclair Group is in a precarious position. Secondly, you've just taken over the company. If you don't take the compensation fees for the breach of contract, it will be difficult for you to manage your artists in the future." Zachary genuinely had Suanne's best interests at heart.

She was an honest and capable person, so naturally, he would not do her dirty.

His words surprised her even more.

She held the check in her hands, her eyes a little wet. She was moved by his gesture. "Mr. Lowe, thank you for being so considerate of me. I don't know how to thank you for this."

"There's no need to say anything," Zachary said.

"Okay, then I'll accept the check," she replied.

Zachary nodded. "You don't have to worry so much about it. I gave you this check because of your righteous character. It is also because Liam is worth it."

Suanne was stunned.

Zachary added, "Liam is worth more than that. I'm sure he'll only become of more value in the future."

Suanne smiled and said, "Mr. Lowe, you're a very thorough person. About the celebrity endorser, I recommend Raiya Lance. She was actually recommended by Liam." "Raiya Lance," Zachary repeated. Then, he nodded and said, "Okay, we'll look into her before making a final decision."

"All right."

"Madam Suanne, aren't you going to ask about the rate?"

"You're such a righteous person, so I believe there's no need for me to ask about that."

Zachary stood up and said, "Well then, I'll be leaving with Liam now."

"Okay," Suanne replied and personally saw him out.

As soon as Zachary walked out of the room, he said to Liam, "Come on, let's go."

Liam followed Zachary into the elevator, then mustered up the courage to ask him, "Mr. Lowe, do I have to sign another contract now?"

"No," Zachary replied evenly. "You're free now. If you want to sign a contract, ask Maria about it first. See what kind of company she wants to start. If she wants you, then sign a contract with her. If she doesn't want you, then you don't have to sign anything."

Surprised by those words, he could only stare at Zachary in a daze.

Seeing his expression, Zachary laughed. "Do you regret terminating that contract? Maria might not even be as capable as Suanne."

"I don't regret it. Maria isn't unreliable. She has dreams, and she's kind too. I believe in her," Liam said in a very serious tone. "It's just that I never expected that you wouldn't even want to get me to sign a contract to control my freedom."

"One's freedom should not be controlled by others," Zachary said in a low voice. "One has to be able to strike a balance between freedom and self-restraint."

Liam carefully thought about his words. After some time, he finally said, "Maria is still a student, so she doesn't have time to do these things."

"You should discuss it with her," Zachary replied. "If she does not have the time nor the ability, then tell her that you'll sign a contract with some other company."

"No, I won't." Liam shook his head immediately. "I'll only sign a contract with Maria."

Zachary smiled.

At that moment, the elevator arrived on the first floor. They stepped out of the elevator together.

The reporters came rushing forward.

"Mr. Lowe, did you help Liam terminate his contract with Theclair Group?"

"Liam, did you come to Theclair Group today to finalize the termination of your contract?"

Zachary let out a slight smile and said, "I'm sure Madam Suanne will give you a satisfying explanation later about Liam's contract. All I can say is that Lowe Group will work with Theclair Group and use artists from Theclair Group to endorse products under Lowe Group."

He did not divulge any details about the termination of Liam's contract. After all, a breach of contract was not a good thing for Theclair Group's reputation.

Zachary was a shrewd businessman, and he knew how to deal with these types of situations.

Passing the responsibility to Suanne was a show of his respect for Theclair Group and Suanne.

The mention of product endorsement by Theclair Group's artists was his way of letting the public know that Lowe Group was not on bad terms with Theclair Group. In fact, they were even working together. His brief comment was enough to dispel some of the speculations that had been circulating.

As he was about to get into his car, Liam asked Zachary again, "Mr. Lowe, what should I do next?"

Zachary's assistant handed him a plane ticket.

Liam was stunned. It was a ticket to London.

He looked at Zachary in surprise.

