Kendrix didn't say anything. He just glance at Grace calmly, then continued to look at the images.

The whole office was exceptionally quiet. Only the sound of the projector's button clicking could be heard.

Kendrix remained silent.

Alice and Grace were silent as well.

They sat on the sofa and looked at the images with Kendrix. The projector projected the enlarged images on the wall.

The light in the room was particularly dim, and each picture looked bloody, making people feel as if they were really on a crime scene and were looking at the dismembered body. In fact, it was even creepier than looking at the real scene.

Although Alice had been Jensen's wife for many years and knew that he had dealt with all kinds of cases, she had never expected a crime scene to look so bloody. She could not help herself from gasping at the images.

Grace's face was pale from the start, as if she had been frightened. She took deep breaths as she looked at the images.

She reminded herself that she came here for her daughter. These victims covered in blood were probably innocent.

They had died an unnatural death.

As for Mr. Trevino, he did his job by analyzing these images in detail, and wrote down his deductions as to who the suspect could be.

It was an extremely tough job, worthy of everyone's praise and respect.

Although Kendrix was a young genius, he was also a normal person.

If the images were something Kendrix could stomach, Grace could as well. She wanted to be brave for her daughter.

After looking at the images, Grace started to look up to Kendrix even more. The young man did not seem fazed by the gory images at all. He seemed calm and collected.

It was clear that he had seen a bunch of these photos before.

He did not seem at all shocked by the gory images which suggest that he frequently came in contact with them. It made Grace deeply admire the young man.

It was a rare quality, in a man

At such a young age, Kendrix was able to stomach looking at these images. He did not seem to be afraid, and remained silent the entire time. He was really a rare talent. From his behavior, Grace confirmed that he was indeed a young genius.

She thought the man was probably two or three years older than Gary and Ernest. Even though he was still young, he was already so successful in his industry. The more Grace looked at the young man, the more she admired him.

After looking at the images, Kendrix busied himself on the computer.

Alice held her sister's arm tightly with sweaty palms. She tried to calm herself down, but she couldn't help herself from sweating.

Grace reached out and patted her hand in comfort.

Alice looked at her sister in surprise. She reached out to touch Grace's belly, silently reminding her that she was pregnant.

Grace shook her head lightly and wordlessly gestured to her sister that she was fine.

Alice was surprised. She did not know how her sister had been able to stomach looking at those images.

She thought that Grace had been frightened by the images earlier, but after a short while, she seemed to calm down and remained quiet.

Alice felt a little relieved.

Kendrix glanced over at the two sisters calmly and saw that the two of them were conversing with their eyes. It seemed that they were comforting each other in the dim light. They did not notice that he was looking at them.

Kendrix turned off the projector, then switched on the lights.

The whole room was as bright as day.

Alice and Grace's eyes adjusted slowly to their surroundings.

The both of them fixed their gaze on Kendrix.

Kendrix said, "Mrs. Jones, what do you want to talk about? I only have ten minutes to spare. I hope you can hurry up."

"Oh, okay, Mr. Trevino." Grace nodded. "I heard about you from Officer Charm. You said something about me being a problem, didn't you?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Alice subconsciously turned to look at Grace.

Grace sounded a little unconfident in herself.

Since when did Grace become a problem?

It was obviously Sylvia who was the problem, wasn't it?

Grace was very direct. He met Kendrix's gaze head on.

The straightforward question had somehow stunned Kendrix for a short moment.

After a short pause, Kendrix replied, "Mrs. Jones, I'm an investigator, not a doctor."

"I know you have profound knowledge of psychology, Mr. Trevino," Grace said with a smile. "I'm talking about psychology. Do you think I'm mentally problematic? Am I normal?"

"I'm not sure how to answer that. However, I'll have to let you know that Sylvia's very smart, and there's nothing wrong with her. If that's what you wanted to know, there's your answer. I think she's fine."

Grace was stunned by the answer. Then, she asked, "So you're telling me that you appreciate Sylvia's talents?"

Hearing this, Kendrix slightly raised his eyebrows and then admitted, "Yes, I appreciate her intelligence very much."

Kendrix's answer was very frank. Grace did not know what else to say.

"Don't you think that the girl's really rude sometimes? Don't you think she crosses the line too often?" Alice asked on Grace's behalf.

Grace nodded along. She wanted to know the answer to that as well.

Kendrix smiled and asked, "I don't know what you guys mean by crossing the line too often. Look at the both of you. The two of you came to me today to ask for information that's supposed to be answered by the head teacher. However, you insisted on coming to me instead. You realize that I am under no obligations to entertain you, right? Wouldn't this mean that the both of you crossed the line today?" Grace and Alice were momentarily stunned by this question. They didn't expect Kendrix's sharp jab.

Grace remained calm. She nodded and said, "Indeed. It seems that my sister and I have crossed the line today. Even though you refused to see us, we still had the cheek to seek you out ourselves without your permission. Indeed, we have crossed a line."

Kendrix looked calm and said nothing.

She smiled and continued, "Mr. Trevino, I just want to know if you can give me more details about Sylvia. Is there really no problem with my daughter? How can you tell that there's nothing wrong with her?"

Perhaps because of her very sincere attitude, Kendrix answered frankly, "Sylvia is a very passionate girl. She is very optimistic and is willing to help others in any case. She's extremely curious about everything and desires to explore. She always remains positive even when she gets wronged or misunderstood. I think her optimism is a very rare quality. Mrs. Jones, I think you might need to reflect a bit more on your thoughts on Sylvia. Don't you think that you're being too critical of her? Don't just focus on her mistakes. Take some time to realize her good points as well."

Grace felt herself blush from embarrassment at that.

She stole a glance at Alice.

Alice blinked and nodded unconsciously. "I guess you're right. I suppose we've been too focused on Sylvia's shortcomings. She loves to eavesdrop on conversations. Mr. Trevino, has she done that to you before?"

"No," Kendrix answered.

"No wonder. If you caught her eavesdropping on you, I'm sure your opinion of her will change." Alice continued, "Mr. Trevino, you probably never had a teenager eavesdrop on you before, have you?" Alice thought that Kendrix might reconsider his previous opinion of Sylvia after that. She wanted to let him know that Sylvia had many flaws as well.

However, Kendrix merely smiled and said, "I have." "Oh? You've encountered one?" Alice exclaimed in surprise. "Who's it? Who else has a kid that acts like Sylvia?"

"It was Sylvia, actually," Kendrix said in a low voice. "However, she didn't get to eavesdrop on anything. I noticed the listening device beforehand and removed it in advance."

Alice and Grace looked at him in shock.

"Mr. Trevino, since you know about Sylvia's odd habit, why do you still hold her in such high regard?" Alice asked once more.

"To be honest, I think her talent for eavesdropping is pretty great," Kendrix said. "She's spirited and loves to take risks. Even though I'm her teacher, she still has the guts to challenge me. Isn't her bravery commendable?"
