True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1786
Leah put her phone away and returned to her textbooks.
She was in a bad mood that night and the only way to keep her mind occupied was to focus on studying. It was much more meaningful too. She muted her phone and she didn't know that he sent her several other messages.
It was not until midnight that she saw his messages. All of them were questions. "Are you pregnant? Answer me."
"Why are you so quiet? Are you pregnant?"
"Are you in the hospital now? Can you answer me?"
His questions were basically asking the same thing. Leah found them hilarious.
Why would she be pregnant?
Especially when they were that careful.
Leah had a stronger feeling that he was a jerk as he kept asking if she was pregnant or not.
Why would he be so hung up over this? Leah was mad at Hogan and Rowane's incident.
She couldn't understand why he interpreted it as her being pregnant instead.
Leah got a little frustrated that he thought she was pregnant. She ignored his messages and turned her phone off.
In the villa in London.
The atmosphere was a little strange. Maria had a bad feeling about this day.
Ernest was looking all icy, he seemed to be trapped in his own world.
He suddenly informed her that afternoon, "Maria, get ready. We are going back tonight. I've booked your ticket. Get your things ready and well go to the airport at 7:30 p.m." Hearing this, Maria shouted in surprise, "We're leaving today? I still have some things to settle. Didn't we agree to leave two days later?"
Even though she was eager, she was not in such a hurry to return.
"Yes, we're leaving today." Ernest nodded. "Pack your luggage."
Maria asked in confusion, "Is this about Leah?"
Ernest didn't say anything and only lowered his head. He looked a little down.
Maria immediately understood. She said, "Alright then. We'll leave tonight." Ernest nodded.
They made some arrangements and packed their luggage quickly.
In the evening, Ernest took Maria to the airport.
On their flight, Ernest was still looking all icy. Maria felt uneasy sitting next to him.
She was curious to know what happened to Leah that Ernest was in such a hurry to go back.
She hesitated several times until she could no longer hold back. "Ernest, what's wrong? Why are we returning this early? You were telling me you didn't want to come back with me, and here we are on the plane already. Can't we plan things ahead?"
Ernest didn't say anything. His face fell as he pursed his lips.
Maria felt that this was a little tricky.
"Have you contacted Leah?" Maria asked.
Ernest nodded. "Yes, I did." Maria then asked, "Did you not talk things through? Is this why you're rushing back?"
Ernest hesitated for a moment before finally saying, "Leah was pregnant. She terminated her pregnancy."
Maria was dumbfounded. She gasped, with her hand covering her mouth, "How did this happen?
Ernest, aren't you a jerk for getting her pregnant? What am I supposed to do with this?"
With his eyes down, Ernest looked upset.
Maria finally understood why Ernest was so anxious to go back.
Leah's pregnancy was definitely a big deal.
She was flustered too, and even a little distressed. It was huge for one to deal with it alone. No wonder Ernest was on his way back overnight.
After that, Maria sat quietly beside Ernest and didn't ask him anything else.
Ernest didn't even rest on his way back.
Maria fell asleep instead. After waking up, she saw Ernest typing on his laptop. She didn't know what he was typing as he shut his laptop down after noticing she was awake.
Maria didn't ask either. It was 7 a m. when their plane arrived at Northern City.
They called a cab after walking out from the airport with their luggage.
Maria was pushed into the cab by Ernest, who then said, "You go home first, or go to Liam, whichever you want. Just text me when you reach your destination."
After saying this, he took note of the cab driver's license plate.
Maria nodded. She didn't dare refute Ernest. She knew he was anxious about replaceing Leah first.
She said, "Ernest, go get Leah and remember to not cross her line. Just tolerate her and listen to her. Don't worsen her situation by making her angry, it might lead to hemorrhage. Remember this." Ernest's face fell upon hearing this. He nodded and got into another cab.
The two cabs then drove away from the airport.
Maria was wondering if she should head home or replace Liam.
Liam should be on set at this hour. She would be left alone if she went to him.
Maria then decided to return to the Lowe Villa.
Ernest headed straight to Leah's campus.
It was only 7:30 a.m. as he reached there.
A man was waiting there and gave Ernest a set of keys. "Young Master, these are the keys to her unit."
"Thanks. Don't tell anyone that I'm back," Ernest said lightly.
"Noted, Young Master," the man said.
Ernest nodded and said, "You can go back now." The man nodded and left quickly.
Ernest opened the door to Leah's hostel building and walked in with his luggage.
Leah slept well the night before and she was energized that morning. She got dressed and prepared breakfast for herself. She was about to sit down when she heard someone knocking on her door. It was a loud knock. Leah was suspicious. Why would someone knock on her door?
She looked through the peephole.
Before she could see clearly, she heard Ernest's voice saying, "Leah, open the door. It's Ernest."
Leah was dumbstruck. She stood there wondering what was happening.
Why did he come back?
Why was he here?
She was frozen in place.
Ernest said again, "Open the door."
Leah frowned. She took deep breaths one after another to calm herself down. She then opened the door.
Ernest stood at the door in a thick windbreaker. His tall figure looked intimidating.
His gaze was glued on Leah.
Leah was confused. She noticed his luggage and frowned. "Why are you suddenly back? And why are you here? Didn't we talk things through already?"
"Let's talk inside." Ernest looked at Leah. He couldn't tell whether she was healthy or not.
He wasn't sure if she was recently pregnant, or if it was some time ago.
If it was some time ago, then it would make sense for her to look healthier.
She did head out for a gathering the previous night. Ernest guessed that it should've been some time ago since she terminated her pregnancy.
Ernest walked in with his luggage.
He didn't give Leah a chance to refuse.
Leah had no choice but to let him in. "I don't think there's anything else left to discuss. It's rude for you to come uninvited. I hope you can respect me a little more in the future."
