True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1716
Cindy was shocked by her reflection in the mirror, and she wondered when she had turned so haggard.
She had once been so beautiful and gorgeous.
But now she was ugly and old.
Her smooth skin was gone. It was now dull and wrinkled and had lost its luster.
Her black hair, which was once so beautiful that she could have starred in a shampoo advertisement, was in a mess and clung to her head like dried leaves. There was a bunch of gray hairs growing on her temples as well.
She could not believe that she had gray hair.
It was a sign of rapid aging.
She found it hard to believe that she looked like that.
With the gray hair, she seemed to have aged a few decades.
She did not want to admit that the woman in the mirror was her.
How could that ugly, disgusting-looking woman be
Cindy? Cindy thought to herself.
She had always been a bombshell.
But the woman looking back at her through the mirror was an old woman. How could that be?
Cindy shook her head in denial, shock and fear in her eyes.
She could not believe it.
There was no way that the woman in the mirror was her.
Celeste did not speak, but her gaze was fixed on Cindy's every move. She could see the change in Cindy once she realized how haggard she really looked. Although Cindy did not say anything, her repulsion toward her own reflection in the mirror was obvious.
Cindy looked deeply terrified by what she saw.
It turned out that the thing that could hurt Cindy and make her feel fearful was not a person. It seemed that she had no place for anyone in her heart.
She only cared about her appearance.
Cindy's greatest fear was aging. She was terrified of the old, haggard woman that she had become.
However, growing old was inevitable. Everyone would age no matter what they did.
Everyone would grow old. No one could remain young forever.
Celeste looked into Cindy's teary eyes and saw that she was truly devastated. For a moment, Celeste pitied her.
After a long while, Celeste spoke once more. "There's no way to get back your youth. The old woman you see in the mirror is how you look now. If you walk down the streets looking like that, do you think you'll be able to catch any man's eye?"
"Stop talking!" Cindy shook her head, shaking like a leaf. She refused to listen.
She had always been in the limelight. If she was on the red carpet, the paparazzi would surely point their cameras at her. Many men tried to chat her up, making her feel as if she was the most beautiful woman on the planet.
She used to be a hot topic for discussion everywhere, and she would hear praises about herself all the time.
Every movie she starred in was a hit, and she had signed many endorsement deals.
Many companies wanted her to endorse their products. She had always been a beautiful and sexy woman, and no one was her match. Therefore, she could not believe that she had become so old. She could not recognize the person in the mirror.
Cindy shuddered and quickly threw the mirror away.
The mirror landed on the bed and reflected the light in the room. Cindy was temporarily blinded by the bright glare.
She had to shut her eyes. It felt as if the mirror was mocking her stupidity.
She shook her head again and reached out to smooth her hair with shaky hands,
Celeste seized the opportunity to say, "Not only will no man pay any attention to you, but you'll be a disgusting sight even from a distance. In the future, you won't be considered a beauty. Everyone will think of you as an ugly, outdated actress."
After that, Celeste took out her phone and took a few pictures of Cindy, then showed them to her while sneering. "If I send these ugly photos of you and that film of yours to the media, your reputation in the entertainment industry will be ruined. You'll be infamous as the ugliest, most shameless actress in film history."
Her words left Cindy dumbfounded.
Cindy continued shaking her head, refusing to believe anything Celeste said.
No way.
There was no way that she looked that old.
"That can't be me. How can that be me?" she muttered.
"Who else could it be? Look closely. The ugly woman in these photos is you. Cindy, anyone who takes a look at you in the future will feel disgusted," Celeste retorted.
"Nonsense! You b*tch, how dare you curse me! That isn't me!"
Cindy quickly shook her head vehemently as fear flashed in her eyes. She refused to believe that the woman in the picture was her.
A voice in her mind kept assuring her that she was still beautiful. Her beauty would still be able to catch every man's eye.
She told herself that she was still the most beautiful woman in the world, and everyone was crazy over her.
"You've grown old, and you had your way with too many men. Now, you've even lost your uterus, so it's virtually impossible for you to maintain the vitality of your youth in the future. The only chance you have a reclaiming your beauty is to die of old age and reincarnate. The gods have served you justice. You deserve to grow old like this."
Celeste spoke in a cold, even tone.
She had never said anything spiteful or nasty on purpose in her life.
However, she had done so to Cindy.
The woman who had raised her until the age of sixteen.
The same woman that had caused her mother's death and played an important role in her life.
Celeste was really upset.
Even though she wanted to hurt Cindy and make her feel afraid, Celeste could not help pitying Cindy when she saw the fear in her eyes. She took a deep breath.
When Cindy moaned out Uncle Heinz's name in the film, Celeste thought that she was the vilest woman on the planet.
And that disgusting woman had called to threaten her.
She had even caused Gary to lose so much blood for her.
When she thought about how much blood Gary had wasted on Cindy, Celeste felt a wave of emotions.
She did not want to sympathize with Cindy. After all, Cindy had only herself to blame. She had to reap what she had sown.
If Celeste did not break Cindy's spirit, Cindy would definitely bring more harm to others in the future.
Therefore, Celeste was determined to break her there and then.
That was why she went to visit her.
Initially, she had decided not to visit Cindy before going to Boston. But Cindy's shameless film had changed her mind.
The Jones family had allowed her to experience the warmth of having a real family.
How could Celeste let a woman like Cindy disrupt Aunt Smith's happiness and disgust Uncle Heinz? Celeste thought to herself.
She felt that she had the responsibility to protect them.
Cindy had to pay the price.
Cindy was still shaking her head, and her eyes were wide with fear. She looked as if she was on the verge of fainting.
She walked closer to Cindy and said, "You once harbored evil intentions and ended up killing your best friend, Yannie. You thought that it would be beneficial to you if she were dead, but you were wrong. Yannie died young and beautiful, so that's how you, Sinclair, and everyone else will always remember her. You, on the other hand, had the time to grow old and ugly." "No, no, I'm still beautiful! Shut up!" Cindy shouted.
"I won't!" Celeste roared, intimidating Cindy.
She looked at Cindy with raging anger in her eyes.
"You're ugly! You always daydream about getting Uncle Heinz's attention, but you've never gotten it. Uncle Heinz only has eyes for Aunt Smith. She's the most beautiful woman in his eyes, and the most beautiful woman I know as well!"
"No, that's not true. I'm the most beautiful!" Cindy shook her head and shouted.
"You're the ugliest! You're old and ugly," Celeste snapped, cutting Cindy off harshly again. "You're the ugliest woman I've ever seen. Your face is full of wrinkles, and you don't even look like a woman anymore. You look like a talking corpse."
"No, that's not true!" Cindy yelled hysterically. She was getting emotional and looked as if she was moments away from fainting from shock.
She kept shaking her head and began pulling at her hair.
"No! I'm the most beautiful woman! No other woman can compare to me! Not Yannie, not Monica, not Suanne! Sinclair loves me the most. He doesn't love Yannie anymore! Heinz thinks about me constantly too. I'm sure he thinks that I'm beautiful!"
