"Go ahead," Liam's so-called mother's tone was unpleasant. "Hurry up, stop beating around the bush."

Maria took a deep breath and asked, "May I ask how old you are?"

"I'm 52. What about it?" Liam's mother replied.

Maria nodded. "Oh, you're only 52. Well, you should still be able to move around, right? It's too early for Liam to support you."

"What?! I'm his mother! Of course he has to support me."

"It's fine for him to do so if you become unable to work. Furthermore, he doesn't have a responsibility to support his brother especially when his parents are still alive. If his parents are dead, then maybe, but that's not the case now, isn't it?" Maria was angered by Liam's mother, and her tone was equally unpleasant.

She felt sorry for Liam.

Liam's mother shouted back as soon as she heard Maria's words. "Who the hell do you think you are? You're bold enough to say this to me? What would

Liam think if he heard what you said to me."

Maria replied, "I'm his manager, and I'm in charge of all his affairs."

"Who do you think you are? I don't believe you." Liam's mother sneered, "Ask Liam to come to the phone. I want to tell him that you can't represent him."

Maria was suddenly rendered speechless.

Warmth landed on the back of her hand, and Maria stiffened. Liam reached out to take the phone back, and he said, "She has the authority to handle all of my affairs in the future."

"Oh, there you are. Who is that woman? She claims to be your manager and interferes in your personal affairs. Nonsense! She must be one of your mindless fan girls." Liam's mother, Vanessa, was very infuriating indeed.

Maria was truly astonished at her words.

However, she did not react, afraid that Liam would be worried about her.

"She's my manager, please mind your language," Liam replied in a cold voice.

"Is she really your manager?" Vanessa's tone was one of disbelief.

Liam replied, "Yup. I don't have any money to give you, nor will I give you any in the future. Not only that, you might have to pay my debt too. I terminated my contract with the Theclair Group, and I have to pay a hefty severance fee. If they come after me, you'll have a hard time too."

"What?!" Vanessa screamed, "You've terminated the contract? Why did you do that?"

"The company has blacklisted me, and I haven't made any money over the last few years. Don't you know that?" Liam asked.

"Is that true?" Vanessa's tone was one of disbelief.

"Doesn't matter whether you believe it or not. That's all, so I'll be hanging up first," Liam replied in a cold voice.

"Well, you have to give me some money first. What do I do if someone comes asking for money?"

"I said I don't have any money."

"You can borrow some."

Liam raised his brow. "Have you been gambling again?"

There was no response this time.

Liam hung up the phone.

He took a deep breath and seemed rather irritated.

Only then did Maria realize that Liam had this sort of woman for a mother. Vanessa was a gambler.

Just as she was about to speak, Liam looked over at her with bitterness in his eyes.

"She's a gambler, and she lives to take my money. There's no need to pick up any of her calls in the future."

Maria paused and her eyes narrowed. She looked at the devastation on Liam's handsome face.

Her heart was aching.

She approached Liam and reached out to hug him.

She just hugged him silently.

Perhaps a hug was what Liam needed right now.

Liam didn't need to be protected.

However, warmth bloomed in his chest when Maria hugged him.

He hugged Maria back as he observed the beautiful girl in his arms.

They hugged one another in silence, and they calmed each other down. Maria was feeling a myriad of emotions, and she didn't know what to say. Fortunately, Liam finally spoke up.

He said, "I'm fine, don't worry."

The phone rang again after he said that, and it was still Vanessa calling. Maria stiffened when

she saw that.

Liam comforted her and said, "Ignore it. She's been calling a lot these days. Even if I gave her endless amounts of money, she'd just waste it on the cards." Maria knew that gamblers would never quit the habit.

They would only get more excited if they had money, and their gambling addiction would only intensify.

Liam took the phone and declined the call right away.

He didn't intend to accept any more calls.

Maria observed what he did, and she didn't move to stop him. Frankly, she regretted asking Liam to answer the phone.

Perhaps she should not have answered the phone from the beginning.

However, ignoring the call didn't mean that the problem was solved. It still existed.

Maria thought for a while and finally sighed heavily.

"Liam, do you need me to do anything?" Maria finally spoke.

Liam smiled and said, "Yes, I do need you to do something."

"What is it?" Maria looked at him.

Liam pulled her into his lap. He kissed her until they were both out of breath, then he said, "I need you to do this, okay?"

Maria was shocked, and she noticed the desire in his eyes.

There was also a deep sense of despair in his eyes, and it was as if Liam wanted nothing else but her.

Right now, she was his savior.

Maria nodded silently. Then, she slid down and placed her face on his thigh.

"Maria." Liam took a deep breath. He didn't expect Maria to do this.

However, Maria just kept going.

She wanted Liam to relax, and she was very willing to do this.

Liam clenched his hands and took a deep breath. After some time, he held Maria's hands tightly and pulled her up.

"You don't have to do this, Maria," He said.

Maria was pulled into his arms, but she silently took off all her clothes.

She revealed all of her to Liam, and his eyes darkened with lust.

Then, Maria took Liam back to bed.

The both of them did not step out of the house that afternoon.

Three days later.

Cindy was handed over to the international police and brought back home.

It was said that Cindy had never tried to commit suicide again. She had been very quiet.

After Heinz visited her, she waited obediently for the police to come and collect her before she flew back home.

Meanwhile, Monica and Sinclair were taken to court.

They were waiting for their sentencing trial.

In the blink of an eye, it was time for Gary to return to Boston.

Furthermore, Celeste was supposed to go with him as well.

Of course, it was time for Grace and Heinz to return home.

When they arrived, there was just the two of them.

However, Grace had two new babies in her belly as they left.

Liam had met with the director, and he figured that he would leave the country with the director three days after Grace and Heinz left.

Everything was on track.

Celeste and Gary left first.

Only Maria, Liam and Ernest were left in the villa.

They booked Liam's plane ticket.

After he left, Maria and Ernest were the only ones left in the villa.

Christmas was right around the corner.

On Christmas Eve, Maria received a phone call.

It was Leah.

"Hey Maria, I'll be in London by 7pm tomorrow. Can you help me out?" Leah spoke to Maria over the phone.

Maria exclaimed in surprise. "You're coming? That's so sudden."

"I miss Ernest, and so I flew over to see him." Leah smiled.

"Ha, I think you flew over here to sleep with him, no?" Maria teased.

"Shh!" Leah didn't bother to be modest, and she admitted, "Of course, this is my right as his girlfriend, no?"

"Of course, but how can I help? Do you want to give Ernest a surprise?" Maria sounded very excited.
