True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 2030
"How are you, Celeste?" Lowell smiled and asked after being momentarily stunned. He was trying his best to calm his emotions, not wanting Celeste to notice anything different. Celeste was acting the same deep down as well.
She knew clearly what happened with Janice and Gary, but she had to act as if she didn't.
This was because she didn't want Lowell to be upset.
Regardless of how things were, Lowell was a kind person.
Celeste didn't want Lowell to be sleepless at night.
After all, it was already a pity that Lowell had fallen for a person like Janice, who was someone he could never fall in love with.
Now that something unpleasant had happened, it was clear that Lowell would feel terribly burdened and guilty.
Speaking of which, Lowell seemed to be on the same boat as her as they both fell for the wrong one.
"I'm quite fine," Celeste said as she smiled lightly. With a faint smile and calm eyes, she didn't seem to be upset at all.
Upon seeing that Celeste's smile was still sweet, beautiful and gentle, Lowell let out a sigh of relief.
"That's good to hear. You should be happy with Gary," Lowell smiled and continued, "Being childhood sweethearts and all, your relationship with him makes a lot of people envious. You guys better stay together until the end. Remember to invite me to your wedding."
Upon hearing this, Celeste smiled lightly, "Alright, Uncle Lowell. I hope you will be able to meet your future partner as well. I hope that the girl who falls for you will be kind and pretty, and is someone who will be able to be with you for the rest of your life."
Lowell was stunned. A moment later, he smiled bitterly, "I hope so too. After all, everyone has a chance at happiness."
Celeste just nodded.
Lowell immediately changed the topic and asked, "Where's Gary? Is he upstairs?"
"Yes, he is upstairs. If you want to see him, you can head right up. It's the first room at the end of the corridor." "Oh!" Lowell nodded, "Aren't you going upstairs?" "Nope. I'm going out to the courtyard for a walk. I'll be back in half an hour," Celeste had deliberately told Lowell the time. Knowing well that he had come to the villa half an hour after they had returned, he must have something important to say to Gary. She didn't want to be a third-wheel and wasn't interested in their conversation as well.
Deliberately telling Lowell that she wanted to take a walk in the courtyard was a deliberate excuse for Lowell and Gary to be alone and talk.
Lowell paused for a moment before finally nodding, "Okay, but it's a little cold in the courtyard. You'd better not stay out too long."
"Alright, if it gets too cold, I'll just come back to the living room and watch some TV," Celeste grinned and walked out.
Lowell looked at Celeste's back as she left. After some hesitation, he strode upstairs.
He arrived at the first room at the end of the corridor and knocked on the door.
Soon, the door opened.
Lowell was immediately taken aback to see Gary's bloodshot eyes.
"Gary?"
Upon seeing Lowell at the door, Gary was surprised as well. He frowned, "I just came back and voila, you're here." "Ernest told me to come,." Lowell explained, "I told him to immediately give me a call once you guys return."
"He truly has nothing better to do," Gary snorted coldly as he grumbled in a slightly annoyed tone.
He turned around and walked into the room. Lowell followed suit and entered the room before closing the door behind him.

Lowell then continued as he
followed after Gary, "I bumped into

Celeste when I was downstairs. She said that she was going to the courtyard for a walk and would be back in half an hour. She seemed fine and was even beaming. Thank God nothing happened between you guys."
Gary said nothing but scoffed. Nothing happened?
Celeste had decided to break up with him but Lowell was oblivious to that fact. Hence, Gary didn't try to explain anything as well.
After entering the room, Gary walked over to the window and looked out into the chilly winter scenery, his entire being shrouded in the shadows.
"Gary, has Yandrea given you the investigation results?" Lowell questioned again.
"There was nothing worth reviewing," Gary did not feel like explaining.
"Were there no results at all?" Lowell thought it was weird. He eyed Gary suspiciously, "That can't be right. With Yandrea's ability, it shouldn't be this slow."
"I don't even have any leads, so how can Yandrea have any?" Gary refuted sharply.
Lowell was stunned by Gary's hostility. He could only grin awkwardly and didn't continue.
Why did he feel like Gary was being a little impatient?
After carefully observing Gary, Lowell realized that Gary's eyebrows were furrowed as though he was worried.
He looked at Gary with concern, "I understand that you're under a lot of pressure, I feel sorry as well."
"Why are you apologizing? Does this
matter even concern you?" Gary was feeling sullen and had nowhere to release all his anger. Hence, the minute Lowell opened his mouth to say something, Gary immediately vented his annoyance at Lowell as though trying to pick a fight.
Lowell's face turned pale as he smiled bitterly, "If I hadn't introduced Janice to you, this problem would've never existed in the first place."
"Forget it, Lowell," Gary frowned,
"What Janice was thinking was something you couldn't stop nor anticipate. However, I'm begging you, if you meet a girl you like next time, please confess earlier or put a lock on them earlier. Don't hesitate and give them time to fall for another man. This is the only advice I can give you."
Lowell could only laugh dryly, "Alright, I'll listen to you."
He was very obedient and didn't even dare to look at Gary. It was as if he had done something wrong. Gary was immediately disinterested in looking at him.
"What are you doing here in the middle of the mountains?" Gary asked again.
Lowell sighed, "I was a little worried about you and Celeste, so I came to see you guys."
Upon hearing these words, Gary didn't choose to come clean with the incident between him and Celeste.
Some things should just go according to Celeste's plan. For instance, putting on a fake front before the relatives and acting like they were still a lovey-dovey couple.
"What could happen between Celeste and I? The two of us are fine. Don't show up so often. It would be bad if Celeste sees you like this," Gary
didn't want Lowell to be upset.
"Find. As long as the two of you are fine, I will be out of your hair," Lowell immediately responded.
Gary quickly changed the topic, "Let's head down and replace Celeste."
"Oh, me too?" Lowell was puzzled.
Gary nodded, "Of course, I'll show you how loving Celeste and I are so you can stop worrying."
"Oh ok," With that, Lowell followed Gary downstairs.
As expected, Celeste was in the courtyard. Once they went out and Celeste realized their presence, she was slightly stunned. Then, she immediately dashed towards them with a large grin plastered on her face.
