True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1689
Celeste was startled as she subconsciously reached out her hand, only to see Gary's handsome face. He was looking at her with his sharp and intimidating gaze.
Celeste felt helpless as she said, "Cindy sent me an insulting text message, and I didn't hold back."
"I saw it," Gary replied.
Dumbfounded, Celeste asked in surprise, "Did you actually see that?"
Gary nodded and said, "Yes, I saw it clearly with my own eyes. It's good that you called her out, but then I can tell from your gaze that you actually do care, don't you?"
Celeste's heart tightened, but she still nodded in full honesty. "Although I don't want to admit it, I had to say that her words were somehow making sense. It's true that I am relying on you and the Jones family's protection."
"What's wrong with you relying on me when you're mine?" Gary asked back with a smile, "She can't expect you to rely on someone else other than me,
can she?"
Celeste nodded. "You are right."
"Of course I am right. I'm not here to let you judge whether I'm right or not. I just want you to know deep down in your heart that we are sharing an equal relationship. You are relying on me, and at the same time, I'm relying on you too," Gary said in a low yet determined tone.
Celeste was a little surprised. "Are you saying that you actually rely on me too?"
Celeste thought about it carefully for a while, yet she still couldn't tell what Gary was relying on her for.
"Of course I do. We need each other, and no one can ever comfort me on the spiritual level like you do. Isn't this enough? You should know that nothing can top the spiritual level's support!" Gary sounded even more serious.
Celeste was actually touched by his comforting words.
She quickly adjusted her emotions and pulled herself together. She smiled at Gary and said, "That's enough. You don't have to comfort me. I'm not as weak as you think. It's just that, at that moment, I kind of agreed with what she said, and that made me a little emotional. However, I know I shouldn't let her manipulate my feelings with her words, as that is exactly what she wants to see."
"It seems like my girl knows everything. If that's the case, then don't fall for her tricks," Gary said.
"Don't you worry. I won't be used by her," Celeste replied.
"You will get a new phone number tonight, so stop using this number. Cindy won't be able to replace you even if she wants to," Gary said.
"Sure, I'll change my number." Celeste also agreed that she should stop using the number if she wanted to avoid troubles like that in the future. She had to make sure that Cindy wouldn't replace out about her new number too.
Noticing that Celeste was trying her best to adjust her emotions, Gary's heart ached for her. He reached out his hand to rub gently on her hair.
He also made up his mind to teach Cindy and Sinclair a lesson that time, so that they would behave and Celeste would have nothing to worry about in the future.
He would never allow Celeste to be harassed by those two shameless people again and again.
That afternoon.
Alex gave Celeste the new phone number and said, "This is from Mr. Ernest."
"That was fast," Gary said with a smile. He then took the card for Celeste and helped her install it. Seeing that they were so close with each other, Alex left the room with a smile.
Celeste was finally at ease after changing her phone number.
She could finally stop answering Cindy's calls.
Soon, they got off work and went home.
As soon as she entered the door, she felt that something was different. It was lively at home.
"Aunt Smith and Uncle Jones must be here already. Let's hurry inside," Celeste said as she pulled Gary's arm and went in a hurry. She was obviously delighted. They arrived in the hall hurriedly and sure enough, Grace and Heinz were having their tea by the couch, with Liam, Maria and Ernest keeping them company. "Uncle Jones, Aunt Smith, you're here," Celeste greeted them as soon as they walked in.
Heinz looked at Celeste and nodded slightly. "Celeste, you're back."
"Yes." Celeste smiled and nodded.
Grace had already stood up. She walked to Celeste, hugged her, and said with a smile, "You've changed. Celeste looks more cheerful now, doesn't she?" "Definitely more cheerful than before," Heinz answered naturally, "This is how youngsters should look, energetic and cheerful."
Gary was standing aside. He was staring at Grace as he noticed that both his parents were focusing on Celeste and only greeting her instead of him.
After hugging Celeste who was smiling shyly, Grace then glanced at Gary and asked, "What are you staring at? Is this the first time we're meeting each other?"
"You seem to only notice Celeste, and not me," Gary said, "I thought you didn't even see me."
"Celeste isn't the only one we care about. There are still Liam, Maria and Ernest," Grace said, deliberately leaving out Gary.
Gary knew that she was doing it on purpose.
He shrugged. "You purposely left me out, didn't you?"
"Yes, I did," Grace said.
Gary said with a shrug, "Fine, as long as you're happy."
Grace sat down with Celeste after joking around. Grace then said, "Now that you're back, let's get down to business."
"Mom, you are back with Dad because Cindy and Sinclair are in London right now, aren't you?"
Ernest asked.
Grace nodded and said, "Yes, your father and I came back because we were worried that them being in London might cause troubles for you." "They won't be able to stir up too much troubles," Gary said indifferently, as if he was really confident about it and wasn't bothered at all.
Heinz said, "Well, let's get things straight then. How do you plan to send Monica back after keeping her under surveillance?"
Hearing that, several of them were startled.
Gary raised his eyebrows. "Have you already found out about this?"
He was shocked deep down. He didn't expect Heinz to know about that. He really shouldn't have underestimated Heinz. After all, he was a veteran in that. Heinz must have already learnt about everything. "What's so strange about it?" Heinz looked at his son with a faint smile. Seeing his surprised expression, Heinz was delighted in his heart. Gary had always been arrogant and never really looked up to him, and that time he finally managed to surprise him.
"What else do you know apart from this?" Gary asked.
"A lot, actually. All I can say is, I have everything under control," Heinz said, "I've asked Jensen to make some calls around. You are only keeping Monica under surveillance as a means to extradite Cindy, aren' you?"
Gary was shocked again.
Then, he noticed Ernest, Liam and Maria were all startled too.
"You're right, I am indeed planning on this." Gary agreed and nodded. "She's behaving too arrogantly and she wouldn't leave Celeste alone. What's more frustrating is the fact that she isn't getting over you. You'd better stay alert and don't fall into her trap in the future. I can say that her biggest goal is to sleep with you."
