True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 2118
Sebastian almost jumped up out from his bed.
Claudia said firmly, "I'll still replace you even without a phone. Actually, I prefer writing letters. It's more romantic, no?"
Sebastian looked at Claudia intensely and snorted, "That's a communication method only ancient people use. I'm not using that."
He was mocking Claudia's age.
Claudia could obviously tell that it was his intention, but she did not get mad. Instead, she smiled and said, "Does that mean you're okay with me contacting you through phone then? If you don't want to write letters, that's fine. We can use WhatsApp. I'll respect your preference."
She was deliberately deflecting from the main point!
Sebastian instantly realized how intelligent Claudia was. That woman was very good at taking advantage of the situation.
The most important thing was that he did not want to contact Claudia at all.
However, the way she said it made it sound like he really wanted to keep in contact with her.
"Please don't contact me," Sebastian said, "I'm not interested in you."
"It doesn't matter. Interest can be cultivated slowly," said Claudia. "I know you're still young and dumb about relationships, so you might not realize that you've already caught feelings." "Are you out of your mind?" Sebastian retorted in anger.
Claudia remained calm. "Yeah, I am, but you're the cure to my insanity. We're a perfect match."
Sebastian's expression darkened again. He decided to remain silent.
He knew clearly that no matter what he said, Claudia had something to refute.
Hence, he decided not to say anything altogether.
Claudia stopped talking after Sebastian fell silent. Then, she smiled, "Well, guess we'll be using WhatsApp from now on."
Sebastian knew that she was going to say that, so he'd finally found the right word to describe her. She was shameless.
That was it.
Sebastian took a deep breath. He was pissed, but he didn't want to show it, lest Claudia take advantage of his heightened emotional state.
Claudia could guess that Sebastian was very annoyed with her from the way he was glaring at her.
Seeing that, Claudia grinned and said, "You look even cuter when you're quiet. Silence is golden, and I feel like we're a match made in heaven, you know? You're right for me." Like hell they were!
Sebastian really wanted to shout that back at Claudia.
Reason told him that he shouldn't interact with Claudia again. She'd twist everything he said. He must not fall for it.
Meanwhile, Claudia was trying her best to prompt Sebastian into speaking, trying to replace his weak spot. He was on the verge of flipping at her.
However, Sebastian remained steadfastly silent. Claudia realized that it was time to stop teasing him.
She smiled and said, "Okay, love, see you later."
She finally left right after saying that.
Sebastian got up and walked to the door quickly, then locked the door.
Then, he went back to bed and lay on top. Finally, he could start to relax his tensed mind.
What was that?
He was being teased by a woman six years older than him and that was actually quite annoying.
Glancing at his watch, it was time for breakfast. Alas, Sebastian had no appetite at all.
He didn't want to go downstairs to have breakfast and see the woman who had just flirted with him.
Hence, he simply decided not to go downstairs.
Alas, he didn't expect Grace to call him.
He picked up the phone to hear his mother's gentle voice. "Sebastian, why aren't you coming down to eat?"
"Mom, I'm not hungry. Can I come down later?" Sebastian asked.
"Come downstairs right now. There are guests here, so don't be impolite," Grace said.
Sebastian frowned. He wanted to say something else, but Grace ignored him and urged Sebastian. "Come on down, we're all waiting for you."
Sebastian felt very helpless, and he went downstairs anyway.
Everyone was present at the dining room save for Gary.
Heinz, Grace, Ernest, Leah, Lowell, Sylvia and Claudia were all there.
Sebastian wondered why Grace said that they were waiting for him when Gary hadn't even
arrived.
He greeted everyone before asking Grace, "Where's Gary?"
Grace just replied, "Everyone that needs to be here is here."
Judging from her tone, Grace didn't seem to view Gary as a person anymore.
Sebastian didn't dare say anything else.
After all, his mother was pregnant then, and he didn't want to irritate her.
