Celeste was still very confused and everything felt surreal to her. She hadn't caught up to what was happening just yet.

She didn't expect Gary to come looking for her, and to have guessed so accurately at that.

She had always known that Gary was a skilled hacker. It was easy for him to track her phone and locate her.

Celeste guessed that it should not be a surprise that he would show up.

However, she was still caught off guard by it. Based on their current relationship, she never expected Gary to want to know where she was.

She sighed internally. She was still excited to see him, but it was quickly followed by sadness.

Their relationship was coming to an end.

She couldn't get over this at all.

"He's a really great guy." Florina quipped as she watched Gary walk away. Then, she said admiringly, "He's a good boyfriend too. He doesn't want to be separated from you even for a second. I'm glad to see you two so close with each other."

Celeste paused as she Lasted her gaze downwards and sipped on her milk tea.

She was quiet because she didn't know how or where to begin.

Perhaps it was the silence that tipped Florina off that something was amiss. "Why? Aren't you guys close?"

Celeste froze for a second before she shook her head.

Their relationship wasn't bad, but there were some issues that they couldn't overcome.

Celeste felt that it was impossible for her to properly explain everything, so she just shook her head and smiled.

Florina knew that Celeste wasn't a woman of many words unless one was close to her.

They hadn't met for years, nor were they close back then. Hence, there were still some things they couldn't talk about.

"That means you have a good relationship with each other, no?" Florina smiled. "Come on Celeste, some men need to be coaxed like a little baby. We girls gotta be smart, or else men will get bored of us." Celeste was taken aback by what Florina said. After everything she had experienced, she did think that what Florina said was reasonable.

Perhaps she had been too boring.

Back then, Gary had at least thought of Janice as interesting.

That was why they were close and he was attracted to her. Plus, Janice was a really nice person back then. She had only turned out this way because she couldn't get the person she wanted.

People would sometimes be confused about their emotions, and they would go to extremes over them.

However, Janice was also how Celeste found out about how much Gary loved her, and she had actually brought them closer.

Their current breakup was only because Celeste couldn't get over what happened.

But of course, she couldn't tell anyone about this.

"You're right." Celeste finally spoke. Ever since Gary came and left, she hadn't said much. She seemed distant, and no one knew what she was thinking. "Women should be more interesting and smart. However, we should still make sure that there are some things we're ignorant about."

"Ignorant?" Florina was intrigued before bursting into laughter. "Are you speaking from experience?"

"Even though we're not very old, we are fairly experienced. You got into university, and I've lived overseas. We do have our fair share of unique experiences indeed."

"Well, you're right." Florina smiled. "I figured you might get together with Gary, but I didn't think it'd last this long. Gary is indifferent and aloof, sometimes even vicious, unlike his brother, Ernest. Now, that's a gentleman through and through."

Celeste was surprised at the mention of Ernest. The current Ernest wasn't who he once was, and he wasn't as gentle as he used to be. His words were sometimes said brashly, but Celeste did not tell Florina that.

"He has a girlfriend too." Celeste smiled. "Don't make your assumptions known, if not you'll make it hard on all of us, including me."

Florina was shocked before she nodded. "I understand what you mean. I'm only telling you this anyway. However, I do have a question. Do you think you're up for it?" "Ask away," Celeste said.

After all, she did come out to relax and to have a social life like a normal person.

"Well, I'm curious as to why you

didn't fall for Ernest in the first

place? You went with him to

вк England after all." Florina observed Celeste's expression carefully, as if afraid Celeste would be mad. "It's

just plain curiosity, I swear

Celeste paused for a moment and frowned. Then, she answered honestly, "We just don't click. I admit that Ernest is a great guy, but we just don't connect." Florina replied, "Oh, then there's nothing to be done. What a shame."

"It's no big deal." Celeste chuckled.

"Who is Ernest dating? Do I know her?" Florina asked again. "Is she our classmate?"

Celeste shook her head and said, "No, but she is a really nice person."

"Oh, for sure." Florina said, "Ernest wouldn't like her if she wasn't a good person. She must be pretty amazing for Ernest to have fallen in love with her." Celeste nodded. She did think that Leah had a great personality and a good balance between being quiet and proactive.

"Enough about us, what about you?" Celeste finally took the opportunity to ask Florina about her life. "Are you doing okay? Do you have a boyfriend?" Florina lowered her head and sipped on her yogurt before she asked, "What do you think? Do I looked single or taken?"

Celeste was stunned. She didn't expect Florina to ask her that.

She studied Florina carefully. Although Florina was a beautiful girl, there was sadness in the corner of her eyes. Celeste asked tentatively, "I'm sure you've dated before, right?"

Florina raised one delicately shaped eyebrow. "Thanks for sparing my dignity by not saying that I look heartbroken."

Celeste was taken aback. She figured that Florina had a tough time with love when she saw the loneliness in her eyes.

"You are?" Celeste didn't dare ask anything else.

Florina smiled, still gentle and elegant. She nodded and said, "Yeah, I just got out of a relationship. It was quite eventful, and truth be told, it nearly killed me." Celeste was shocked, and her heart ached for Florina.

At times, love was a real killer.

Celeste didn't know what to say.

Some things were better left unasked, and she felt rather embarrassed to continue prying.

Celeste empathized with Florina. She looked up at Florina only to replace that the girl was rubbing her temples. Her voice carried a trace of bitterness.

"I fell in love with a man. He was handsome, mature and steady. Unfortunately, I found out that he's married!"

Celeste gasped in astonishment..

Florina smiled wryly and said, "Shocking, isn't it?"

Celeste shook her head right away.

Though she wasn't particularly shocked, she did not expect that Florina would actually tell her such a private and personal thing.

"Well, event was extremely shocked,

so I can imagine what you must be feeling Florina smiled bitterly and sighed. "It's fine, actually. You don't have to be nice to me. In fact, I need to calm down.

To be honest, I'm talking to you about this because I'm afraid of embarrassing myself by telling anyone else about this. You're leaving, and you don't have a lot of friends here, so I'm not worried about you going around washing my dirty linen in public."

Celeste shook her head and promised, "I won't tell anyone."

Florina smiled. "Thank you."

Celeste felt a stab of pain in her chest. She understood perfectly how Florina felt.

Perhaps Florina thought of Celeste because she indeed had no else to talk to. Celeste was in the same boat.
