True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 2129
After she went back up, Sylvia saw Claudia lying on her bed alone. She was alone in the room, and it was obvious that Sebastian had returned to his room. The loud banging sound earlier must have came from him closing his door.
She entered the room and closed the door, she asked Claudia, "What happened? That sound of the door being slammed just now scared me."
Claudia lay on one side and looked at Sylvia, she replied, "Sebastian lost his temper after I provoked him."
"Oh?" Sylvia was very surprised. "How did you provoke him? He is usually a calm and reserved person. We all know that he is very mature for his young age, but he actually lost his temper with you for a good few times. I don't think that he is a calm person at all anymore, but more like just a naive boy."
"If that is the case, then Sebastian and I might actually get closer." Claudia was immediately excited as she heard what Sylvia said. She propped up her head and lay down on one side, she looked at Sylvia, as if there were stars in her eyes. "He must be treating me differently, right?" "Of course, he treats you differently, and even his reaction is different. It is obvious that he is different from his usual self around you, so much so that I feel like I don't even know him anymore."
"Haha." Claudia laughed, she felt a little proud. "If that is the case, then I would really be more confident."
"Of course." Sylvia encouraged her. "In the end, he still helped you apply the ointment, didn't he?"
Claudia pursed her lips, she did not say anything.
It seemed like she had misunderstood.
It seemed that she still had high hopes for Sebastian.
Sebastian was not a gentleman towards Claudia at all.
"As I said, as soon as I threatened him, he immediately compromised," Sylvia spoke to herself, "Even though he was reluctant, he still complied in the end. This shows that he is still different towards you."
"I applied it myself," Claudia corrected her. "Your great brother threw it on the bed and asked me to apply it myself. He even sarcastically said that I could do it myself. Well, I think he's right. I indeed could do it myself, so I did. After I retorted, he got angry."
"Oh, I thought that he helped you do it." Sylvia started to yell, "Sebastian is such an infuriating person! How could he be so ungentlemanly?"
"He is just a boy in his teens. What do you expect of him?"
"A boy in his teens? Sebastian is going to be your husband in a few years, isn't he?"
"I still take him as a young boy right now."
"Claudia." Sylvia suddenly blinked and said, "Have you ever heard of a child bride?"
Claudia nodded. "Of course I have."
"Don't you think it feels like you are looking for a child bride right now?"
"Don't even think about that." Claudia was amused, she laughed. "A child bride has to be raised when they are underage, we are almost adults now."
"That's right." Sylvia passed the tea to her and said, "Get up and drink some tea."
"Thank you." Claudia sat up, she drank some tea before she said, "Come on, let's go downstairs."
"I think you should continue to lie down for a while."
"If I continue to lie down, I am worried that Kendrix and your uncle will be in an awkward situation." Claudia knew Kendrix's personality, he would never try to please anyone, nor would he even talk at all.
As Lowell had probably guessed Kendrix and Sylvia's ambiguous relationship then, he might show some displeasure towards Kendrix.
Under such circumstances, if she continued to let the two men sit there on their own, it would surely be extremely awkward. They might even start fighting.
"That's true." Sylvia thought about it carefully. "When I went downstairs to get some water, the two of them were sitting on the sofa and did not say anything at all. I believe they have been in awkwardness for a while already."
"Then, what are we waiting for? Let's quickly go downstairs." Claudia drank some water, she was ready to get out of bed. "What about Sebastian?" Sylvia was unwilling to give up, she wanted to give Claudia a chance to get closer to Sebastian.
"Let him stay upstairs." Claudia was not in a hurry at all.
"Don't you want to have a chance to get closer to him?"
"There is a chance for everything. Haste makes waste," Claudia said calmly.
Sylvia nodded, she gave her a thumbs up. "I am impressed by your confidence. It looks like
Sebastian is no match for you." "You
will know more when you get to my age. You will only understand some things when you come of age," Claudia said, "I have already pissed him off enough today. I don't want him to be so mad that he wouldn't even come downstairs to eat."
"What did you do to push him so hard?" Sylvia was curious. Her heart was itching. She really wanted to know what Claudia told Sebastian earlier.
"It was nothing, really," Claudia simply repeated what she had just said.
Sylvia was stunned, she then took a deep breath. "You are really amazing. Sebastian is like an innocent baby, but you're like an old rogue."
"Am I?" Claudia shrugged. "I think that we are all very normal."
Sylvia shrugged, she said in
confusion, "I really don't know what's on your mind. Mr. Trevino is such a serious person, yet you are so mischievous. Are you two really cousins or not?"
"Of course we are," Claudia said, "We are real cousins."
"However, your personalities are quite different."
"You and Sebastian came from the same womb, but you two have completely different personalities as well."
"That's true."
The two of them chattered as they walked downstairs.
While they were on the stairs, they could see the scene downstairs. Kendrix and Lowell were not talking to each other. The entire hall was silent, and an awkward atmosphere could be felt all around.
Claudia and Sylvia exchanged glances with each other.
The two of them looked into each other's eyes. Neither of them spoke, but they could feel each other's feelings.
The two people downstairs were like statues.
The two girls quickly went downstairs to have a look. They sat motionlessly on the sofa. Kendrix's face was still as expressionless as ever, and Lowell's expression was no better. Sylvia felt that the sofa was not being occupied by those two men, but rather two huge icebergs.
"Uncle Lowell? Mr. Trevino?" Sylvia smiled and said, "Here, have some tea."
Kendrix did not speak.
Lowell said, "Sylvia, come here, sit by my side."
Obviously, Lowell did not want Sylvia to sit down next to Kendrix.
However, Claudia only smiled and said, "I think I should sit beside Mr. Jones. My leg hurts, so I can't walk too much. Sylvia, you should sit over there, thank you."
As she spoke, she sat down next to Lowell.
Sylvia smiled. She saw Lowell's sullen and frowning face, it was obvious that he was displeased.
Her heart jolted. Could it be that Lowell had figured something out?
However, that did not matter anymore. She was not there anyway.
Sylvia walked towards Kendrix, she sat down next to him and greeted him, "Mr. Trevino."