"Claudia, there's no need to be polite. Go and eat to your heart's content." Grace smiled pleasantly at Claudia. "Oh, this is Sebastian, my son. Sebastian, this is Mr. Trevino's cousin, Miss Loris." Claudia smiled at Sebastian sweetly.
Sebastian frowned. Did Grace want him to refer to her so politely?
Dream on.
Claudia chuckled, spotting Sebastian's reluctance at a glance.
Grace frowned when she saw that Sebastian refused to acknowledge Claudia. He was being greatly impolite.
"Sebastian, greet our guest." Grace gave her son a quizzical look.
Sebastian was usually very well-mannered and polite. He was a very considerate person.
However, he seemed off that day.
Sebastian went stiff all over, and his expression was a little off. Alas, he had to compromise in front of everyone.
"Mom, since she's Mr. Trevino's cousin, she's an elder to me. I think I should call her madam instead," Sebastian said faintly, glancing at Claudia. His eyes were filled with mirth at her awkward expression. He'd finally won one round.
He became more confident and said to Claudia, "Nice to meet you, Madam Loris. Welcome to our humble abode."
Claudia was taken aback by how Sebastian addressed her, but she managed to recover quite quickly.
She knew that Sebastian was doing that on purpose.
She quickly calmed herself down and acted unfazed. "I'm about the same age as your brothers. You make me feel old if you call me that."
Grace was shocked. She didn't expect her son to even have considered that.
Mr. Trevino's cousin was indeed an elder to Sebastian, but didn't Sylvia fancy Kendrix? It was a little too much for Sebastian to call her madam if that was the situation.
Grace of course had her own considerations as well.
She tried to smooth things over for Claudia. "That's right. Although what you said makes sense, Claudia is about the same age as all of you. If you call her Madam, it does make her sound old. Perhaps calling her miss is better."
"Mom, Madam Loris may be young, but she still is an elder to me. I wouldn't dare to call her anything else. Isn't that right, Madam Loris?" Sebastian said firmly.
Claudia smirked woefully before she smiled and said, "It doesn't matter what you call me. It's just a name after all."
She laughed nonchalantly as if she didn't mind it at all.
Grace felt a sense of awkwardness. She gave her son a quizzical look again, and there was reproach in her eyes.
On the other hand, Sebastian ignored his mother's gaze.
He sat down at the dining table and smiled at Claudia, who was beside him. He said, "Madam Loris is a very open-hearted person, so don't fuss
over
What
to call her, mom. I just
think calling her madam is more
respectful. What do you think,
Madam Loris?"
Claudia pressed her lips into a thin line as she glanced at Sebastian, who was smirking.
She raised her eyebrow and said,
"That's right, Sebastian. You're a very
clever boy Fam a very open-hearted person, and I don't really care much
for the rules. You can call me anything you want." Sebastian's brows furrowed ever so slightly.
He just nodded slightly and did not intend to say anything more. He just quietly ate his breakfast.
Seated next to Claudia, Sylvia felt rather surprised. Sebastian did treat Claudia quite differently from the rest.
Sebastian wouldn't talk so much in the past. Instead, he'd just follow whatever Grace said.
However, he went against Grace a lot that day, and he had actually talked a lot more. There was also an inexplicable anger in his tone.
It seemed that what Claudia had said to Sebastian earlier had annoyed him.
Otherwise, why would he be like that?
Grace glanced at Sebastian again before she reminded him, "Sebastian, Sylvia addressed her as
miss. Why must you call her madam then?"
Sebastian looked up and smiled nonchalantly. "Mom, to each their own. I address her as such because of Mr. Trevino."
Sylvia frowned. Why was Sebastian being so stubborn?
"Sebastian, why not just call Claudia by her name? Mom, stop worrying about what we call each other as we young people have our own ways. Right, Claudia?"
"Yeah." Claudia nodded. "Don't worry about us, Aunt Smith."
"Okay." Grace smiled. "As you wish."
