Gary's face darkened. No other woman could compare to Celeste.

Although Celeste was much more emotional than other women, she was his one and only.

She was different. Even though she wanted to break up with him, it was only because of her upbringing.

The reason she felt insecure was that she had not experienced a happy and loving childhood. Thus, it was understandable for her to act that way.

Claudia did not seem bothered by the change in Gary's expression.

She smiled and leaned back in her seat, sitting even further away from him.

"I guess your relationship is on the rocks," she remarked.

"I think everyone in the car agrees it's best if you shut up." Gary did not want to hear any of her nonsense anymore.

"I can't help it. I just can't seem to shut up." She paid no attention to his threat as she continued, "If I feel uncomfortable about something, I have to speak up. It's always better to talk about it than to keep it all to myself. It's easier and less hurtful this way."

But how could Gary tell someone he had just met about what he had been keeping to himself? Gary wondered.

Gary's indifferent gaze swept past Claudia. He did not say anything, but his gaze betrayed him.

She smiled, saying, "You must be thinking it's useless to tell me about your inner thoughts, am I right?"

"Since you know, why ask then?" he complained.

"It shows how good I am at reading minds. I guessed what you were thinking, didn't I?" Claudia chuckled.

"Have you always been so confident?"

"Not always, but I know you're thinking I'm being meddlesome," she answered.

"Indeed," he admitted frankly.

"I don't feel ashamed of it. It's fun for me, at least." She continued to look at him and added, "Don't you want to hear my analysis on you and your girlfriend's problem?" "That has nothing to do with you," Gary replied.

"All right then." Claudia fell silent since he was not interested in knowing.

Gary was surprised. He thought she would not shut up because he had rejected her offer.

Now, he was confused.

She glanced at Gary and turned her gaze toward Sebastian's back.

Because of the way they were seated, she could only see the top of his head.

Claudia stretched out her hand and poked the back of his head.

He immediately dodged and turned to glare at her. "What are you doing?"

"Taking advantage of you," she admitted without any shame. "It's my honor to be able to take advantage of a handsome young man like you."

He knew he could not expect any decent words from her.

He glanced at her and sneered. Then, he turned back to the front and ignored her.

Where did such a lunatic come from? Sebastian thought to himself.

It was evident that Sebastian was ignoring Claudia.

Nonetheless, she did not feel that she had gone too far. She smiled and said, "Don't be so cold."

"Sit quietly, or I'll throw you out," he warned her without turning his head.

She smiled and said, "Kid, you have quite the personality. I'm only teasing you because of your cute reactions and appearance. You don't need to be so guarded against me."

"If you continue to speak, I'm afraid none of us will be able to endure you anymore." Gary was bothered by her nonstop talking. Seeing that Sebastian was on pins and needles, he felt the need to threaten her. Claudia shrugged. "All right, I'll shut up now. You don't have to threaten me."

She fell silent.

The car sped along the road and soon arrived at the Jones' residence.

The moment they entered, the butler noticed Gary was injured. He asked in shock, "Master Gary, what happened to your face?"

When Gary entered the room, he looked at his reflection in the mirror. He knew that his injuries were visible to others.

Kendrix had not held back at all, so it was no doubt he would get hurt.

"I'm fine. It's nothing to me," Gary replied casually.

The butler took another look at Ernest and Sebastian. Fortunately, they were not injured.

"Should I get a doctor?" the butler asked again.

Gary shook his head. "Nope. I'll do it myself."

The butler did not dare to say anything more. At that moment, Claudia coughed.

Only then did the butler see her. She was standing behind them with her luggage.

The butler was surprised. "And who is this?"

"Sylvia's friend. Tell her she has a guest," said Ernest.

Claudia nodded at the butler with a sweet smile on her face.

The butler looked doubtful. He could tell that Claudia was slightly older than Sylvia.

He thought it odd that Sylvia would have such a friend, but he did as he was told and went to get Sylvia.

"Miss Sylvia, your friend is here." The butler called out at the door to Sylvia's room on the second floor. Leah was with Sylvia in her room.

The two were surprised to hear that Sylvia had a friend visiting her.

"It's so late already. Who is it?" Leah asked.

The butler replied, "I'm not sure either. She seems to be a girl about the same age as you, Miss Winston. She's quite pretty. She requested to meet Miss Sylvia, and she came here with Miss Sylvia's

brothers."

Leah pondered for a moment. If she had come with the three guys, then she must have had something to do with Kendrix.

Leah immediately got excited. She dragged Sylvia out of bed, saying, "Let's go see her anyway."

Sylvia had no choice but to follow Leah downstairs. At the top of the stairs, she saw four people in the hallway. One of them was a tiny, slender girl.

She froze when she noticed the so-called friend of hers.

She stared right at Claudia.

Her eyes grew misty.

The girl was Mr. Trevino's girlfriend. Sylvia saw her at his apartment that

day. She had told Sylvia that shol. Bet

was Mr. Trevino's girlfriend. Sylvia thought to herself.

As she recalled what happened, Sylvia got upset.

Leah could feel Sylvia's entire body tense up when Sylvia saw the gir downstairs. When Leah turned to look at Sylvia, Sylvia was already on the verge of tears.

She was stunned. Puzzled, she looked at Claudia.

Ernest said, "Leah, don't just stand there. Bring Sylvia down."

Leah felt slightly relieved at hearing those words. She then said to Sylvia, "Let's go down."

Sylvia pursed her lips and nodded.

Sylvia did not know why Claudia had come to look for her, but she had to go down to face Claudia anyway.
