True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1974
Janice was stunned. He sounded like a completely different person. Janice even suspected him of having multiple personality disorder.
She stared at Lowell as he answered the phone, he was speaking to his family member in the gentlest tone possible.
That tone was so familiar to her. She used to enjoy listening to it too. That tone of his was really memorable.
Since when did he stop talking to her in that tone?
It was probably from the day of Celeste's miscarriage. Ever since that incident, she had never heard Lowell speak to her in such a gentle tone anymore.
As of then, she actually missed it a little.
Janice was stunned, she shook her head again. Since she had lost him, then let it be. Some things were meant to be lost, for if one did not lose it, how would they be able to get something else? "Ernest, I am a little busy, I will call you later."
Lowell hung up the phone in a hurry.
He did not waste any time with Ernest, for Lowell did not want to let Janice know too much from what he talked with Ernest.
When Janice heard the call, she suddenly laughed in a strange way. She smiled in a weird way, seeming like she was a little proud.
"You don't dare to answer Ernest's call because you are afraid that he would sense something unusual from you. You don't even dare to let Celeste know that I am pregnant with Gary's child." Lowell narrowed his eyes, there was a trace of confusion in it. He was a little suspicious of Janice's expressions. He did not know why she would show such an expression, and it was slightly strange. Perhaps it was because he hated scheming women the most. Due to that, Lowell was disgusted at people like her showing such expressions. He was also very sensitive to it, and he immediately observed something. Then, he shot his sharp gaze towards Janice.
Before Janice could hold back that smirk on her face, Lowell saw it.
After that, her expression froze, then she continued to sneer.
Lowell suddenly realized something, he squinted at Janice, as if he had sensed something different.
He looked at Janice dangerously, and Janice panicked because of his look.
He did not say anything either. When he was staring at her like that, the aura eluded from him was exceptionally powerful.
Janice was shocked by his temperament, but she did not want to let him know that she was afraid, so, she snorted.
"Lowell, you can't imprison me like this." Janice requested him to let her go once more.
Lowell's lips just faintly twitched, he completely ignored Janice's yelling.
He sat down on the sofa and crossed his long legs, ignoring Janice. He just looked at her without saying a word, and his body language was greatly intimidating.
Janice could not do anything, and she could only stare blankly.
Time slowly ticked by.
The longer Janice waited, the more anxious she got. The person who had come to pick her up should still be waiting for her. However, she was uncontactable then, and she had lost her freedom. She was anxious, and she could only roam around in the ward like a lost puppy.
However, Lowell still remained silent.
She took a deep breath and adjusted her mood. After that, she decided to continue negotiating with Lowell, trying to persuade him to let her go.
"Lowell, let's talk," Janice said.
"I have nothing to talk to you about." Lowell rejected Janice's attempt coldly.
"We have known each other for so long, how could there be nothing to talk about?" Janice smiled, she tried to go soft with him. "Actually, you should know, when I first met you, I felt a very positive temperament from you, and it is very attractive."
"Don't do that, don't play such tricks with me," Lowell said in a cold tone.
Did she replace him attractive?
However, how was she not attracted by him in the end?
As Lowell thought of that, he sneered again. His lips twitched, he thought it was ridiculous.
He was not a child anymore, and he didn't need anyone to fool him like that.
He was very calm and rational, he could see through her then.
Janice was really such a hateful woman. She actually wanted to use such a way to confuse him.
Lowell's heart was icy cold.
He had lost all pity for the woman long ago.
Right then, he only felt indifference and disgust for that woman.
"I am telling you the truth, every word of it is true. I can swear on the life of the child in my womb." Janice was afraid that he would not believe her, so she said it quickly.
"Didn't you hear me when I told you to shut up?" Lowell scolded her in a deep voice.
"Lowell!" Janice shouted loudly.
"Shut up!" Lowell retorted in a low voice. He did not want to entertain her.
"Actually, I know that you dislike me now. You might even hate me, but I am being honest, I do regret it a little now. It's just that when it comes to relationships, I can't do anything about it, Lowell. I tried to like you before, but in the end, I couldn't do it. I feel bad." Janice smiled bitterly and continued, "At this point, I don't know what to do. I just know that I have to fight for my child and myself."
"A woman like you who resorts to unscrupulous means like this will not get a good outcome out of it," Lowell said coldly, "If you really want to talk, then let me ask you again. Is the child in your womb Gary's?" "Of course it is," Janice said, "If it isn't his child, with his temper do you think he will come all the way here to the United States?"
Lowell was startled by that question.
He also found it strange that Gary did not explain the matter clearly.
The matter was truly quite troublesome.
When he thought of Gary being tricked by her, Lowell felt even more frustrated.
If he had never introduced Janice to Gary, then none of those worrisome matters would have ever happened.
After a moment of silence, Lowell's expression turned even colder.
Janice twitched her lips and said, "If it isn't his child, then why do you think I can show you the DNA test results so confidently?"
"Okay, you can shut up now." Lowell was impatient, he did not want to bother himself with that woman.
Janice was a little anxious when she realized how impatient he was.
She clutched her stomach and shifted her gaze. Suddenly, she cried out, "Oh, my stomach hurts so much. Lowell, call the doctor for me. My stomach hurts, it hurts a lot."
Lowell thought about it and chuckled. "Stop acting. I know exactly what you're up to."
Janice froze. She did not expect Lowell to be so cautious.
She pressed her lips together and covered her belly, she shouted in a low voice, "It's true, I am really going to die of pain. What if something happens to the baby in my womb, will you take responsibility for that?"
"I can take any responsibility, even if the baby in your womb is lost," Lowell said decisively, "And this is exactly what I hope. It is not the right time for this child to come, it is better to let the child go." "No!" Janice shook her head anxiously. "How could you be so cruel? The baby is a living being too."
"It might be the best choice to send a life that is not welcomed by anyone away, for the child will only inflict more pain to itself and everyone around it. If that is the case, it is really better for the child to not be born at all." Lowell was still as cruel as ever.
Janice could try any trick she had, but it would not do anything at all.
The only thing she could do was lie on her bed and cover her stomach.
