True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1886
Kendrix stared fixedly at Gary for a while before turning around. He took a random book from the bookshelf and started reading the book.
Gary laughed and said, "Mr. Trevino, I must've upset you. The book is actually upside down, so you can stop pretending that you're reading it. I don't think it's embarrassing for you to admit that you like my sister."
Hearing this, Kendrix slightly frowned.
Gary continued, "Although she's still a minor, she's still a beautiful young lady. I know you're a police officer and it's not appropriate for you to develop feelings for a minor. But you're a man too, and some men do like them younger. I understand this well and I promise I won't make fun of you over this."
Gary laughed wildly.
Kendrix looked at him coldly. He was not embarrassed at all. Perhaps his EQ was just too good to show his emotions.
Gary looked at Kendrix with a smile.
Kendrix calmly put back the book on the
bookshelf and picked another one.
He started reading the new book.
"It still doesn't make any difference even after you change another book. Just stop putting up the act already. I know you like my sister," Gary said.
"Why are you forcing this on me?" Kendrix still kept his composure as he asked.
"Didn't I tell you that I like you? Otherwise, I wouldn't even be wasting my time with you over here," Gary said naturally, "I'll be frank with you. I'm not like this with the others." Kendrix glanced at him. "Are you saying that I should feel honored?"
"Yes." Gary nodded. "You should indeed feel honored."
Kendrix gave him another glance and said, "You and your sister are really alike. You love excusing yourselves."
Gary smiled and refuted, "That depends on the other party though. Some people would never let us excuse ourselves at all. Am I right, Mr. Trevino?"
Kendrix frowned again. Even a fool could make out that Gary was referring to him in that remark.
Kendrix was helpless at how obsessed Gary was with him.
Kendrix said, "If you continue to be like this, I'm afraid I'll only disappoint you."
"Mr. Trevino, it doesn't do you any good to keep refusing me either," Gary said, "I'd advise you to just listen to me and stop being the annoying guy."
"It seems like you don't like people like me?" Kendrix asked.
Gary nodded his head again. "You're right. I used to be like you, and now that I think back at it, you seem to be worse than me."
Kendrix's lips twitched. "You're really doing everything for your sister's sake."
"That's not true. I'm just telling the truth. I do want someone to take care of her, and that person just happens to be you. I will feel more comfortable if you're the one who takes care of her from now on. I can't just let any random guy take advantage of her, can I?" Gary stared at Kendrix as if he was trying to drive Kendrix crazy.
Kendrix was helpless too. He laughed lightly. "I have to admit that you're quite confident of yourself, and I wouldn't want to hurt your confidence either."
Gary smiled. "Then, don't do so. You can start by addressing me as your brother-in-law. I'll allow you to do this even before you marry her."
Kendrix was speechless. "I feel so honored that I don't know what else to say."
"I feel great to make a genius like you speechless too." Gary laughed again.
Kendrix could finally see that Gary was just the same as Sylvia.
It is a headache dealing with this pair of siblings.
Once they got obsessed with you, they would never leave you alone.
Kendrix pulled another book out from the shelf. He didn't want to talk more with Gary. He just wanted some time to himself and buy the reference material he needed.
Gary stood there watching him and making small talk with him without raising his volume.
He was just casually chatting with Kendrix.
"You should just return to your unit after your internship. She's still in eleventh grade, and she needs another year to graduate from high school. By then she will finally be an adult," Gary said.
Kendrix didn't react.
Gary continued, "I'll tell you a secret. My mum was only 19 years old when she gave birth to me and my brother. I believe Sylvia can do the same too."
Hearing this, Kendrix frowned. "Mr. Jones, this is inappropriate."
He seemed to be a little triggered by this.
Gary shrugged his shoulders and said, "It's nothing actually. My girlfriend and I already had feelings for each other when we were 13 years old. Yet we only started dating at 20 years old. Just make sure you take full responsibility of her when the time comes. It won't be inappropriate."
Kendrix was still frowning at this topic.
Gary was an observant person, and he knew just when to stop.
After all, he believed he had already made himself clear enough to Kendrix.
Kendrix would be able to do his own thinking.
They were still standing there.
A gorgeous man would attract attention wherever he went, let alone two gorgeous men standing together.
They garnered much attention with their presence.
Especially the young ladies. They were all stealing glances at the both of them.
As for Celeste, she started looking for Gary as soon as she got his location.
She and Sylvia found them not too long after. They spotted Gary and Kendrix talking in low whispers.
Sylvia became anxious as soon as she saw this. She immediately quickened her steps.
"Celeste, what is Gary doing with Mr. Trevino?"
She sounded nervous and frustrated.
Celeste gently comforted, "Sylvia, don't worry. Your brother may not seem like it, but he knows what he's doing."
Sylvia was startled. She noticed that she was showing her nervousness. She immediately smiled shyly at Celeste, "I didn't mean that."
Celeste smiled and said, "Let's go."
They approached the guys.
Sylvia took a deep breath and said with a huge smile, "Mr. Trevino, Gary, what are you two doing together? Did you all run into each other again? Isn't this too much of a coincidence?"
Sylvia was smiling at them. It didn't feel awkward at all. Her smile was so bright and dazzling that it made one's heart skip a beat.
After a glance, Kendrix withdrew his gaze.
Gary took in Kendrix's expression and saw that he stiffened a little as soon as Sylvia started approaching them and talking to them.
If there was nothing between them, why was he acting so tense then?
If he treated Sylvia as just a little girl, he wouldn't be acting like this.
Gary smiled and said in a great mood, "Sylvia, I just got reminded that Celeste and I are actually rushing for a movie. Why don't you follow Mr. Trevino back, just like how he got you out here?"
Upon hearing this, Sylvia was dumbfounded. "Are you saying you won't be sending me back? And Mr. Trevino will send me back?"
"That's right." Gary smiled mischievously at Sylvia. "You won't want to interrupt my date with Celeste, would you?"
Sylvia stared at him with a complicated expression, and then at Kendrix who was in silence. She immediately smiled, "Mr. Trevino, sorry for bothering you again."
