True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1871
Grace was lost in thought.
After hanging up the phone, Grace remained motionless for a long while. She was in a trance.
This surprised Heinz. He didn't know what happened to his wife. He looked suspiciously at her for a long while and found that her mind seemed vacant. He didn't know what she was thinking. He couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong? You've been out of it ever since you talked to Jensen. You look like you went into shock."
With that, she returned to her senses and looked at Heinz with a frown. "I've been thinking about something."
"What have you been thinking about?" Heinz could not help but ask.
"I'm wondering which one of us has a problem," Grace said bluntly.
Heinz was shocked and replied, "What problem are you talking about? Are you feeling ill? If you are, we've got to get you to the hospital right away to get treated! What's wrong? Could it be that Jensen has fallen ill? Or is it Alice?"
Heinz asked several questions in succession. After giving him a blank stare, Grace let out a loud sigh.
Heinz was messing around too much.
Heinz was still puzzled. "What's going on? You look like you've been rendered speechless."
"Indeed. I really have nothing to say," Grace admitted.
"I made you speechless?" Heinz was very puzzled. "Why?"
Grace was not one to avoid the doctors. She thought carefully about what Jensen said before. After some contemplation, she turned to Heinz and asked, "Heinz, tell me frankly, do you think I am really strict with Sylvia?"
Heinz was stunned by the question. He looked at his wife with a flicker of doubt in his eyes.
This couldn't be a trap, could it?
If he gave her an unsatisfactory answer, he would not be able to save himself.
Heinz took a deep breath and looked at his wife hesitantly. He blinked and said, "Honey, what's wrong? You're strict with Sylvia, but not overtly so. I'm not strict with her at all, so it's only normal for you to be the stricter one in the family. Otherwise, she would think she owned the world, wouldn't she? She might become spoiled."
Heinz said tentatively.
Grace was disappointed by his answer.
She thought that Heinz was just sugarcoating his words as he was worried that the truth would anger her. "Heinz, you don't have to be so wary of telling me the truth. I'm just asking about your thoughts. If you think I'm very strict with Sylvia, you should just tell me. I'm not going to give you any trouble, I'm just asking for your opinion."
Heinz asked with uncertainty, "You're asking for my opinion on educating our child?"
Grace glared at him. "What do you think I'm doing if not that?"
Heinz muttered, "I thought you were trying to start a fight with me."
Grace couldn't help rolling her eyes at him. "Alright, I'll tell you frankly."
"What do you want to tell me?" Heinz looked at his wife warily. He really didn't know what Grace was going to say.
Grace told Heinz everything that Jensen had said.
Heinz slapped his thigh after listening, and then praised loudly, "Kendrix is so awesome. I think it's great that Sylvia is being so smart about this. Look, she's finally found a man who appreciates her just as I
do."
Grace gaped at her husband, rendered speechlessly.
"Jensen praised that fellow's intellect a lot. Furthermore, the fact that a policeman had gone undercover as a teacher in the school doesn't sit right with me. Why do I feel like it's a bad omen?" Grace asked. "He even called Jensen crazy!"
Heinz shrugged his shoulders and said, "He's a genius. How can we be sure what a genius's thoughts are? Anyway, I think that Sylvia isn't acting odd at all."
"From the sound of it, it seems like you think I'm the one who's acting odd." Grace glared at her husband.
Heinz's heart quivered in fear at that. He felt that he had triggered his wife again. He had to be careful with his words. He could not forget himself just because someone had praised his daughter.
He quickly said to his wife, "Of course not! You and Jensen are acting normal, but your guys' version of normal is not the same as Sylvia's, is it? We've been told that Sylvia's really clever and normal. She's fine! You're worrying yourself over nothing."
Grace felt that Heinz's words sounded a bit odd. She frowned and asked Heinz, "You mean that neither Jensen nor I are clever, then? Your daughter is the only smart one?"
"Come on, think about it. If you weren't smart, how could you give birth to such a smart daughter? That means that you're really smart, doesn't it?" He quickly twisted his words, hoping that his wife would not continue to trouble him. If he made Grace angry again, it would be torture.
Grace was not really angry with him. After thinking for a while, she replied, "I don't know what the teacher's intentions are, so I want to meet him."
"You want to meet the teacher?" Heinz was very surprised. He thought that it was unnecessary. "Why do you want to see him?"
"Well, because of his doubts. I feel like he might have sensed something lacking in us as parents, you know? If I really do lack something, I'd like to get the teacher's suggestions to fix it. It may be of great help to educate Sylvia." Grace felt that she had to accept constructive criticism if that were the case.
Heinz looked at his wife's belly and said, "You're pregnant. It's not convenient for you to move around. Why don't I go meet this teacher by myself? I think he really appreciates our daughter's intellect." "That might not be the case. Perhaps they were just being truthful," Grace said. "Perhaps I don't understand Sylvia enough. I feel that Sylvia's behavior in school and at home are different. That's why the teacher had such a favorable impression of her."
"Dear, you seem to have forgotten that he is a young genius. Even Jensen thinks that he is a young genius. He would definitely live up to his name."
Heinz was full of praises for this young genius he had never met before.
Grace glared at him and said jokingly, "Then I really have to go take a look at him. Maybe this young genius would start appreciating Sylvia so much that he might even become our son-in-law in the future." Hearing this, Heinz's face darkened. "What? Honey, don't talk nonsense."
Grace sneered at him and said, "What? Are you suddenly worried about Sylvia's marriage?"
"Sylvia is still underaged." Heinz reminded her, "Honey, don't make inappropriate jokes about a teacher and a student like that. We must educate our daughter well. She can't think that she can always do whatever she wants. We'll have to set a good example for the kid to follow and pay close attention to them."
Grace smiled at Heinz and said, "You're right. We should pay close attention to them."
Eventually, the topic came to an end. Grace did not say anything else.
However, Heinz and Grace were both deep in thought.
Early the next morning, Grace got up and prepared to go to school.
Sylvia did not call her back the night before. Although she tried her best to leave her daughter to live in the school dorms, she was very frustrated that she could not see Sylvia every day.
As Sylvia wasn't home that night, Grace couldn't sleep properly. She tossed and turned the entire night.
Heinz was woken up by her several times. He watched Grace check her phone several times, as if she was waiting for someone's call.
He was certain that she was waiting for Sylvia's call.
However, Sylvia did not make a single phone call. It seemed that she was enjoying herself in the dorms. She did not give either of her parents a phone call.
He was disappointed as well.
Heinz felt very helpless.
"Are you going to the school?" Heinz asked Grace when she noticed that Grace had dressed up to go out.
"Yes." Grace took a look at him and said, "You can head over to the company. Don't worry about me. I'm going to the school with Alice. She will pick me up later. You can get back to work." "Why don't we go together?" Heinz didn't want to be left behind. He wanted to see his daughter too.
"I'm not going to see Sylvia. I'm going to see her teacher," Grace said.
"What's there to see?" Heinz retorted. "I want to see Sylvia. Honey, can I please go with you?"
He pleaded with his wife.
Grace pulled a long face and replied, "No, you either stay home or go to the company. You can't come with me."