"Go to England and talk to Maria. Take a vacation while you're at it. Maria should know what to do," Zachara replied.

With that, Zachary left.

Holding the ticket in his hand, Liam saw that the flight was at one o'clock that afternoon.

He would only have time to rush back to his apartment and pack up his luggage before he had to fly to London.

His heart was racing. He could not describe the emotions that overwhelmed him.

To him, it felt like his chest was burning with a raging fire. He was too excited.

Meanwhile, Maria had seen the news and called Liam immediately, only to replace that his phone was turned off.

Anxious, she called Zachary.

"Dad, has Liam terminated the contract?"

Zachary replied, "Yes. Didn't he tell you?"

"His phone is turned off," Maria answered anxiously. "Do you know where he is? What's wrong with him? Did something happen to him? Is someone making things difficult for him?"

"Who would make things difficult for him?" Zachary retorted.

Maria said, "Others may not, but you might, Dad. You won't make things hard for him, will you?"

"Maria, is that how you think of me?" Zachary asked coldly.

Frightened by his tone of voice, she quickly replied, "I was just worried because I couldn't get in touch with him."

"Keep waiting. He should contact you in a few hours." Zachary looked at the time. "Maybe in five hours."

It was 7:30 p.m. in Northern City at that time.

He estimated that Liam would be in England by the time it was midnight in Northern City.

"What do you mean by that?" Maria asked.

"Don't ask me. You'd better learn to think about yourself first. Since Liam has terminated the contract, how do you plan to sign a contract with him? Are you going to do it or not? That's all up to you." With that, Zachary ended the call.

Maria was puzzled. She tried to call Liam a few more times, but none of her calls went through. So, she put down her phone.

Noticing her worried look, Gary and Celeste asked, "What's wrong? Why are you so anxious?"

"Liam has terminated the contract," Maria said. "But I can't get in touch with him."

Gary looked at his phone, and an imperceptible smile flashed in his eyes. He looked at Maria and said, "He's an adult. What can happen to him? Don't be too anxious. Relax. Maybe he's preparing a surprise."

Maria was so anxious that she was not in the

mood to think about any surprises.

She did not even have much of an appetite at dinner.

Gary turned to the butler and said, "Butler, prepare a delicious supper for us. Celeste and I want to have something to eat tonight."

The butler nodded at once. "Yes, Master Gary. What about Mr. Ernest and Miss Maria?"

"Nothing for me," Ernest said. "But I don't think Maria has eaten much. Prepare some for her."

"Of course," the butler replied.

Maria retired to her room rather early that evening.

Ernest looked at his brother and Celeste, then he said in a concerned tone, "When will Liam be here? I'll go and fetch him. You don't have to go."

Gary laughed at once. "Thank you, Ernest. You're the best."

Ernest smiled and said, "I'm the only one who's single, so it's only right that I go."

"It's a good thing you know that," Gary replied, smiling. "Look at the time. It is time for you to leave."

Ernest nodded.

Gary sent him the flight information.

Then, Ernest drove to the airport. When he picked Liam up, he said, "If you still didn't come, Maria would miss you to death. She has been restless all night long because she couldn't reach you." Hearing that, Liam was a little worried. "I didn't tell her. She must have been worried when she couldn't contact me."

He was about to turn on his phone.

However, Ernest interjected, "We should be back in about an hour. Why don't you go back and give her a surprise? She'll definitely shriek her head off if you call her like this."

Liam nodded, resisting the urge to turn on his phone.

Soon, they arrived at their London home.

"Gary has asked the butler to prepare supper. If you're hungry later, you can come downstairs to get it," said Ernest.

"Sure." Liam nodded.

"I'll be going upstairs first then." Ernest patted Liam's shoulder and turned to leave.

Liam stood at Maria's door. His heart was beating like a drum.

He took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

The door opened.

When Maria saw the person standing in front of her room, she was shocked and screamed in surprise, "Why are you here?"
