Gary gazed at Celeste, feeling sorry for her. It hurt him to the core, and he pursed his lips, trying to control his emotions.

In his eyes, Celeste did not have to do that.

She was so weak that even trussing a chicken would prove a tough task for her. She seldom touched knives, including the cooking utensils. But now that she intended to put an end to everything, she was ready to disfigure Cindy with her own hands.

He could not bear it.

He could not bear to let her do such a thing.

"Celeste, since I'm here, you don't have to do it." Gary was willing to do anything for her, even if it was to shed someone's blood.

Besides, Cindy was too heinous.

"No, I have to do this," Celeste replied, shaking her head. "Listen to me this time. I'll take the lead."

Gary was stunned again.

He could see the grit and courage in her face.

Even Alex was impressed by what he saw.

He took out a Swiss Army knife.

He opened it up and held it out to Celeste.

The sharp blade shone in the light.

Noticing what Alex was doing, Gary growled disapprovingly, "Uncle Logan."

Alex looked at him while shaking his head.

In Alex's point of view, it was Celeste's choice.

She needed to do so in order to sever ties with Cindy completely.

It was a symbolic act for her, like a ceremony.

Sometimes, one had to go through a ceremony to get over the past and move on.

Gary was momentarily dumbfounded when he met Alex's disapproving gaze.

Celeste took the knife and held it firmly in her hand, shooting a grateful look at Alex. Then, she turned to smile at Gary.

It was a cold yet brave smile.

The sight of it made Gary feel even more reluctant to let her dirty her hands.

He was fretting over her so much that he felt as if his heart was in his mouth.

Celeste just shook her head slightly at him to reassure him.

Cindy was nonplussed when she saw that Celeste really had a knife in her hand. What was more, it was pointed at her.

Celeste took a step forward, and Cindy shook her head and screamed right away, "No, no! Celeste, you can't do this to me. I'm your aunt, your mother's best friend. I raised you. If you do this to me, you'll end up in hell."

Celeste looked directly into Cindy's eyes, not moved by her words at all.

She walked up to Cindy.

Two burly bodyguards held Cindy down, one on each side.

Alex gave the bodyguards a look, implying that they should prevent Cindy from moving at all costs. They could not afford any accidents.

Although Cindy was tied up, she could still struggle. Now that she was held down by the bodyguards in addition to being tied up, she would not be able to escape.

"Even if I have to go to hell, I'll personally destroy you," Celeste said, enunciating every word. "This is what you owe me."

"H-how can you be so cruel?" Cindy stammered. Sensing Celeste's resolve to settle the score with her, Cindy knew that she was in a hopeless situation.

She immediately turned to Gary with a pleading look in her eyes while yelling, "Gary, do you see that? Celeste is Sinclair's daughter. She's as coldblooded as her father. If you continue to date her, she'll treat you in the same heartless way in the future, just like how she's treating me now."

Gary knitted his brows and swept his gaze over Cindy.

His gaze was as sharp as a knife, as though he wanted to cut off Cindy's tongue.

Alex watched quietly, paying close attention to Celeste's every move.

"She's Sinclair's daughter, so half of her genes are inherited from him. Sinclair is ruthless and fickle. Her mother, Yannie, wasn't a saint either. She wasn't as innocent as she seemed to be, and she deserved to die. With their blood in Celeste's veins, how far can the apple fall from the tree?" Cindy said desperately.

Then, she continued, "Gary, you're Heinz's son. You should be dating a better woman.

"How can you date a b*tch like Celeste?

"This stony-hearted b*tch will treat you like this in the future.

"Seeing how she treats me, shouldn't you be afraid?"

Cindy shouted everything in one breath.

Gary's frown deepened.

Meanwhile, Celeste did not say a word.

She merely stared at Cindy with the knife in her hand.

Gary did not speak either.

Everyone heard Cindy's words.

But Gary did not take them to heart. He was well aware of Celeste's character.

He was not someone easily swayed by others' opinions and words.

He could also distinguish things clearly.

To him, Celeste was a different individual from Yannie. He knew what Yannie had been like, but he could not care less about that.

Yannie had passed away, and he did not care to pass judgment on someone already dead.

Besides that, Sinclair's disposition had nothing to do with Celeste.

Celeste had already made it clear that she would not acknowledge Sinclair as her father.

He was just a gene donor to her, not her father.

It was despicable of Cindy to try and sow discord between them.

Even in her current state, she intended to ruin their happiness. She was so odious.

He simply gazed at Cindy coldly, unmoved.

Flustered, Cindy added, "Don't pretend to be indifferent. The fact that she can bring herself to treat me in this way suggests that she'll treat you similarly." Gary remained silent.

Celeste grabbed the towel from the bodyguard's hand and stuffed it into Cindy's mouth.

"Mmmph," Cindy mumbled, unable to speak anymore.

Her eyes widened as she stared at the girl in front of her in terror. Celeste had a steely look of determination in her eyes, and she was emanating a chilling aura.

To Cindy's horror, she finally realized that Celeste had changed. Celeste was no longer the little girl she knew.

At that moment, Celeste had turned into a cold-hearted person.

Celeste sneered. "You forgot something. You did raise me, so I picked up a few things from you. In terms of heartlessness, you're second to none." Cindy could not reply because she had been gagged. At that moment, her biggest worry was that Celeste would really take the knife to her face. She had been able to accept losing her uterus.

But she could not bear the thought of having her face disfigured.

How could Cindy enjoy herself in the future if she was disfigured? Cindy thought desperately.

She shook her head frantically.

Celeste extended her hand, and the knife sliced across Cindy's cheek.

It was a quick cut.

Cindy froze, not daring to move.

Slowly, blood began oozing out from the cut.

Very quickly, the tiny beads of blood merged into streaks of blood.

The bloodstains stood out clearly against Cindy's skin.

The icy look in Celeste's eyes made her appear like a grim reaper, and she had an imposing aura about her.

"Don't move," Celeste said slowly in a cold voice. "The more violently you move, the longer the scars on your face."
