The man's cry of pain was so agonizing, it sounded as if he were about to die.

Ernest looked down at the man, and couldn't help but admire Gary.

Gary was a ruthless man indeed.

He was going to break the man's neck.

Ernest had to remind him. "Gary, the neck is very delicate. You could paralyze him."

Gary did not become afraid when he heard that. Instead, he became even more excited.

"So what if he becomes paralyzed? It's not like our family can't afford to pay his medical bills. In fact, we can afford to pay even if we paralyze all of them. Furthermore, I did this to defend my brother. I'm sure that Dad will get the best lawyers to make sure I'm innocent."

Ernest's mouth twitched when he heard this.

Of course, he knew that Gary purposely said those words for the man's ears

After some thought, Ernest realized that Gary was right.

Even if he paralyzed the man, Gary might not be in the wrong.

"Well, that's true." Ernest nodded and spoke in an exaggerated tone, "Even if we kill him, it's just selfdefense. Plus, they were the ones who started it."

"Then there's no way we can let him off the hook. Ernest, do you think I should paralyze him or kill him?" Gary asked nonchalantly.

Ernest paused for a moment before he said. "Kill him then. Your strength is unparalleled, so I'm sure that he's going to die either way."

Their conversation nearly drove the man on the ground insane with fear.

He was so scared that he almost screamed. "I'll talk, I'll talk. Please, let me go."

A smile flashed across Gary's handsome face. He looked at his younger brother with a look of satisfaction.

Ernest chuckled as well. Gary was not someone to be trifled with.

Neither of them was in a hurry to interrogate the man.

The man quickly confessed, "The Wells family sent us. Mrs. Wells said that if we kidnap Mr. Jones and Miss Winston, then her son will have a chance to be released."

Ernest frowned when he heard that.

Leah was also shocked.

She didn't expect Mrs. Wells to be so vicious. She would take any risk to save her son.

She looked at the man in astonishment.

Celeste was also puzzled.

Gary looked at Ernest quizzically, "Mrs. Wells? Is that Hogan's mother?"

"Yeah, that's right." Ernest nodded.

"Heh." Gary sneered. "You sure are brave. How dare you attack the Jones family?"

"I screwed up! I'll never do it again. Please forgive me. We're just trying to make a living too," The man cried.

"Ha, this isn't just any job for you." Gary radiated a killer's dangerous aura. "If I let you go so easily, wouldn't it seem like the Jones family are pushovers?"

"Kind sir, please, I know I was wrong. I won't do it again." The man underneath Gary's foot begged for mercy.

Ernest glanced at Gary before he said, "How about this? We let him go and use him to trick Mrs. Wells into our custody?"

Ernest's idea was immediately accepted by the man. "We'll do whatever you say. Please don't hurt us! Give us a chance. We'll cooperate with you in any way that you want." By then, the police arrived.

Gary shrugged his shoulders and said to Ernest, "You came just in time. Looks like we need the police's help to capture Mrs. Wells."

Ernest smiled and said, "Let me call Uncle Charm and have him get it all sorted out."

"Sure, call him."Gary nodded.

The police were shocked to see the scene in front of them. One of them asked, "What's going on?"

Gary said, "Why don't you ask this man under my feet to tell you what's going on?"

However, Gary did not take his foot off the man. He did not seem fazed by the presence of the police.

The man was frightened by Gary's foot on his neck.

Another one of the attackers quickly said to the police, "We were hired to kidnap the son of the Jones family and his girlfriend. In the end, we were bested by him instead." The policemen were all stunned.

Ernest successfully called his uncle and handed the phone to the police. "Officer Jensen Charm would like to speak with you."

The officer was astonished and immediately answered the phone. He said respectfully, "Officer Charm, we're prepared to do whatever you need."

Jensen relayed his instructions to the officers.

The officer nodded respectfully. "Yes, I will cooperate with the plan to the best of my ability and I'll investigate this thoroughly."

Sure enough, they followed Ernest's plan to capture Mrs. Wells to the letter.

First, the attackers called Mrs. Wells.

"Mrs. Wells, we've got 'em."

From the other end came Mrs. Wells's sinister laugh. "Good work. Send them to the place we agreed on beforehand. I'll be right there."

'You need to think this through, Mrs. Wells." The man said everything according to the script Ernest had provided him, he dared not deviate in front of Ernest and the cops. He only hoped he could get off easier Now, everyone knew who they'd crossed. Although they didn't get much money, they knew better than to act out.

"Think?" Mrs. Wells sneered. "Do I still have to do that? My son is about to be sentenced to jail. That will ruin his whole life. How could I take it lying down?"

"Mrs. Wells, we agreed to bring them to you safe and sound. Why do you sound like you want to hurt them?" The man's tone was suspicious.

"Why are you asking so much?" Mrs. Wells became impatient. "Get them to the place we agreed on. If I can't touch Ernest Jones, then I'll do something to Leah. That b*tch was so cruel to my son. How could I just bear it?"

Leah was shocked. She did not expect that Mrs. Wells hated her so much.

She took a deep breath and looked up at Ernest, who stood beside her.

Ernest was also frowning, he took Leah's hand wordlessly in a comforting action.

Leah shook her head, indicating that she didn't care about it either way.

However, she was felt helpless.

So annoying!

"Oh, after you get them here, you can go grab that batch's sister Rowane for me. No one in the Winston family deserves to be let off." Mrs. Wells spoke over the phone.

No one answered Mrs. Wells.

A long silence hung in the air.

Ernest gave the man a pointed glance. He quickly said, "Okay, sure."

Then he hung up the phone.

Everyone arrived at the address set by Mrs. Wells.

Then they called her. "We've brought them."

Mrs. Wells sneered and said, "Right, wait for me. I'll be right over. Oh, make sure to tie them up."

"Okay, Mrs. Wells."

"I'll wire you the money. Get someone to kidnap Rowane for me and I'll give you another five hundred grand."

"All right."

Everyone just agreed to whatever Mrs. Wells asked.

The ambush was in place after the call was disconnected.

They were in an abandoned warehouse that belonged to the Wells family. It was clear that Mrs. Wells was planning to kill someone here.

She was really going all out!

The police concealed themselves in the wings, waiting.

Half an hour later, Mrs. Wells arrived.

She was not alone. She was followed by a man in his fifties with a bag in his hand.

The person was not Hogan's father, but a man who looked more like a butler. The moment they entered the warehouse, they saw that both Ernest and Leah were standing there. The men Mrs. Wells hired stood aside, while Gary and Celeste were also present. Mrs. Wells and the butler were both shocked.

Mrs. Wells frowned immediately. "What's this? Didn't I ask you to tie them up?"

The butler carrying the bag seemed to realize something and turned back immediately.

The warehouse door slammed closed.
