True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1671
Celeste looked up into Gary's eyes and saw the absolute sincerity in them. She pursed her lips as tears welled up in her eyes. "Thank you," She said.
Gary pulled her into his embrace and the two of them lay down. He whispered in Celeste's ear, "Don't think about it okay? Just sleep."
"I can't sleep," Celeste's mind was in a mess.
"Are you going to think about it all the time?" Gary asked softly.
"My thoughts are all jumbled up, and I'm afraid," Celeste muttered.
"Are you afraid that Sinclair will come and see you all of a sudden?" Gary asked.
Celeste nodded.
"It's fine. I'm sure that day will come, and we have to face it even though we're afraid," Other than Celeste leaving him, Gary was afraid of nothing else.
In fact, he was looking forward to Sinclair's appearance.
When the time came, he would humiliate that shameless old man.
However, he wondered if he should tell Grace and Heinz about Celeste's true origin.
It would be better for him to tell them so they were mentally prepared rather than letting the news be a surprise to them.
"Let's leave it for later. It's still in the middle of the day back home, so I'll call Heinz and mom to warn them."
"No. Don't tell Aunt Smith and Uncle Jones," Celeste shook her head.
"Silly girl, if we don't tell them, the news outlets will," Gary replied.
Celeste was rendered speechless as she looked over at Gary. She was hesitant, "Will the reporters replace out?"
"Do you think Sinclair would give up on you so easily? How could he give up such a good bargaining chip? Once news breaks of you being his daughter, all his scandals will be overshadowed." "Although scandals are very popular, society is quick to forget. If he leaks the news that you're my girlfriend and his daughter to the press, he could get some positive coverage. Up until this point, Heinz still has a lot of influence in Northern City, so I think we should tell mom and Heinz," Gary explained his concerns.
"I'm afraid they'll look down on me," Celeste was still young - barely 21 - so she was worried about plenty of things.
"Don't be afraid. They're not that kind of people. My maternal grandmother is far more despicable than Sinclair," Gary tried his best to comfort Celeste, "Mom's been through a lot, and she won't take things at face value. She knows the difference between you and Sinclair."
Nevertheless, Celeste was still very hesitant.
Gary comforted her once more before picking up his phone to call his mother.
Grace was very surprised to receive her son's call, "It must be the wee hours of the morning over there. Is there an emergency?"
"Mommy," Gary's tone was calm as he started, "There's something I need to tell you."
Celeste tensed up, and she looked at Gary with huge amounts of worry brewing in her eyes.
Gary gave her a comforting look and reached out to take her hand.
"What's the matter?" Grace asked.
"Okay, it's about Celeste's family background. We managed to replace out that she's actually Sinclair
Stone's daughter," Gary said.
"Okay, so?" Grace's tone was as calm as stagnant water.
Both Gary and Celeste were stunned.
"Mom, don't you replace it strange? Aren't you even a little bit shocked?" Gary asked.
"So what if she's Sinclair's daughter? To me, Celeste is my daughter and your girlfriend. She's going to be my daughter-in-law, so it doesn't matter whose daughter she is," Grace was a very experienced woman, and she dealt with things very calmly.
Celeste was astonished.
Meanwhile, Gary shot Celeste a reassuring look.
Celeste felt relieved instantly.
"Actually, your father looked into Celeste's background long ago, and we knew she was Sinclair's daughter already. We know about what he did, and we also know that her birth mother is Yannie Miller, Cindy White's childhood best friend. We hesitated on whether we should tell you this," Grace decided to tell Gary now that he knew the truth.
"Mom, when did you guys replace out?" Gary asked.
"Nearly four years ago," Grace replied.
"Four years, and yet you tell us now?"
"Mhmm, I would have never told you if you didn't say anything. I know you replace it odd that I never ever told you guys about it although I knew," Grace replied.
"I do replace it incredibly strange," Gary muttered.
"This is because Sinclair has a wife, and he doesn't even know Celeste exists. Celeste's birth mother is dead, and your father and I decided not to bring up the past in order to not bother her. This was a selfish desire on our part as we only want Celeste to be happy. Everything else does not matter."
Grace's words touched Celeste's heart and she felt very warm.
There was a fuzzy feeling in her chest.
"Yeah, I don't think it's important either. Celeste is Celeste, and that's enough for me. It doesn't matter whose daughter she is," Gary replied.
"That's right, Gary. You're my son and the eldest son of the Jones family. I raised you all on my own until you were five. You're a man, and you don't have to rely on your in-law's family. If Celeste is worried we will be bothered about her true origins, tell her not to be. Also, tell Celeste that Heinz and I aren't that shallow. I'm displeased to hear that she thinks so lowly of us." "Aunt Smith, I'm sorry," Celeste sobbed as she apologized.
Grace immediately laughed as soon as she heard Celeste speak, "Silly girl, I knew you would be worried about this. Are you afraid that Sinclair's scandals will affect the Jones family?" "Well, I don't plan on acknowledging him at all. I don't want anything to have to do with him," Celeste spoke her mind immediately.
"Celeste, that's all up to you. It's your choice, and we won't interfere with that. However, we will always support you no matter what you choose. Rest assured of that," Grace reassured Celeste firmly. "Thank you, Aunt Smith," Celeste thanked her sincerely.
"Why are you being so polite to me?" Grace's tone was comforting as she chuckled, "Though, when did you guys replace out? Does Sinclair know that Celeste is his daughter?"
Gary replied, "He knows. It's a long story, mom, but I'm worried he'll leak this to the press and use this as leverage with the Jones family. He wants to rise to power again."
"He wants to use Celeste?" Grace asked.
"Yup, that's right."
"Was he happy to know that he is Celeste's father?"
"He was ecstatic."
Sinclair was happy even though Michael had just forced himself on Sinclair.
"What I'm asking is, is he happy he's a father? I don't want to know if he's happy because she's your girlfriend," Grace corrected herself.
"He should be," Gary recalled Sinclair's eagerness to see Celeste's photos. He didn't seem to be faking it. With that, Gary admitted, "To be fair, I think he's really happy to have Celeste as his daughter." "Okay, fine. Either way, Celeste has the final say over whether or not she wants to acknowledge Sinclair as her father. As for Sinclair trying to use the Jones family to his advantage, Heinz will deal with it. If he can't, that's all on Heinz. If everything goes well, then it will all be okay. Just make sure to sleep well and eat well. Celeste, make sure to not worry so much. It's bad for your health."
"I got it, Aunt Smith. I know what to do," Celeste's heart was very warm.
"That's a good girl. Go and get some rest, okay?" Grace reminded Celeste.
"All right mom, we'll hang up now," Gary quickly hung up the phone.
He looked at Celeste and asked, "Are you happier after that phone call?"
Celeste nodded and said, "I think I worry too much. Your mom is right. I should just go with the flow. C'mon Gary, let's go to bed."
"Are we going to sleep, or are you implying something else?" Gary teased.
Celeste was surprised and she felt a little embarrassed. She tried to laugh it off,"Aren't you tired?"
Gary replied, "I'm not. I'm actually quite turned on. Looking at the four of them getting it on, it's actually quite exciting despite the fact that it's so shameless. You know how I am."
